Konosuke Takeshita (AEW International Champion) vs Ricochet

Don Callis joins commentary.

Ricochet uses his speed for an early advantage. Once they go to the floor, Takeshita is able to take control and then starts working over Ricochet methodically in the ring, going after Ricochet’s back. The announcers do a solid job of talking about how Takeshita works a match, letting his opponent tire himself out and then breaking him down physically.

The crowd was quiet for the Perry/Garcia match and they are just as quiet for this one. It’s poor placement for this match, since it necessarily needs to be a slower pace match when the fans want Ricochet to be a high-flier here. As I watch the match, unless they are going to have Ricochet doing a lot as the match moves along, they should let Takeshita finish him.

When Ricochet hits a big dive the crowd starts to get into it. Don Callis drops the headset and goes to ringside as Ricochet gets a 450 for two. Having Callis go to ringside also woke the crowd up, which was a good move. From there, any big move got a big reaction, with Takeshita getting a Blue Thunder Bomb got a huge pop.

Ricochet gets a few high-flying moves for two counts. They tease a series of finishing moves into two counts. Takeshita hits a version of a Blue Thunder Bomb from the second rope for the pin and the win.

Winner and still AEW International Champion: Konosuke Takeshita

The crowd was in and out on this one, and in a lot of ways, the match was too long.  Great matches come from style clashes, but this one just didn’t connect on most levels.  Ricochet needs to have spot fests for the fans to relate.

Swerve Strickland w/Prince Nana vs Bobby Lashley w/MVP and Shelton Benjamin

Jim Ross joins commentary.

Lashley just runs through Swerve and beats him down in the corner. Bobby just manhandles Swerve and Nana hypes up the crowd.  It’s incredible how fast the match grabbed the crowd back, even with it just being Bobby beating Swerve pillar to post.

Swerved gets a brief attack on Bobby, but then gets distracted by Benjamin so that Lashley can take over again. The second time Benjamin interferes by grabbing at Swerve’s boot, the ref says that he…is…outta here! Sadly, it doesn’t help Swerve much as Bobby tosses him into a chair at ringside. Bobby sets up the steel steps and tries to power slam Swerve into it, but Swerve escapes out the back and runs Bobby into them. Swerve then slams Bobby’s head into them over and over again.

Swerve gets a DDT on Lashley to the floor. Swerve then gets a Swerve stomp putting Bobby through the Spanish Announce Table. Swerve rolls Bobby into the ring for another Swerve Stomp for two. The fight goes to the floor and Bobby spears Swerve into the barricades, and they go through them. They return to the ring and Bobby gets another spear. Lashley gets the Hurt Lock (a full nelson) and the ref calls the match.

Winner: Bobby Lashley

GREAT job making Bobby look like the top dog and an unbeatable monster.

Lashley drags Nana into the ring and puts him in the Hurt Lock as well.

Jon Moxley (AEW Champion) w/Marina Shafir vs Orange Cassidy

Cassidy attacks with Orange Punches right out of the gate and then goes after Mox on the floor and Cassidy grounds and pounds Mox on the announcer’s table. The fight spills into the crowds and Mox takes over; they throw hands all around the ring. Mox gets a curb stomp on the steel steps and Cassidy is busted open.

From here, Mox just beats down Cassidy in the ring. They move to the floor and it’s just a brawl. Cassidy is leaving blood all over the ring as Mox continues the beat down and Cassidy defies him and taking each attack. As they brawl, the story is that Cassidy won’t go down.  After they fight on the top, Mox is knocked to the mat and when Cassidy leaps, Mox just nails him in the head with a right hand. That looked ugly.

The second time this happens, Cassidy is able to hit a DDT from the second rope. Mox then cuts him off with a stunner.; Cassidy does the soft kicks into a pair of Orange Punches and a casadora for two. Cassidy gets a beach break for two.

At this point, Claudio Castagnoli and Pac come to the ringside area. They get on the apron slowly and the ref tells them to get down. This brings out Tonohiro Ishii and Kyle O’Reilly to pull them off the apron. Rocky Romero dives onto them. In the ring, Shafir gets in the ring with the case and Willow Nightingale hits the ring to beat down Shafir. Cassidy has the steel case and nails Mox with it for two.

Cassidy pulls down the elbow pad. Mox pulls the ref in front of him and Yuta hits Cassidy with a psycho knee and Mox then hits the death rider for the pin and the win.

Winner and still AEW Champion: Jon Moxley

After the match, Yuta pours cleaning fluid on Cassidy’s face, but Adam Page hits the ring and takes out Yuta with a chair. He jacks jaws with Mox and Christiaan Cage hits the ring, hits Mox with a Killswitch and Page goes to the back.

Before Cage can sign the contract, Jay White hits him with the Blade Runner. Claudio and Pac then attack White. Mox is helped to the back by Shafir and White calls for Pac to come back and fight him.

White grabs a chair and goes to the back.  We see the Death Riders headed to their truck, but it’s hit by a painted car. They steal a truck and we see the car was driven by Darby Allin, who attacks their wrecked truck with his skateboard and we are out of time!
