After showing a video of Dom surviving jail and being put into the paddy wagon, the wagon appeared in the building. Dom got a special Mania entrance and he is wearing a Rey mask. He is led to the ring by officers. Cool stuff. He took off the mask before he got to the ring. As bad as Dom was as a face, he’s good as a heel.
Cole is irate that Dom wore a mask he didn’t earn. The crowd hates him. Mom and sis are there, looking on with disdain. I wonder if Bad Bunny will get involved.
Not to be outdone, Rey came to the ring in a low rider driven by Snoop and as it came in the building we got Eddy’s theme before Rey’s. This story is so well done and they could go either way here but it’s all about the emotional investment to me so if Rey loses because he falls for his son’s BS, I can accept that. Better yet though if that happens, I hope the new LWO makes his appearance.
I like that they explained why Rhea wasn’t there, she has business to take care of.
Early on Rey was in control and took off his belt and whipped the ingrate demon spawn so Dom went to the floor and threw a drink in his sister’s face. That brought Dad over and Rey attacked him from behind. Dom is in control and Cole is outraged.
Dom is beating up his dad and talking smack to him mom. She slapped him and then Rey took him down. Rey got a two and is fired up.
And then Damian Priest appeared. And then Finn, We need the lWo. Dom flapjacked Rey into the corner for a two count.
Dom did the Eddy wiggle and went for Three Amigos. He got one before eating a 619. Balor got involved and made the save. If Legado comes out they will blow the roof off. Or Bad Bunny.
As if on cue, here comes the lWo and the fans love it. Santos below Priest away with a tope. Dom set up Rey for the 619 and hit it, then a Frog Splash but Rey kicked out at two!
Dom is undoing the top turnbuckle. Then he grabbed a chain that Priest gave him. Bad Bunny stopped him and Rey hit the 619 and The Frog Splash, 1-2-3!
I LOVED it. I get that some people don’t care about the story of
the match but I do and I loved what they did here and so did the crowd! Great stuff.
Rey brought his wife and daughter into the ring after the match and they all got to take in his pop. It was cool.
Time for Charlotte Flair to defend against Rhea Ripley. Challenger is out first. Than the champ.
Rhea got a huge babyface reaction. Charlotte got a mixed reaction. If they want to do a double turn, it will work. It was the first time it was all women. That’s cool.
I just watched. God, it was awesome. They had a match for the ages. It was rough ugly at times, in all the right ways. They just beat each other from pillar to post. It’s one of those matches where both people come out better. It was a star making performance for Rhea and a big part of the reason for that, other than her talent, is that once that bell rings, Charlotte is an all time great. Rhea moves to Fridays, and maybe away from Judgment Day. Great, Great match.
