Britt Baker with Rebel vs. Hikaru Shida vs. Toni Storm vs. Jamie Hayter to crown Interim AEW Women's Champion.
Lots of near falls early. Britt went for the Lockjaw but Shida slipped through and went for a kick but Britt ducked. Shida nailed a backbreaker but Hayter attacked her from behind. Hayter nailed a double suplex on Storm and Shida. She nailed them with a double lariat. Storm avoided a charge and Hayter went to the floor. Storm hit a big tope suicida.
Hayter carried and dumped Shida to the top of the entrance ramp, where Britt stomped her into the stage. The AEW medical team checked on her. This left Storm worked over by Hayter and Britt as Shida was removed and taken to the back. Storm fought back against the disadvantage but was overwhelmed. Shida returned and began caning everyone. She whipped Britt into Hayter in the corner and rained down with punches.
Everyone battled. Hayter nailed a backbreaker on Storm. Everyone battled and broke up pinfall attempts. They were all out fighting to their feet and met each other with forearms and strikes. Hayter and Shida took out the opposition and began battling the other. Shida nailed a Falcon Arrow on Hayter but Storm grabbed Shida and nailed a German suplex. Hayter tombstoned Storm but Shida nailed a Meteroa. Britt superkicked Shida. Britt stomped Shida and scored a close two count. Baker pulled out her glove for the Lockjaw but Storm dumped her from the ring. Hayter nailed Storm and hit a Ripcord Lariat on Shida...but Baker pulled the referee out of the ring.
Hayter, as you might imagine, not thrilled about this. Storm nailed Hayter but Britt nailed her and covered Hayter, who got her shoulder up at the last second. Storm caught Britt and Hayter with DDTs, then covered Hayter for the pin.
Your winner and AEW Interim Women's Champion, Toni Storm!
They packed a lot into this and worked really hard. Everyone got to hit a big move and they began splitting Hayter and Britt, which should play out in the future. They didn't have the crow as behind them as you'd have thought. My feeling is the AEW Tag Title bout burnt them out.
Jungle Boy vs. Christian Cage.
Cage told JB's mother, sitting in the first row, to call him and she slapped him.
Jungle Boy was introduced as Jack Perry. He came out alone and Luchasaurus, who came out of the heel tunnel, grabbed him and chokeslammed him on the metal next to the entrance stage. This made absolutely no sense given the storyline and was completely stupid given the storyline. He carried JB to the ring and powerbombed him through a table in front of his mother and sister. So, when he turned on Jungle Boy and was with Christian only to help Jungle Boy, it was all a ruse? I know he kept all the heel costuming on and all, but seriously, WHAT?
JB still demanded to fight. He was speared and kicked out. He was hit with the Tomakaze and pinned.
Your winner, Christian Cage!
This was more angle than match and it felt like we missed two chapters of the story, to boot. I wonder if Cage had sort of of injury that required the angle.
They announced Death Triangle vs. Best Friends & Orange Cassidy for Wednesday in Buffalo for Dynamite.
Bryan Danielson vs. Chris Jericho.
Jericho came out as Lionheart Chris Jericho with his old tights and ECW theme. Jericho vs. Sabu headlined the first ECW show Tony Khan ever saw live, by the way.
Danielson was sang to the ring by a singer who was a friend of his, Elliot Taylor. Pretty sports-entertainment for a wrestler who's FIGHTING THE SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT GUY!
They lock up and it was some good back and forth wrestling early on. Danielson took Jericho down and...let him up? Even Taz rightfully said Danielson shouldn't have done that. Danielson got control and worked over Jericho until being crotched on the top rope. Jericho worked him over with punches but Danielson heldbutt him off the top to the ring. Bryan came off the top with a flying headbutt but Jericho rolled out of the way. He nailed a Quebrada but Danielson pulled his knees up and went right to The Lebell Lock.
Bryan went for a tombstone but it was reversed. Jericho nailed the Quebrada and scored a two count. Jericho charged and punted him. He went for the Judas Effect but Bryan drilled him with a series of kicks. Bryan said he was going to "kick his f***ing head in" and did just that to Jericho, then locked in the Lebell Lock again. Jericho fought to the ropes but Bryan moved him back to center ring and locked it on again. Jericho nailed him and locked in the Walls of Jericho. They battled back and forth until Jericho drove him with a leaping knee strike for a two count.
Jericho couldn't get the pin and kept telling at Danielson to stay down. Danielson came back with the leaping knee for a two count. Danielson locked in Cattle Mutilation. Jericho ate a series of elbows and was locked in again. Jericho made it to the ropes. Bryan kept kicking him against the ropes. Referee told him to stop. He has until five. He kept attacking. Crowd didn't like her stopping him. Jericho rolled him up for a two count. Bryan drilled him with elbow after elbow. Jericho caught him with a low blow, which the referee missed. Jericho nailed the Judas Effect and scored the pin.
Your winner, Chris Jericho!
The JAS came out to celebrate. Daniel Garcia was shown backstage shaking his head over the finish.
