The building looks great, seriously great. SoFi is a great stadium for sure and WWE fans have turned out. The set is really cool, with a Hollywood theme t it.
Becky G did a great job with America The Beautiful. Kevin Hart joined us to preview the card.
Michael Cole then welcomed us and turned it over to our host, The Miz, who was in the ring with Snoop Dogg. They did a great job of hyping up the crowd and the show, then out came our US Champion, Austin Theory. Champ out first when the other guy is a legend.
Cole is joined by Corey Graves, who congratulated Cole for calling his 22nd Mania, most in history. Before Cena came out, they showed a video for Make A Wish, who Cena has been a superstar for.
When they came back from the video Make A Wish kids who got to attend the show were on the stage. Then Cena came out to a massive pop. He put the kids over before going to the ring. Say what you want about Cena but the dude does so much good. When he hit the ring, the pop was massive. He deserves it.
The fans are doing the Let’s Go Cena - Cena Sucks chants to make him feel at home.
Theory is working total heel early, including biting Cena’s ear. He was in total control early. I hope it doesn’t mean he will lose. John is coming back. But Theory heeled him again. Now he is mocking Cena. Uh oh.
John went for the AA but Theory turned it into a DDT for another two count. Theory then locked on a sleeper. John has been selling most of the way.
Cena powered out and came back with a few shoulders and a slam. The fans got the 5 knuckle. He went for the AA. Theory got the rope and Cena pulled him off, hitting the ref. Cena locked on the STF. Theory tapped but the ref didn’t see it. Cena let go, thinking he won. Theory went to the nuts. A Town Down. Your winner, Austin Theory.
That was exactly what it should have been. Theory looked great. Cena was the pro’s pro who gave to the kid. The match went exactly as it should have. Now if Vince were still booking, I fear it would have gone differently. Good start to the show.
Titus O’Neil joined the announcers as the men’s showcase Fatal Four Way tag match started. It only took a minute or two for all four men hit the ring and the brawl started.
Damn, Chad Gable just did a rolling German into a bridge on Braun Strowman. That was bad ass. Then Braun did a big splash off of the top. Otis did the big slam on Braun. This is all action, which is what it should be since it was just thrown together.
Ricochet defies gravity. Wow. In the end, Street Profits got the win when Dawkins caught Ric flying in and Montez splashed him in the back. This match was a lot of fun.
