NWA TV Championship: Tyrus (champion) w/Austin Idol vs. Rodney Mack
The 6:05 time limit has been waived tonight as we have a 20 minute time limit. Austin Idol has an announcement. He will not be accompanying Tryus tonight as the Manster wants the reigns cut loose tonight. I believe this is Tyrus' 5th defense of his championship. There is a Lucky 7 rule where a TV champion can cash in 7 title defenses for a shot at the World Title. Galli reminds us (and I forgot) that Tyrus has opted out of the Lucky 7 series, being content to be TV Champion. I do now recall that interview back around Oct 2021.
Not gonna lie, I would not, under any circumstance, want to meet either of these guys in a dark alley. Tyrus is getting frustrated as Mack keeps kicking out at 1. Tyrus goes to the top and Mack takes him down with a superplex. The ring survived. Mack tries for the pin but Tyrus makes the ropes. One Heart Punch later and Tyrus scores the pin.
WINNER AND STILL NWA TV CHAMPION: TYRUS
David Crockett and Pope have replaced Velvet Sly and Tim Storm for the following match.
CROCKETT CUP FINALS: Mark & Jay Briscoe (2) vs. Harry Smith & Doug Williams (4)
I like how the Finals has a real out of the box flavor, as the Briscoes are not signed to the NWA and Harry Smith is making his debut this weekend. I can't call a winner here but my heart is with Dem Boys.
Before this match begins I want to express my best get well wishes to NWA official Pat Kenney, who suffered a stroke. He's a big part of the NWA backstage. I'm a big fan of this company and want to acknowledge him. The Commonwealth Connection are coming into this one pretty banged up. A win here by the Briscoes really gives them the momentum heading into Supercard of Honor and the dream match with FTR. Banged up or not, Williams is putting on a submission clinic here but it's the Briscoes with expert double teaming regaining the edge.
Remember what I said in the last match about not wanting to meet Mack and Tryus in a dark alley. I would not want to meet any of these 4 in a well lit day care center. Someone again please explain how no promoter ever saw Smith and made him THE guy. WHAT a look, WHAT a star. WWE had two bites at the apple and didn't see what I see? Please!
The Commonwealth Connection now taking apart the ROH World Tag Team Champions, Anderson-Style. They've cut the ring off, they've kept Jay in their corner. This is a tag team classic we're seeing right here. Mark finally gets the hot tag and takes over the match, the man is an EXPERT in Redneck Kung Fu. Now it's Williams in there with a Tiger Driver but the Briscoes quickly take over. This might be their chance but Smith lays them out with a double clothesline. Froggy Bow out of nowhere and Williams barely kicks out. Big pump kick by Smith, Williams gets a close 2. Briscoes finally put the Commonwealth Connection away with a Jay Driller followed by a Froggy Bow. GREAT Final match.

NWA World Heavyweight Championship: Matt Cardona (Champion) vs. Nick Aldis
Special referee is former NWA, WCW and Intercontinental Champion Jeff Jarrett. Velvet Sky and Tim Storm have resumed their positions at the commentary table. For the record, I was the guy many years back that said Zack Ryder was just hype and nothing else. This is me now writing about his main event defending the NWA World Title. Luckily Humble Pie tastes OK. I just do NOT trust Jarrett here and Trevor Murdoch is always lurking, especially after what he said in his interview. Cardona with an attack before the bell. Interesting to note here that Cardona is out here alone at the outset. Aldis quickly fires back. Cardona takes a walk and flips off Tim Storm at the desk. Storm is furious. This may loom large later. Cardona walks off with the belt and Jarrett refuses to count him out. Tim Storm "assists" Cardona back into the ring. Cardona walks off again and, this time, Aldis chases him up the aisle. Jarrett remains true to his word and gives them a lot of leeway while they're brawling out there.
Cardona resorts to pushing Jarrett, who I still don't trust, on the outside. The champ with a double underhook DDT on the floor. Back in the ring, Jarrett refuses to let the champion use his wrist tape to choke Aldis. Cardona has slowed the pace exponentially and does the Fargo Strut in from of Jarrett. This fires up the challenger, who nails a clothesline and a Michinoku Driver for 2. Aldis with a figure 4. I can see David Crockett watching pretty excitedly from the stage. Cardona swings and misses with the belt and Aldis with a top rope elbow for 2. Now it's Aldis grabbing the belt. Jarrett pulls it away and Cardona hits a low blow, reboot and Radio Silence for 2. I thought that was it. Aldis vaults him form the ring and out comes VSK and Knox. This brings out the Commonwealth Connection to fight them off. Chelsea Green with a low blow to Jarrett. Mickie James with the save. Aldis immediately applies the Kingsman Cloverleaf and Cardona taps out.
HOWEVER, Jeff Jarrett, seeing Mickie James in the ring, believes it was James who low blowed him and he calls for the bell.
WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION AND STILL NWA WORLD CHAMPION: MATT CARDONA
