Well, my Apple TV was running fine an hour ago and crapped out some time between then and 4:45. It took until Ryback was coming out to connect to the Network again, after kicking me off once. I hope this is not an omen.
As usual, your announcers are Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and JBL.
We are opening with Ryback and Kevin Owens. That made the fans happy. Ryback got a decent pop. Kevin Owens got a big one. Houston is behind KO.
The match started with Ryback doing power moves for a few minutes before KO came back and went to work on his arm. … KO worked on the arm for a while until Ryback came back. He went for the big clothesline but ran into a kick to the face, getting a two count for Owens.
Ryback went for Shellshocked but “the shoulder gave out”. KO then rammed the shoulder into the post. He then went to work on the shoulder with an armbar. They wondered if Ryback would tap. No, he stood up and dumped Owens, to a lot of boos. Ryback got KO up for the Shellshocked but Owens raked his eyes. He rolled up Ryback and won the IC Title.
It was fine for what it was, as it was more of a “sell the shoulder” kind of match than a barnburner.
They announced that next month is Brock Lesnar Go To Hell Tour month on the Network. First we have Brock on MSG. Then he is on the Steve Austin Podcast. Finally on 10/25, it’s him vs. Undertaker in Hell In A Cell.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev is next.
This started as pretty much every Ziggler match does, he got in some quick offense and then quickly found himself getting beaten down and fighting his way back. … Oh yeah, Dolph Ziggler’s new look looks like he was watched Bret Hart-Shawn Michaels matches and morphed their gear. … Anyway, Dolph kept fighting back from adversity and after the early beatdown, it got pretty even. Ziegler was in control when Summer go on the apron and rudely got bumped in. The ref told her to take a hike. Rusev got in the ref’s face, as Summer threw her shoe at the ref, but hit Rusev, leaving him open for a Zig Zag. Yes, you read that correctly. That was the finish. 1-2-3 Ziggler wins. It was a good, solid match. I am not into the storyline at all, but that’s just me. I expect it to continue.
They showed Nikki Bella preparing for her match by doing push up. Charlotte prepared by hugging Becky Lynch and getting a fist bump from her Dad, The Nature Boy.
Tag Title match is next.
The New Day came out first. Houston thinks that they suck. X Woods says Houston has a problem, The Dudleys are destroying their tables. The New Day will save the tables. They did a long promo about saving the tables. They did get some fans to chant Save The Tables. That brought out the Dudleys. I was kind of hoping to hear Drop The Bombshell but it was not meant to be.
X Woods with the Trombone has a bit of the DJ Z airhorn gimmick to it.
The match started out with Big E calling Bubba an old man and telling him to go home. I don’t see him doing that. The Duds were in control early. When they came back and took control, Woods started playing the trombone and yelling.
The action was very good back and forth until The Dudleys hit 3D and X Woods came in and broke it up, getting his team DQ’d. But, they remain the champions. They laid the Dudleys out after the match. Then Big E yelled, “Woods, get the tables!” As they were setting them up, some fans chanted, “Save The Tables”. Woods was playing the trombone as his partners set them up, but the Duds came back, tossed out Kofi and Big E and put Woods through the table.
The match was really good and having The Dudleys involved made the tag titles seem more important given their history with them.
