Steph and HHH told Seth Rollins he was the man in the back in a pep talk. They said they think he is ready. Sheamus walked up with the briefcase and said yes, he is ready, and tapped the case. Rollins is in white again, so they could book him like a huge babyface, winning his two matches and then have him beat Sheamus too, then have him turn and say that he realized he is the best and doesn’t need anyone and I think it would work if they booked it correctly.

Anyway, Seth is going back to back. The party begins soon.

His first match is against John Cena and it's beginning at 10:08 ET.

This crowd would be receptive to a Rollins face turn.  Or, a lot of them just hate Cena.

Anyway they are selling that Seth wants to get this down asap to get to his next match, which makes sense.  Over the early part of the match, Rollins has been more in control than Cena overall.  He isn’t working like a heel at all, more like (finally) a guy who want to work hard and get a win. …  At 12 minutes in, Rollins went for a Frog Splash and missed (the crowd chanted Eddie).  So Cena went to work and got a near fall.

Rollins came back with a Superplex and another suplex and got a two.  The announcers started selling how Rollins is being impressive.  Maybe they are going to turn him Face.  Now that would be interesting.  That quick, Cena locked in the STF.  Rollings got to the ropes and Cena went for the AA. Rollins powered out and hit an AA.  Rollins is totally working babyface here.  They had a great exchange and then Cena went to the top and hit the leg drop, followed by the AA.  John Cena wins.  And my hopes for this show ending on a positive note went right out the window.  No matter what happens next, Rollins fresh is worse than Cena.  Yay, see the new boss, same as the old boss.  The match itself was great, the finish not so much.

After working like a babyface, Rollins grabbed his World Title and tried to go to the back, JACK.  But JACK Cena wouldn’t let that happen.  He carried him back and AA’d him on the floor, then threw him into the ring.

Sting is on his way to the ring.  I wouldn't be shocked to see Sting win and Sheamus cash in now.  The booking, OY, the booking.

So Sting as in control most of the way, then he tried to put Rollins through an announce table.  Rollins reversed it and acted like Rollins was the bad guy.  Unreal.  Sting has now gone through the Spanish Announce Table.  Rollins teases leaving, wastes time and then goes back and throws Sting in the ring, of course not getting the fall.   So then he started inflicting pain on Sting since he had him out.  Rollins worked over Sting and got near falls, but no pin.  Sting weathered the storm and came back, even hitting a splash from the top turnbuckle to the floor.  He was in control but then he went down and they brought in the ringside doctor who is not Amman. Sting was cleared to come back and locked on the Scorpion Deathlock.  Rollins got to the ropes.  Rollins went for the Pedigree again, Sting reversed and went for the Scorpion again, but Rollins rolled him up and got the win.

Sheamus then came out and was going to cash in after kicking Rollins when Kane’s music hit.  Sheamus bailed and Kane, in his old outfit, hit the ring and chokeslammed Rollins.  Sheamus gave him crap for it and he chokeslammed him too.  Kane then did a tombstone on Seth, and that is how the night ended.

As far as the work went, the match was great.  Sting brought it and Rollins was Rollins.  Kane’s return at least made sense and I am sure a lot of people will be happy to see him back again under his old persona.

From a perspective of the recent loss in audience, I don’t think they did anything tonight to get the people that have left excited enough to come back.  It felt like a space filler show where the booking was like last month’s SummerSlam, largely uninspired.  Other than John Cena and maybe Kane, no one came out of the show stronger than they went in.
