After showing us a tribute to the great Women’s Champions of the past, they showed a vignette of Nikki Bella’s run as Divas Champion, as well as the finish of the match from last week’s Raw.

The Divas Championship match is next.

Nikki dominated the match early on, using her power to work over Charlotte’s knee.  OK, she dominated clear on through from early to well into the match.  Nikki got a bunch of near falls, while Charlotte kicked out.  Nikki kept working over the leg.  To the point where Charlotte looked like a jabroni.  That had better change soon.  And right after I typed that, it did.  Charlotte made a comeback and hit a big boot and sold her leg as she made a cover for two.  Nikki kicked the leg and got another near fall.  Andrew are back to Nikki squashing Charlotte again.  This is not a bit fun to watch.  It’s a mauling, which is fine when Brock Lesnar does it.  It’s not when Nikki does it. … Charlotte then hit a Spear and then locked on the Figure 8.  Nikki tapped and Charlotte won the Title.  It was the right finish but man, it was the wrong way to get there.  Instead of making Charlotte look strong throughout, instead it came across like she got in a lucky shot and won.  Bad way to book it.  Really, really bad.  I can see Nikki doing the “You got lucky” schtick tomorrow. … After the match, Ric Flair came in and celebrated with his daughter.  And of course, he cried, which was awesome.  Then, father and daughter did the Strut.  They cried together.  That was the best part of the whole match.

Kevin Owens then did a promo saying he didn’t need a stupid book to win, like Ryback.  He knew he was great and he proved it.

Now it’s time to find out who the tag partner of the former Shield is.  The Wyatts came out first, of course.  We need to build the suspense.  First out for the opponents is Dean Ambrose, through the rampway.  Then of course, Roman Reigns, through the crowd.  They went in the ring and an a hole came out of the crowd and almost made it into the ring.  Security grabbed him and took him out.  I think WWE needs to start taking those losers.  Anyway, then Chris Jericho’s music hit, oy vey.  Yay, let’s go to the past to once again bring an old guy back to help the youngsters when they can’t get the job done.  Unless they have the Wyatts destroy him, this is ridiculous.  What sane person would look at Jericho and Braun Strowman and say, “Yeah, I will take the little dude in that fight!”? No one.  This was built up as the former Shield needing a monster to help beat a monster.  This was the spot for Baron Corbin to debut.  But the fans are happy to see him so what can I say.

So anyway, the Wyatts dominated early.  Strowman, because is huge and all, helped them keep dominating the former Shield and Y2TheWrongGuyToSignToFightAGiant.  Color me shocked.  I would have known to get a guy over 5’10” to fight a giant.  I guess I am smarter than Reigns and Ambrose.  To be fair, the crowd popped every time Jericho came in  because, well, he was booked to be over a decade ago.  Maybe they can learn from that. … Jericho tagged in and got the Walls on Bray, after knocking the other two Wyatts to the floor.  Jericho getting the win would be the worst possible finish so I was shocked when they had Harper break it up. … Ambrose came in and they went at it, with them doing the double clothesline spot.  Strowman and Reigns wanted the hot tags and got them.  Strown took two Superman punches and didn’t go down.  Ambrose helped and down he went.  Reigns hit the Spear.  The crowd chanted for Jericho so he tagged himself in.  He hit the Lionsault, but got a two.  He wen for the Codebreaker but Strowman powered out and dumped him.  The crowd booed, I cheered.  Braun locked him into his submission while the crowd chanted Y2J.  Nope, he passed out instead.  YES!

The match was good was good from an action standpoint but Jericho should not have been the one to move the needle in this feud.  And they at least realized that because he didn’t.  Now, they can still bring in Baron Corbin to make this work.  Yes, I want Baron Corbin in the spot, dammit!

After the match the fans chanted for Jericho as Reigns and Ambrose stood looking at him.  He walked through them, like a jerk, and went to the back.  They should have beaten his ass for doing that, but they didn't.
