Team Impact Wrestling's Chris Sabin & Steve Maclin & Rhino & Rich Swann & Willie Mack (substituting for the attacked Eddie Edwards) vs. Honor No More's Matt Taven & PCO & Vincent & Mike Bennett & Kenny King with Maria Kanellis - If Honor No More are victorious, they remain in Impact Wrestling.
Is the Eddie Edwards attack a red herring? A heel turn tease where we learn Eddie has aligned with his fellow former ROH stars and actually attacked Jonathan Gresham? I guess we are about to find out!
Everyone brawled before the bell and battled all over ringside. They finally settled down and the bell rang. Maclin and Bennett battled back and forth in the ring. Bennett nailed him with a big right and went for a DVDR but Maclin escaped and nailed a back elbow. Taven and Sabin tagged in. They battled back and forth. Vincent and Swann then did the same. This was a lot of fun since there were so many fresh face-offs here.
PCO tagged in and took out Swann with a Dragon Screw Legwhip. Rhino tagged in. They battled back and forth, laying it in on each other. That was fun. Rhino nailed a clothesline and took him down. Willie Mack tagged in. He and King battled back and forth. Mack and Swann double teamed King in the corner. Team Impact started tagging in and out, keeping King on defense.
Honor No More cut off Sabin and began working him over, tagging in and out. Sabin tried to fight off The OGK and finally did, then fought to try and tag out. He made the hot tag to Swann, who started cleaning house. Taven accidentally drilled Vincent. Swann kept taking out members of Honor No More with kicks and sent Bennett and Taven into each other. Vincent was able to hit a big dive to the floor on Swann, crushing his momentum. Kenny King drilled Swann with a series of rights. He scored several right hands. Bennett tagged in and nailed a suplex for a two count. Team Impact went to break up pinfalls because Swann had been beaten so much.
Vincent tagged in and continued the beating. Now, PCO followed and Avalanched him in the corner. Swann kept kicking out. PCO locked on a nerve hold. He charged Swann with a tackle but Swann ducked and PCO crashed and burned through the ropes to the floor but rose back to his feet and returned to the ring. Bennett and Mack tagged in with Mack cleaning house on him and Taven at the same time. Swann drilled Bennett but Taven made the save. Mack went to the top but was superkicked, crotching himself on the top rope. The OGK hit the Proton Pack for a two count on Mack as Sabin made the save.
Vincent and Maclin battled. PCO blind tagged in and chokeslammed Mackin, then hit a legdrop off the ropes. King tagged in and nailed the Chinchecker. He caught Rhino with a kick to the head, setting him up for Rhino to wipe him out. King went to throw Maclin out of the ring and wiped out the referee, who had their back to them, knocking him out through the ropes too. As ref bumps go, it was pretty damn great. There was a series of dives to the outside.
Bennett speared Mack on the apron. PCO went to the top and hit a swanton on Mack and Swann, who were set up on the apron outside. Vincent then followed up with Redrum. Everyone battled on the floor. PCO hit a moonsault to the outside on everyone, taking out friend and foe alike.
Rhino tossed Bennett into the ring and called for Gore but Maria Kanellis stepped between them. The OGK surrounded Rhino but Eddie Edwards hit the ring and chased them off. He grabbed Maria for Rhino to Gore her but instead turned into Hollywood Hogan, caning Rhino and then everyone else from Team Impact. He tossed the referee back into the ring as King covered the unconscious Rhino and scored the pin.
Your winners, Honor No More!
Honor No More gets to remain in Impact Wrestling.
So, yep, there was a reason why Eddie Edwards never actually made contact with anyone in Honor No More over the last 4-6 weeks. He was with Honor No More. The announcers played up that Edwards was once the heart and soul of the company but that was done.
This was a really good main event and another strong outing from the company. It was not at the level of excellence that Hard To Kill was, but that show hit some really insane rarified air. This was, however, a very strong, entertaining show with a lot of hard working talents and a good angle to power us into the next chapter of the ROH alumni vs. Impact.
