Welcome to my ongoing SummerSlam blog.
Goitta be honest, I am fired up for this one. I even watched the pre-game show, that says it all.
The show opened with Jelly Roll singing God Bless America. Then Triple H came out and asked us if we are ready. He then said one more time for Jelly Roll. He sang Liar. They interspersed videos for the matches for tonight's show. I loved it. I am even more fired up. When wrestling is done like this, it's my jam. Let's go!
Then we heard from out host, The Miz. He's in The Dog Pound. SummerSlam starts right now, with Rhea Ripley taking on Liv Morgan for the Title. Rhea is shown first in the back, with Dom. They are very together. That usually isn't good in wrestling.
Michael Cole, Pat McAfee and Corey Graves are your announcers. Pat gave his presence away when he said that Jelly Roll was awesome and he was right.
Rhea was out first, she's angry. Liv came out second and didn't act scared. We will see.
Samantha Irvin on the call. YES!
And, we're off and the fans are ready. Rhea is the face and Liv bailed right after the bell rang. When they locked up Rhea went to work. Dom is loving it. It feels turny,
Rhea was in control until Liv got control and threw Rhea into the corner and she immediately sold the shoulder. She yelled it's out. She is selling the bad shoulder. She went to the floor to see Dom and Liv attacked her. Liv is now working over the shoulder. There is now a Let's Go Rhea/Let's Go Liv chant off. Love that, it means Liv is getting over.
Oh and we have a ref cam, very cool. Glad you are here Lee Fitting,
Rhea went to the floor and told Dom not to stop the match. Liv came flying out and Dom pushed her away and took the splash from Liv. Rhea got up and my daughter called it, Rhea did the Mel Gibson and popped her shoulder back in place!
Rhea is a pro and is still selling the shoulder. it's not 100 percent because yeah, it wouldn't be. Learn from that gymnasts.
Liv is totally in this. She's working on the arm.
Rhea hit the Eradicator and sold the shoulder, but Liv kicked out. Fans are chanting Mami. This is really good. Liv is showing that she can go.
Liv went out and got a chair. Rhea did more Mel Gibsons on the shoulder. She hit Riptide. She looked at the chair. She grabbed it. She went to use it and Dom grabbed it. But why? Did he save her or did he set up Liv? Either way, Oblivion and Liv got a two. Fans are chanting Holy Shit that Rhea kicked out. Dom distracted the ref and Liv hit Oblivion on the chair. Dom smiled as he walked away. He is not upset about what he did.
No he isn't he picked up Liv and kissed her and presented her with the Title. He f'd Rhea! Oh man, where do we go from here? Tune in Monday and find out. Pat wanted to call Dom a piece of shit but didn't. Cole said say it. Pat did.
I loved it.
When we came back Damien Priest was pissed about what happened. He asked the rest of The Judgment Day if they knew that was coming. Finn got a little pissed at being asked and then said no. Oh yeah, Priest is turning tonight.
Time for Bron Breakker to try and win the IC Title.
Bron started slowly, with Sami using his vet knowledge but then the young guy took over. He hit a BreakenSteiner from the top on Sami.
Bron is telling Sami to quit. Sami has other ideas. He got a two on a Blue Thunder Bomb. He hit an Exploder but ran into a Spear. Bron then showed his freakish agility and did a high speed Spear to get the win. Solid, short match, with the right finish for reasons I mentioned in the Tip Sheet. I still think Sami moves on to bigger things when he joins The Battle Of Bloodline.
