Triple H comes to the ring. He wanted to say thank you for being great hosts. The official attendance is 52,590.
We are down to the main event - Rhea Ripley vs. Nia Jax.
After Ripley was cut off from seeing her family for so long during the pandemic, I can't speak enough on how happy I am for her and her family to enjoy this moment in her home country. In a lot of ways, I could argue that Ripley is one of the best characters in the entire compant right now. Her work is impeccable and she deserves everything she has gotten in recent years. Without her, Judgement Day doesn't become the force that it is for the company. Dom isn't the star he is. She earned it all.
Big reaction for Ripley and lots of pyro.
The story was Rhea, wrestling in front of home for the first time in seven years, was pulling out a lot that she usually doesn't do and had control early. Jax walloped her and began working her over, the heel beating down the hometown hero. She stomped Rhea and went for a submission with a Stretch Muffler. She then locked on a Torture Rack but Rhea was able to slide out and transition into a guillotine choke. Jax was able to send her to the mat but missed a sit-down splash.
Jax caught her coming off the ropes and nailed several powerbombs and a legdrop for a two count. Rhea made a comeback and nailed a missile dropkick off the top. Jax cut her off with a Samoan Drop. They battled back and forth. Rhea enduring the beating and made a comeback. She nailed a frog splash off the ropes for a two count. She went for Riptide but Jax blocked it and tossed her to the floor.
Jax went to kick her from the apron but was caught and knocked off to the floor. Rhea went to powerbomb her through the table but Jax escaped the move and hit a Samoan Drop on the table, which didn't break. She nailed an elbow, smashed Rhea through the table. Back in the ring, she nailed a Banzai Splash but Ripley kicked out.
Ripley and Nia battled in the corner. Ripley nailed a superplex. She drilled Jax with a kick to the head, nailed Riptide and scored the pin.
A good main event to close the show. It may have been the best ever Nia Jax match, period. She was Andre to Rhea's Hogan.
They showed Ripley's family in the first row. She went and sat on the guard rail in front of them and they embraced her. Rhea returned to the ring to celebrate to close the show.
A really damn good show. Off to Wrestlemania, we go!
