By Mike Johnson on 2023-07-15 19:31:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing Impact Wrestling Slammiversary PPV coverage from Windsor, Ontario, Canada!

They look to have well over 1,300 there.  The company was expecting 1,500 and I'd wager they have close to it, if not that exact number.

Jody Threat & The Death Dollz vs. Gisele Shaw & Savannah Evans & Jai Vidal

This was a solid six person tag with Team Gisele working over the babyfaces early.  Threat gained control with a big pump kick but Evans attacked.  Everyone hit the ring and did big moves.  Rush tagged in and nailed a spear on Vidal after Threat nailed a German suplex on him.  Rush scored the pin.  Enjoyable opener.

Your winners, The Death Dollz & Jody Threat!

They showed Deonna Purrazzo and Trinity, the competitors for the Knockouts Championship, arriving at the venue.

Impact Wrestling Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry vs. Kenny King with Sheldon Jean

Joe Hendry did his usual excellent mic work.  He avoided a lot of kicks before nailing several chops on King's chest.  Hendry held up King for a long period of time for a delayed vertical suplex before snapping it down.  King went to the floor to regroup.    Back in the ring, King nailed a series of shoulderblocks in the ring.  Hendry fired back with an elbow but was taken out by a King dropkick.   Jean distracted the referee, allowing King to choke him with a Chippendale's tie.  King nailed a kick to the head.

King whipped him into the corner and then nailed a T-Bone Tazplex for a two count.  King locked in a guillotine choke, trying to force a submission.  Hendry finally fought his way out and suplexed King over.  Hendry nailed a series of clotheslines.  Hendry caught King going for a high cross bodyblock and hit a Fall Away Slam.  Hendry put on the tie and gyrated his hips like Rick Rude.  King nailed him and went to the top.  He came off the top but was caught and hit with the Standing Ovation chokeslam.  King was going to be pinned but Jean pulled him out from underneath to break up the pinfall.

Hendry charged but was sent to the floor.  Hendry took out Jean by avoiding King, who knocked down his protege.    As they returned to the ring, King used a double leg takedown and pinned Hendry with his feet on the ropes as Jean gave him additional leverage.

Your winner and new Digital Media Champion Kenny King!

Good, solid back and forth match.

They aired a video feature on Nick Aldis vs. Alex Shelley for the Impact title in tonight's main event.

Matt Rehwoldt and Tom Hannifan did a run down of the PPV lineup.

SLAMMIVERSARY 2023

Ultimate X: Jonathan Gresham vs. Mike Bailey vs. Alan Angels vs. Kevin Knight vs. New Japan Pro Wrestling's KUSHIDA vs. Jake Something

Angels is no longer with The Design.

Jake Something was unannounced as the final competitor.

Everyone battled.  Something caught and slammed Angels.  He wiped out everyone but Knight.  Knight used Something as a springboard to reach the wires and held on.  Jake pulled him down into a powerbomb and sent him flying onto everyone on the floor.  Something tried to leap up and grab the X but it was too high.  He tried to cross the wires but Angels prevented him.  He slammed Angels.  Gresham and Bailey doubleteamed Something.  Knight and KUSHIDA then did the same.,  Angels clotheslined over the top to the floor.

Everyone else battled in the ring.   Gresham nailed an Asai Moonsault on several talents.  Bailey hit a moonsault to the floor on Something.   Bailey and Gresham battled atop in one of the corners.  Angels met them and hit a double Spanish Fly.  The polite Canadian crowd chanted, "Holy sh**."   Everyone battled.  Bailey ans KUSHIDA battled in the air on one of the girders.  Knight tried to get involved but was kicked off.  Bailey hit a huge moonsault off the girder onto everyone below.

Bailey tried to cross the wires but Angel used a steel chair to take him down and kept working him over with it.  Angels began crossing the wires but Knight tried to pull him down.,  Angels dropped down onto his shoulders and nailed a Poisonrana.  Angels and Something battled.  Something tried to cross the wires but was punched in the groin.  No babies tonight.  He crashed.

KUSHIDA made his way to the X.  Angels and Bailey followed.  Bailey was low kicked.  Angels was knocked off.  KUSHIDA grabbed the X.

Your winner, KUSHIDA!

Very entertaining opener with lots of fun spots.

Kenny King was interviewed backstage, bragging that he stripped Joe Hendry of the Digital Media Championship.  He said he was cutting edge, knocking the other champions.  Sheldon Jean kept saying DMC, and King liked that.

They aired a video feature on the Knockouts Tag Team title bout.

Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Champions The Coven vs. Masha Slamovich & Killer Kelly.

The Coven attacked but the challengers soon took control.  Masha nailed a hell of a dropkick.  Kelly worked over Taylor Wilde and tagged in Masha, who nailed a series of strikes and a dropkick.  The Coven cut her off and began tagging in and out.  The challengers double-teamed KiLynn King with kicks.  It's been a competitive back and forth bout.  The Coven gained control over Kelly.  The crowd chanted for Kelly.  Everyone battled.  King and Kelly battled over headbutts.  King nailed a big German suplex on Masha.

Masha nailed a big missile dropkick on King,  They hit Wilde with double knee strikes to the head.  King involved.  Wilde nailed Masha with the Witch's Wrath for a two count.  Masha nailed the Snowplow on Wilde as King was choked out on the floor.
