TWO BIG RETURNS AND MORE: COMPLETE AEW WORLDS COLLIDE 2024 COVERAGE

By Cory Strode on 2024-12-28 19:15:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's AEW Worlds End coverage!!

Zero Hour begins with a hype panel of Renee Paquette, RJ City, and Matt Menard.

The show is at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.

Mark Sterling joins the panel as they start giving predictions for the matches tonight. We get a video of Mercedes Mone showing up in what looks like a street legal Monster Truck, and they switch out Sterling with Madison Rayne to go over the women’s matches.

Lexi Nair has a brief interview with Leila Grey about her match with Rookie Toni Storm and she says she has been training at the New Japan LA Dojo and we will see a new version of her tonight.

After the interview, they go over the World’s Championship match and it’s the original three commentators. I have to point out that at the last Xero Hour, they started the matches 5 minutes into Zero Hour in front of empty seats, this time, they go through the entire card and the seats are mostly full by the time they start the first match.

The Broadcast team is Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Nigel McGuinness.

Toni Storm vs Leila Grey

They start with headlocks and arm bars as the crowd chants “She’s a rookie” to Toni. Storm uses the arm bars for quick one counts and then back to headlocks. Toni gets a backbreaker for one and then a slam with a splash for two. Grey is able to get a quick rollup out of the corner for two before a swinging neckbreaker for two.

Grey gets a series of quick kicks and a drop-kick for two. Storm is able to take over the match, gets a Thesz press and hits the hip attack. Storm hits a fisherman’s suplex with a bridge for two. Grey gets a flipping neck breaker leaping from the second turnbuckle for two. Grey gets a running knee strike and a suplex with a float over for two. Storm gets a surprise small package for the pin and the win.

Winner: Toni Storm

Lexi Nair is in the back with QT Marshall, who puts over his opponent Jeff Jarrett, but says he is not an innovator like he is. He then says that Jarrett wishes he was as innovative at he is, and takes a selfie with Lexi and tells her “You’re Welcome.”

The panel starts up again with Daniel Garcia and Mark Briscoe to talk about the Continental Classic finals. Briscoe and Garcia talk about having a match for Garcia’s TNT title to wrap the segment.

Jeff Jarrett vs. QT Marshall

QT gets a much louder boo than Jarrett gets a cheer, and then there is a loud QT Sucks chant. QT gets an arm drag and dances to mock Jarrett. QT gets a side headlock and then a drop toe hold. QT then lies on the top turnbuckle and ropes. He gives Jarrett a kick when they go to lock up. Jarrett gets a pair of hip tosses and struts. He tosses QT over the top and QT skins the cat back into the ring and Jarrett does it again and this time is able to do the full strut.

Jarrett then mocks QT with a dance. QT gets a flying elbow and stomps down Jarrett. The crowd had chanted “You’ve still got it” for Jarrett and they chanted “You still suck” for QT, so I look for a fun crowd tonight.

QT gets a back handspring into a kick off the ropes for two. Jarrett elbows out of a rear chinlock, but QT grabs it again and Jarrett gets a back body drop. Jarrett is able to get ten in the corner and then flips the double bird. Jarrett gets an insigiri for two. QT chops Jarrett in the throat and tries for a figure four, but Jarrett kicks him out of the ring. QT goes to the top and Jarrett brings him into the ring the hard way and locks on a sharpshooter.

Aaron Solo gets on the apron to distract Jarrett and QT gets a rollup for two, then The Stroke for two. QT calls for the guitar, and after Solo grabs it, Jay Lethal grabs it from him and attacks, driving him up the ramp. Jarrett gets a pair of two counts followed by The Stroke for the pin and the win.

Winner: Jeff Jarrett

Backstage Toni Storm is with Lexi and Deonna Purrazo introduces herself. Storm says they met before. Last Week. Deonna challenges her to a match for the first time ever and Toni accepts.

We go back to the original three, Renee, Matt and RJ as they go over more matches.

The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) and Top Flight (Darius Martin and Dante Martin) vs. Lio Rush, Action Andretti, and Murder Machines (Lance Archer and Brian Cage)

The Outrunners now have 480 p for their entrance as well as tracking issues.

Everyone has words and tries to go at each other before the bell with Rush and Andretti wanting to go after Top Flights.

We start with Darius and Archer and Cage is nearly immediately tagged in for them to double-team Darius. Cage’s new look makes him look MUCH more formidable. Andretti is tagged in and Lio gets in the ring as well. Dante is tagged in and we get a series of fast spots from Dante and Andretti. When Andretti goes to the floor, Archer gets in the way so that Dante can't dive on him. Truth is tagged in who tags in Turbo and we get the Outrunners vs Rush and Andretti for a bit.

Truth goes for an airplane spin, but Rush stops it with a rake to the eyes. Truth is kept in the ring as the babyface in peril and is worked over for a good long time. Turbo gets in the ring and they get a double suplex on Archer. They hit a double man slam on Archer and we get Top Flight in the ring and well and we get a quadruple biceps drop. Dante stays in the ring and the Outrunners attack Cage when he tries for a power bomb.

Top Flight hits a series of big spots until Archer choke slams Darius. Archer and Cage hit the two-man power slam on Dante for two, broken up by the Outrunners. Rush tags himself in, much to Archer’s chagrin for a frog splash and the pin on Dante.

Winners: Lio Rush, Action Andretti, and Murder Machines (Lance Archer and Brian Cage)

As the winners argue, Private Party comes out. They have words with Rush and Andretti.

Lexi is with Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, and Satnam Singh. Jeff says on Dynamite, he will make an announcement about his career.

We end with Renee, Matt and RJ going over how to order and their last thoughts on the card.
