PUNK VS. MOXLEY 2 AND MJF IS BACK: AEW ALL OUT 2022 PPV COVERAGE FROM CHICAGO

By Mike Johnson on 2022-09-04 19:01:00

Sting & Miro & Darby Allin vs. The House of Black.

Miro stomped the hell out of Black to start.  King stepped in.  He and Miro shoved each other.  Black nailed a series of kicks and booted him in the face.  Matthews tagged in but was caught and overhead suplexed.  Allin asked for a tag but Miro ignoed him.   Miro slammed Matthews down.  He looked to tag out and then waved off Sting and Darby.  Matthews nailed a jawbreaker and Darby tagged himself in.

Darby used a forward roll on Matthews for a two count.  Matthews caught him with a kick to the mid-section.  Darby went for a Code Red but Black killed him with a roundhouse kick to the head.  Malakai controlled Allin, working him over as Darby fought to maintain himself.  Allin was worked over and tossed into the guard rail, beaten down as the House of Black tagged in and out, controlling the flow of the match.

Darby battled back and tried to tag out but was stopped.  Matthews knocked Sting off the apron.  Julia Hart distracted the referee so he didn't see Miro get the tag so he was forced back to the corner.  The House of Black continued to destroy Allin until Sting got the hot tag.  Sting took out King and locked eyes with Black.  He dared Black to tag in.  They faced off and battled inside the ring.  Sting got the better of it and locked on the Scorpion Deathlock. The other members of House of Black tried to nail Sting but it didn't faze him.  Black turned it into a kneebar.  Black was busted open near his eye from a Sting punch.

Sting was triple-teamed and worked over.  He escaped and tagged in Darby.  He nailed a Scorpion Death Drop on King.  Allin nailed the Coffin Drop but Matthews broke it up.  Miro kicked King out of the ring and into the guard rail.  Miro charged but Matthews drilled him with a weapon to the mid-section, sending Miro stumbling into the ring steps.  Allin nailed a big dive to the floor on Matthews.

Black went for a spinkick on Sting but was MISTED.  I guess he learned that from The Great Muta.  Allin nailed him and scored the pin.

Your winners, Sting, Darby Allin & Miro!

Tony Schiavone interviewed Daniel Garcia.  Jericho showed up and asked him why he didn't come out to celebrate with them.  Garcia said he is the greatest ever but he let him down tonight.  Jericho said he let him down too.  He said Garcia won't have the JAS support this Wednesday, so if he's going to win, he's going to do it without Chris Jericho.

AEW Champion Jon Moxley with William Regal vs. CM Punk.

Punk came out wearing a "We are Chicago" shirt.

Punk offered his foot to Mox at the bell.

They battled and chopped each other until the referee separated them.  Punk nailed a roundhouse kick, several running knee strikes and a ton of elbows.  He nailed the GTS and almost scored the three.  Given how quick the last match ended, the crowd thought that was it.  Moxley rolled out and Punk smiled.  Chicago erupted with Punk chants.

Punk hit a dive, sending Mox into the crowd.  They brawled through the NOW Arena.  They battled halfway up and back into ringside.  Punk kept checking one of his elbows.  Punk sent Moxley into the steps.  Moxley came back to shove him into the ring post, busting open Punk.  Moxley went right after the cut with elbows.  The crowd went back and forth with chants.  Punk pulled himself up and Mox told him, "This is for you" and kicked him in the face.

Punk slowly made his way back to the ring.  Moxley chants started, booed by the remainder of Chicago.  Punk tried to fight from underneath.   Moxley kept working him over with chops.  Punk came back with the running knee strike.  He went for the bulldog but was tripped and Moxley attacked his bad foot.  Punk tried to kick him off but was stomped low.   Moxley locked on a one-legged crab.  Moxley locked him in a STF while grinding into the cut.  Punk raked his face to force the break.  Punk charged but was caught in the corner.  Moxley dropkicked him in the knee, then followed up with a Dragon Screw Legwhip.

Moxley locked on a figure four leglock.  Punk wouldn't give up and gave him the finger.  Moxley grabbed him in a piledriver but Punk kicked up at the last second.  Punk fought back and Moxley ended up striking the post with his shoulder.  Dueling chants.  Punk began stomping Moxley's face and cinched in the Anaconda Vise.  Moxley escaped and began returning the stomps to Punk as Chicago booed.  Moxley missed a lariat and was kicked with a leg lariat.  Punk slammed him and went to the top for the flying elbow but Mox moved and locked in a rear naked choke.  Punk tossed him off and attempted a cross armbreaker.  Moxley rolled through and locked in his Bulldog choke.  Punk used his knees to try and strike him but Moxley grabbed in and went for an anklelock,  The crowd chanted for Punk to make the ropes.

Punk made it but was nailed with a German suplex.  He flipped off the crowd but Punk nailed a roundhouse kick.  Moxley clubbed him back and they both collapsed to the mat as the referee counted them out.  They fought to their feet and battled back and forth with punches.  Punk ducked one and nailed legsweep.  He went for the GTS but Moxley blocked it and nailed the Death Rider DDT for a two count.

Moxley rained down with elbows to the neck and jaw.  Moxley went back to the choke.  The crowd chanted for Punk.  Punk powered up for a GTS but Moxley dropped down for the choke.  Punk rolled through and nailed the GTS.  Punk dropped on his knees and Moxley bounced off the ropes and landed atop of him.  Punk pulled him up and nailed another GTS.  Punk made the pin.

Your winner and new AEW Champion, CM Punk!

This was a really good back and forth, well wrestled bout.  The blood added to the drama of the match as well.

Punk said something to Moxley on the mat before taking the title and having his hand raised.

The lights went out and you heard a voice mail from Tony Khan demanding someone return and if they did at the PPV, Khan would put him in the Casino Ladder Match, pay him a censored amount of money, not make him sign an extension and let everything go.  He said this was his "last offer."

They then played a clip of Punk talking about the devil in ROH many years ago.

The Joker then revealed himself to be MJF backstage.

MJF's music played and he came out on the stage.  He stood there and smiled at Punk.  Punk raised his title high.  The crowd chanted for MJF.  MJF made a motion that he was coming for the title, then flipped off Chicago.

The announcers said we will find out more at Dynamite.
