Continental Classic Finals to crown Triple Crown Champion: Jon Moxley vs. Eddie Kingston.

Danielson tags in for commentary.

They start by jacking jaws and the crowd is cheering for all of it. Eddie is getting Sting level chants. The commentary team says it will be Eddie the striker vs Mox the grappler. They spend time feeling each other out and the crowd just gets louder as they do so. They move to trading chops and build to harder strikes.  I’m liking this so far.

They return to the ring and keep up with chops and kicks. Mox is finally able to take over with his holds and attacks and Eddie is wincing and limping after each of Mox’s attacks. They each hit big moves after chops and strikes that knock them both down.  They then move to near falls, and this feels like a good New Japan brawl, the old “war of attrition”.

Mox moves to submissions, and Eddie moves to big moves. Danielson’s commentary as he cheers for Mox is well done. This is his best outing at the desk, probably because this is his kind of match.

They crawl to each other and trade blows back and forth. Eddie wethers the blows, gets mad and nails Mox with a spinning back fist for the pin and the win.

Winner of the Continental Classic: Eddie Kingston

Mox’s best match in ages. These guys made Minoru Suzuki proud with how brutal it was without having to have a bunch of stupid spots.  And good for Eddie.

Eddie and Mox hug after the match.

Tony Schaivone takes over for Danielson at Commentary.

AEW Champion MJF vs. Samoa Joe.

We get a video of people talking about how MJF is a Long Island guy and he will win because he’s their scumbag.

MJF takes his time once he gets in the ring, and we then get ADAM!!! Cole, Bay-Bay. Joe is pissed about it. MJF is dressed all in white and Adam Cole is dressed all in black.

MJF is selling a shoulder injury and Joe goes right after it. Joe starts with power moves and MJF has to fight from underneath. Joe hits moves on MJF’s arms and then pauses to enjoy himself. Joe goes for the muscle buster early, and MJF is able to escape.

I would like to see MJF in a PPV title defense where he’s not already injured.

MJF tries to skin the cat and Joe kicks him in the head as he tries.  Joe then works over MJF with big moves, suplexes and other finishing moves. Joe hits a muscle buster on the apron, which I hear is the hardest part of the ring. MJF keeps kicking out at the very last second. MJF iss able to fire up and go after Joe in the corner. MJF keeps trying the Kangaroo kick, and Joe keeps blocking it.

MJF tries to get Joe in a fireman’s carry, but he just can’t hold him up. MJF tries for Salt of the Earth, but it’s hard for him to grab it with his injured arm. Joe reverses and locks on the arm bar. MJF slowly pulls himself to the ropes for the break. MJF gets out of a rear choke and runs Joe into the corner, for our ref bump.

MJF hits a low blow on Joe on the top, puts Joe in a fireman’s carry, and then walks out slowly with Joe for a F5 slam. MJF puts an arm on Joe and it’s only a two count. MJF calls for the Dynamite Diamond and Cole hands it to him. Joe grabs the rear choke and MJF rolls into a two count on Joe. Joe grabs a Coquina Clutch. The arm drops three times and MJF is out.

Winner and NEW AEW World Champion: Samoa Joe

Joe leaves the ring and Cole gets in with his crutches.Cole gives him a pep talk. They both struggle to their feet and the Devil’s Goons show up. They charge the ring and grab MJF and then grab Cole to make him watch as they bring in a chair. Coel yells for them to hit him instead and the lights go out.

When the lights come on, Cole is sitting in the chair and the goons are Roderick Strong, thet Kingdom and Wardlow. Wardlow power bombs MJF and Cole pulls out the Devil mask. He drops the mask on MJF’s prone body and stands over him in triumph. And we are desperately out fo time.
