Before the main event, Miz and Snoop came out to give us the attendance. Snoop said Miz should have a match. Miz said he asked for one but no one stepped up. Pat McAfee came out and called his bluff. They had an impromptu match, which Pat won with help from the 49ers George Kittle. It was a fun segment but I think the fans weren’t as into it as they would have been had they not anticipated the main event, which is up next.
And yeah, those fans are ready because they are popping for tomorrow night’s matches as they get run down.
Time for KO and Sami vs. The Usos for the Tag Titles.
I was just telling my wife two things. One, don’t reinvent the wheel here. No swerves. Give the people what they want and as the intros showed, they want new champs. Two, for anyone wondering if Vince is still booking consider this. John Cena lost to a young guy. The Tag Belts are headlining night one of Mania. Let’s go!
Usos are wearing white. Odd choice since they are the heels. Jimmy was in the ring and when Sami faced off, he wanted Jay and he got him. They are starting the match. They are mugging Sami early on and mocking KO.
Sami found a way to make his own save and hot tag. KO went to the top and plundered the champs on the floor. He hit a frog splash on the floor on Jey and then in the ring on Jimmy. But Jey turned the tide. Usos are in full control but KO kicks out.
The faces cleaned house and got close but it was too soon. Two count only. Sami frog splash on Jimmy, two count only. It’s too soon to end it. Ole chant started!
But The Usos went back into Usos Penitentiary mode and are destroying the faces, especially Sami. They tried to put Sami out but he kicked out. It’s heat building time. KO is out and Sami is taking a beating but KO is back. He’s got Jimmy on the floor and he is beating him down. Jey came down and made the save and they there him through the announce table. KO is dead. Well for now at least. Sami is on his own for a while.
They hit 1D and Sami kicked out! Cole is losing his mind, in the best way! Jey is like WTF??? Sami won’t die!
Jey faced off and went after Sami. He said I called you my brother. He beat down already beaten down Sami. But Sami is coming back, doing uber babyface work. Jey hit him with the Helluva Kick while talking smack. Sami came back with an Exploder in the corner. No way the faces don’t win here. The crowd will riot. KO is back! He wants the tag. He had it. Pop up on Jimmy. Then Jey. Sami with the Helluva. KO with a Stunner. TWO COUNT ONLY! Cole is awesome. You can tell he is loving every bit of this and his call reflects it. I love losing his mind Cole.
All four men are up and facing off. The crowd is losing its mind. FISTS ARE FLYING! KO takes double super kicks. Sami did too when he came for the save. Usos are up for the double splash. TWO COUNT ONLY!!!!! People are losing their shizzle!
This is a war. Usos are working on KO. It’s time to kill KO Jimmy said. But Sami took out Jimmy and KO nuked Jey from the top. Sami wants the tag. He has gotten it. He blasted Hey with the Helluva. He is now talking smack to Jey and then hit him again with another. Jimmy came in to stop him but KO hit the Stunner. Sami lined up and another Helluva. 1-2-3-! NEW CHAMPIONS! Fans are losing their f’n minds. GREAT SHIT! Yeah, I can curse. I own this site. GREAT SHIT!
Man, that was awesome. Totally awesome. If you know me, you know that the characters and the stories are every bit as important as the moves. This was a huge payoff to a great story.
If Cody loses tomorrow, fans got their big ending tonight. If not, they will get two. Great night one of Mania. I can’t wait for tomorrow!
