COMPLETE AEW ALL IN BLOG

By Cory Strode on 2023-08-27 12:34:00

It’s the pre-show for All In at Wembley Stadium in London England, AEW Zero Hour, and we have recaps of the feuds and upcoming matches with Renee Paquette and Kip Sabian.

The setup is incredibly impressive, and the crowd looks monstrous.

The Commentary team for the first match is Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Taz.

Aussie Open (Kyle Richards and Mark Davis) Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions vs MJF and Adam Cole

Aussie Open attack before the bell as MJF and Cole doing their in ring pose. They hit the Collider first thing off and it’s a fast paced match with Auddie Open dominating all through the beginning. The announcers put over that Cole may not tag in to allow MJF take a beat down.

When MJF tries to set up for the kangaroo kick, we get a chant for it, which is impressive.  Cole tags in and he gets to dominate Fletcher, which is different than MJF getting beat down for the first part of the match. Aussie Open cuts off the big spots like the double clothesline or MJF hitting a dive.

When MJF hits the kangaroo kick, the crowd explodes.  They then hit the double clothesline and Cole covers for the pin and the win.

Winners and NEW Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions:  MJF and Adam Cole

Well, that throws a twist into the story.

Paul Wight and Anthony Ogogo joins Renee and Kip, and they show Mercedes Monet in the crowd. They are using a lot fo the video packages from last night’s special on TNT hyping the show.

Jim Ross joins the commentary team.

Jack Perry (FTW Champion) vs Hook

Perry shows up in a Limo and the announcers put over that he is “Hollywood Royalty”.

They start brawling on the runway to the ring and beat each other up all around and on top of the Limo.  Perry hits a Rolling Thunder on the top of the limo and then tells the camera that the windshield in real glass “Cry my a river.”  Hook hits a fisherman buster Perry into the windshield.

Hook then drags Perry to ringside. When they get to the ring, Perry takes over and tosses a garbage can into the ring. It also looks like Hook has a legit cut on his back. They move to giving each other a series of suplexes. Hook is able to lock in the Redrum after bashing Perry in the head with the garbage can.

Winner and NEW FTW Champion: Hook

Really well done brawl that gave the crowd what they wanted.

It’s time for AEW All In from Wembley Stadium in London England.  The Commentary team will have people moving in and out all night.

We start with Excalibur, Jim Ross and Nigel McGuinness

CM Punk (REAL AEW World Champion) vs Samoa Joe

Punk’s ovation is incredibly positive, and I couldn't hear any of the “mixed reaction” he gets in the US.

They start slow, letting the crowd drink this in, Once Joe takes over, the pace picks up and with him going after Punk with power.  As it goes on, with him just dominating, any time Punk gets a chance for a hope spot, the crowd gives a mixed reaction. As they brawl ont he outside, Punk is tossed through the wooden banner in the front of the announce table, and when Punk is pulled out, he’s busted open.

As the match goes on, Punk is fighting from underneath,a dn Joe takes his time after each big move to let the crowd to react.  He hasn't worked in front of a crowd this big as far as I can remember, but he’s doing a fantastic job. Punk does his Hulk Hogan Drop The Leg bit, and Joe powers up from it like a babyface, and Punk does the Huge Shock like a heel.

Joe puts Punk in the STF and holds it for a while until Punk rolls it over for a two count. Punk gets a standing toe hold to honor Terry Funk.  When they go to the top, Punk bits Joe and hits him with the Pepsi Plunge for the pin and the win.

Winner and still REAL AEW Champion: CM Punk

These men worked that crowd like masters.  Thematch was good, but the way they drew the crowd into it made it feel bigger/

Kenny Omega, Adam Page and Kota Ibushi vs Jay White, Juice Robinson, and Konosuke Takeshita

The Gunns come to the ring with Jay and Juice, but sadly, Cardboard Jay White stayed back in the US. Don Callis comes to the ring with Takeshita. Don moves to commentary.

Omega gets the first pyro of the day.

Page and Juice start the match and after they run the ropes, Omega is tagged in and he and Page bounce Juice between the two of them with chops. Ibushi is tagged in and Juice tags in White. They have a sequence where Ibushi takes White's best shots and then drops White. When Takeshita tags in, he works with Ibushi and Omega, leading to the Terminator Dive from Omega.

Since Omega got his big move in, he gets beaten down in the ring and gets to be the babyface in peril and White’s team works him over with quick tags and double teams. The causes the tag team siren to go off, and each member of Omega’s team comes in one and a time to get taken down. It then returns to Omega as the babyface in peril. Omega finally gets to make the tag and the Gunns pull Page and Ibushi off the apron.

Page is able to get the hot tag and goes through his greatest hits. Lots of dives and then hits a big dive off the top onto White that the crowd thought would be in the ending. Ibushi and White face off again. Maybe it’s just me, but Ibushi still looks like he’s shaking off the ring rust when he’s working with anyone but White.

White gets to take moves from each member of Omega’s team with Juice and Takeshita on the ground recovering. We then finally get Omega and Takeshita in the ring, but they don't work each other long as White and Juice come in one at a time to take Omega’s suplexes. We go back to one on one, but soon we get tandem offense with Omega and Page.. This leads t o each person taking out the precious person.

The ending of the match is Omega taking out White and Juice with V Triggers, and Takeshita sneaks in to grab the most devastating move of ALL of professional wrestling, the surprise roll up for the pin and the win.

Winners:  Jay White, Juice Robinson, and Konosuke Takeshita

Felt a lot like a New Japan match, and all six men went all out for the entire time. A shock ending that silenced the crowd, but it does mean the feud continues.

FTR (AEW Tag Team Champions) vs The Young Bucks

The match starts with FTR dictating the paced as they don't let the Bucks do their high flying stuff and keep them on the mat with chain wrestling and brawling.  I did like when FTR was tossed from the ring, JR said “There is no treason for you to be fighting over here.” They move fairly quickly to Cash as the babyface in peril.

They stretch it out by having Dax take a super kick right before Cash can get the hot tag. Dax does get the tag tag a bit later and runs wild on the Bucks with meat and potatoes brawling. Dax and Matt have a suplex battle moving to Dax getting a series of two counts. FTR slap on stereo sharpshooters, and Nick is the one who breaks free to break up the holds.

Dax is in the ring for the majority of the match, and they hit the assisted pile driver for a two count which gets the biggest reaction so far. This leads to a series of near falls.  Each team accidentally takes out the other member, and they move into mirroring each other with big moves.

The pace picks up as Dax dodges a BTE trigger and Cash hits a running spear where he goes from the floor, through the ring to the other side onto the runway.  Just a brutal looking spot. We then move to a shatter machine where Matt kicks out.  The Bucks hit a shatter machine, FTR hit the BTE trigger.  Cash takes two BTE Triggers, kicking out fo each one at two. FTR hits another shatter machine and this time hold on for the pin.

Winners and still AEW Tag Team Champions: FTR

This was one of the Bucks best matches ever. It showed that they can “get in their stuff” but if it’s paced properly, and people sell the movies, it draws you right in and makes each move seem important.  FTR is just on top of the game at this moment in time.
