In the back, Judgment Day is pissed. Priest doesn’t want to leave like this. He asserts he will cash in after the main event. Rhea told him no, you are in bad shape. Not tonight.
Time for Seth Rollins to defend his World Title against Shinsuke Nakamura. 5 matches. Not 20. This is so HHH NXT like. B Shows are fine with 5 matches and this show has been great. Challenger out first.
Challenger out first, then the champ. It’s the Seth reaction you expect, the fans are signing their butts off.
Rollins is en feugo early, as you would expect. Plunder city. But Rollins took too long to destroy and Shinsuke sucked him in and took control. Rollins is really selling the back with the kinesiology tape.
Shin has nunchakus. Love it!
By the way that is how they are spelled!
Now Shin is plundering Rollins.
It is a whole lot of back-and-forth, with a lot of damage being done by both men.
Seth hit a Stomp, but Shin got up at eight. Seth grabbed a big ladder from under the ring and blasted Shin with it, but couldn’t get the win. So instead, he set it up near the announce table. Shin got off the table before Seth could put him through it.
They are now brawling around the building. Rollins got kicked out of the stands down to the floor in a nasty spot but he got up before 10. Seth took a backdrop on the cement floor, but again he still got up before 10. He’s now back in the ring, and Shane is chasing.
Shin thought he had him, but Seth hit a Pedigree. Shin just made it to his feet before the count of 10.
With Shin in control the fans started chanting Seth song. That didn’t help though because Shin did a great double knees on Seth from the apron, through a table on the floor. Ouch! Seth fight and beat the count, but then Shin went to work on him with a chair.
Seth managed to come back and post Shin. Now he’s looking at the ladder at ringside. He wants to put Shin through the table. He’s selling the beating, but he still threw Nakamura on the table.
By the way, Cole is losing his mind. He just said that Rollins is going to kill himself, which is an excellent sell job. Take in what you are watching announcers and relay it to the audience, especially if you are a guy wearing a mask when you do your job.
Shin had Rollins but he kept getting back up, inspiring the crowd. The fans are chanting, “This is awesome”. They’re back in the ring. Shin is working over Seth. Nakamura threw Rollins through the table. Cole is selling it like Seth is going to die in the ring, again doing what a real announcer should do. Seth managed to roll to the floor so that he could stand up before the 10 count buthe’s back down on the floor.
No matter what happens, Nakamura looks so much better after this match. He’s a killer. He’s beating Rollins around the arena and it looks like another table is about to happen but out of nowhere, Rollins hit a Pedigree and a Stomp.
Seth came back and hit the Falcon Arrow off the lower arena area through a table. This should do it. And it did. At the count of nine Shin fell down and Seth got up. Great match. Excellent main event and a really, really good show. I am really glad that they already took the money in the bank briefcase out of the picture because people would’ve been expecting it after that. Excellent booking on that end.
Overall a strong show, as I said before very NXT Takeover like. I LOVE the five match PPVs.
