TWO BIG RETURNS AND MORE: COMPLETE AEW WORLDS COLLIDE 2024 COVERAGE

World’s End, the final AEW PPV of the year is held at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando Florida and our commentary team is Excalibur, Nigel McGuinness, and Tony Schiavone. 

Will Ospreay vs. Kyle Fletcher - Semi Final in the Continental Classic

Fletcher misses a charge at Ospreay, running into chops. Ospreay goes for a tejaris and Fletcher catches him. They trade quick holds and missed kicks until Fletcher goes to the floor for a breather. He slowly gets into the ring and stalls locking up. Fletcher gets a kick when they start to lock up and lays in chops in the corner. Ospreay clotheslines Fletcher over the top and then gets a cannonball off the apron into Fletcher on the floor.

They brawl on the floor and Fletcher hits a slam into the apron. Fletcher tosses Ospreay into the barricade and then poses on that barricade. They go back to brawling and Kyle slams his head into the steel steps and Opsreay is busted open. They return to the ring and Fletcher gets a big boot. Fletcher gets a series of upkicks to Ospreay’s head and then licks the blood off of his hands.

Ick.  Just, ick.

He goes back to pounding Ospreay for a few in the corner, but when he goes to lick his fist, Ospreay escapes. Fletcher tosses Ospreay into the turnbuckle head first for two. Fletcher kicks Ospreay, who is on his knees and Ospreay starts to fire up with strikes. Ospreay gets a big back body drop and gets his own snake eyes on the top turnbuckle and a sky twister press for two. Fletcher gets a pair of kicks and then goes for a slam, but Ospreay turns it into a stundog millionaire Fletcher gets a half-and-half suplex but Ospreay gets a Spanish Fly for two. 

Ospreay tries to pick up Fletcher, and because he can't, gets a series of upkicks and chop. Ospreay calls for Fletcher to come at him and he does with a chop. They trade chops back and forth. They go back and forth with attempts until Ospreay gets an Oz cutter for two. Fletcher gets a clothesline and puts Ospreay on his shoulder. Ospreay gets a poisonrana and Fletcher follows with a hidden blade. 

Both men are down struggling to get up. They trade headbutts as they work to their feet. It looks as if Fletcher is busted open as well. Ospreay is able to get a thrust. Fletcher goes for a rollup and has a hand on the ropes. The ref sees it, makes him break it, and Ospreay hits the hidden blade for two. Fletcher gets a pair of kicks and a stalling brain buster for two. Fletcher gets a Liger bomb for two.

Fletcher gets a running kick in the corner, and Ospreay counters the brain buster with a hurricanrana and follows with a Styles Clash for the pin and the win.

Winner and moving on Will Ospreay

Kazuchika Okada (Continental Champion) vs Ricochet

Okada gets a massive chant to start the match.

They lock up and go to the corner and break clean. They lock up again and Okada forces them to the corner and Okada pulls Ricochet’s ear before they break. Okada gets a shoulder tackle and Ricochet pops up. Ricochet gets a tejaris and a drop-kick, sending Okada to the floor. Okada returns to the ring and drops Ricochet with a big boot. Okada then just starts with back elbow in each corner before a snap mare and asking the crowd to be quiet. He runs the ropes and then slaps Ricochet's head.

They fight through the ropes, and Ricochet pulls Okada into the ropes via his leg and then dives onto Okada on the floor. Ricochet taunts the fans and rolls Okada into the ring. Ricochet gets a flying elbow off the top rope and then gets a series of knees to Okada’s back. Ricochet keeps up the attack as he jacks his jaw to the fans. Ricochet gets a crucifix pin for two. Ricochet then hits a move, yells “I’m winning” and doges on his next move. 

Okada slowly gets to his feet, taking chops from Ricochet. He then fires an elbow strike. Ricochet fires a pair of shots and Okada stops him with a flatliner. Okada gets a running back elbow and then a charge into the corner and a DDT for two. Ricochet drives Okada into the corner and misses a few leaping attacks until he gets a backdrop and a second rope moonsault for two. He gets a running shooting star press for two.

Ricochet goes to the top and Okada avoids the leap and hits a shoulder breaker for two. Okada gets a scoop, a slam, and an elbow drop from the top. He then gives the big finger and sets for the rainmaker. Ricochet hoists Okada, but Okada lands on his feet. They try for holds until Okada gets a drop-kick. Ricochet stops a pile driver into Vertigo for two. 

Ricochet goes to the top for a shooting star press for two. Ricochet calls for the Spirit Gun and Okada dodges it and gets a series of strikes ending with a drop-kick. Both men struggle to get up and are up at five. Ricochet gets a running leaping knee. Okada gets a spinning slam and follows with the rainmaker for the pin and the win.

Winner and moving on: Kazuchika Okada

After the match, Swerve Strickland comes to the stage alone and congratulated Ricochet for making it as far as he did. Swerve says he told Ricochet blew it, which he did, he would embarrass him. He says Ricochet talks a lot of mess and he needs to clean up Ricochet’s mess. Prince Nana then comes out with a wagon full of toilet paper and brings it to the ring and starts handing it to people in the front row. 

Swerve says with the toilet paper, they will wish Ricochet a happy new year. They toss it in the ring like streamers and Ricochet stands there and takes it. 

In the back, Renee interviews Ospreay after he is stitched up. Ospeary says he’s wrestled Okada ten times and lost eight, so he needs Orlando to carry him through. He cuts a big promo and shows he’s a bit lightheaded but fired up for the coming match. 

Mariah May (Women’s World Champion) vs Thunder Rosa - Tijuana Street Fight

Thunder Rosa’s father will be in the front row. Rosa is wearing a chain around her neck and is carrying a piñata. May then holds the belt up in Rosa’s father’s face and Rosa attacks her there. They move into the ring and Rosa gets a sliding clothesline. She follows with a senton for two. May is able to clothesline Rosa, pounds on her and chokes her with a bandana.

Rosa gets in a few more attacks before going to the floor to toss chairs into the ring. Rosa tosses a garbage can into the ring as May rolls out of the ring. She heads to the back and Rosa stops her and they brawl on the ramp to the stage. Rosa gets a DDT on the stage for two. May covers and gets a bottle of tequila, takes a sip and spit it at Rosa. Rosa then spears May through a wooden board for two. 

Rosa grabs a garbage can and May kicks the can and knocks her off the ramp. Rosa and May go to ringside and Rosa nails May with a bottle for two. Rosa rolls May into the ring. Rosa beats down May in the corner and then face plants her into the chairs. Rosa chokes May with a chair and May gets a headbutt. 

Rosa gets a Death Valley Driver for two. Rosa grabs the piñata and opens it to show thumbtacks that fall to the mat. May reverses a pile driver onto the tacks and hits May Day on the tacks for two. May then goes over to Rosa’s dad, takes his hat and cane and mocks him as benign old. May then wraps barbed wire around her knee. She misses a charge into Rosa and hits the steel steps and Rosa's covers for two.

Rosa then goes after May with the cane. Rosa pulls out a table and sets it up as May recovers. She runs up the table as a ramp for a shotgun drop-kick. Rosa covers for two after we get the replay. Both women return to the ring and Rosa uses the chain to choke May. Rosa lets go and sets up a chair, slamming May’s face into it. She goes back to the chain. May is able to grab Rosa’s bag and tosses the dirt from the Tijuana graveyard close to Rosa’s face. She then drives Rosa through a table at ringside for the pin and the win.

Winner and still Women’s World Champion: Mariah May

MJF (Dynamite Diamond ring holder) vs. Adam Cole w/ Matt Taven and Mike Bennett

MJF rolls right out of the ring and Cole follows and attacks him on the floor. Cole rolls MJF into the ring and goes to the top and MJF rolls out of the ring again. Cole follows him and MJF pulls him into the ring steps. MJF swears at the crowd, so that’s our second F-Bomb tonight. 

MJF then rolls out of the ring and runs Cole into the ring post. It looks like Cole is busted open, so we get blood AGAIN. MJF rolls Cole into the ring and starts beating on him and then posing on the top turnbuckle. Cole gets a jawbreaker and lays in strikes. MJF pulls him down by his hair. MJF bites the wound (and can we please stop this crap?)

MJF grabs a rear chinlock and Cole sinks to the mat. Cole fights his way to his feet and fights his way free. Cole tries for a tejaris and MJF stops him and hits a backbreaker for two. Cole gets a super kick as MJF tries for a panama sunrise. Cole gets a series of kicks and a backstabber and follows with a brain buster for two. 

Cole tries for a Panama Sunrise and his knee buckles, and MJF chop blocks it and goes to work on his knee. MJF gets pulled into the ringpost by Cole and now he is busted open. They return to the ring and Cole lays in a series of blows on MJF and then gets nine in the corner and bites MJF. Cole hits Panama Sunrise for two.

Cole goes for the Boom Knee and MJF drops to the mat. Cole tries again and MJF gets a chop block on Cole's knee before he can hit the Boom Knee. They throw hands and MJF is knocked to his knees. MJF is able to grab a figure four leg lock on Cole’s injured knee. Cole flips MJF the bird and turns over the move and MJF crawls to the ropes for a break. 

MJF walks over to the ring and then makes a huge noise on the steel steps and yells Taven and Bennett attack him and they…are…outta here! MJF grabs the ring and Cole superkicks him when he returns to the ring. The ref is distracted by Taven and Bennet and MJF hits a low blow kick followed by the Heat Seeker for the pin and the win.

Winner of the Dynamite Diamond: MJF

MJF grabs a chair and heads to the ring and we are told Taven and Bennett are dealing with security. MJF wants everyone to hear him break Cole’s F-ing leg. Roderick Strong then runs to the ring for the save. MJF heads to the stage where Kyle O’Reilly comes out and drags him back to the ring. Kyle and Roddy hit MJF with the Hi Lo and Kyle helps Cole to his feet. Cole nails MJF with the Dynamite Diamond and drops the ring on MJF’s chest.
