AEW Women's Champion Hikaru Shida vs. Women's Eliminator Tournament victor Ryo Mizunami.
Mizunami was in control early and showed her disrespect every step of the way. Shida came back with a knee strike on the apron. She set up a chair on the floor to use as a foundation for a running knee strike but Mizunami caught her and tossed the champ over the guard rail atop a bunch of fans.
Mizunami nailed a Famouser back in the ring, then a series of legdrops for a near fall. Shida attempted a hip toss but Mizunami blocked it. Shida nailed another knee and went to the top. She nailed a missile dropkick for a two count. Mizunami clotheslined Shida over the top to the entrance stage. Shida blocked a move and ran Mizunami into the buckles.
Shida pulled her up to the corner to go for a move, then pulled Mizunami onto her shoulders. She finally nailed an Air Raid Crash variation on the stage. Back in the ring, they nailed each other with headbutts. Mizunami wiped out Shida with a lariat for a two count. Shida came back with a knee strike and they were both out, exhausted on the mat.
They fought to their feet, exchanging blows. Mizunami liked the pain and kept drilling the champ with elbow strikes. Mizunami nailed a big Uranage/suplex variation followed by a spear. She nailed a flying legdrop off the ropes for a close two count but Shida got her shoulder off the mat. Shida fought to her feet and used a forward roll to escape a Mizunami move but was too spent to capitalize.
Mizunami charged with a lariat but Shida nailed a series of moves, culminating with a straitjacket German suplex. Unfortunately for the champ, Mizunami popped up and wiped out Shida. Shida blocked a Falcon Arrow. Shida nailed a shining wizard to the back of the head and nailed a Falcon Arrow for a two count.
They battled back and forth and traded near falls. Shida nailed a suplex into a gourdbuster style slam. Shida nailed another knee strike for a two count and finally scored the pin with a corkscrew knee strike.

Nyla Rose, with Vickie Guerrero, hit the ring and attacked Mizunami. Shida defended her but was attacked by Britt Baker, Rebel and Maki Itoh. Itoh bit Ryo's fingers. Thunder Rosa hit the ring for the save and ran off the horde.
They announced the 2021 Double or Nothing PPV will be held on 5/30/21.
Backstage, Alex Marvez tried to interview Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor when Miro and Kip Sabian attacked them and beat them down. Miro told the camera to play his music and he dragged Taylor to the ring. Taylor was bleeding fron the forehead. Miro took the mic and asked Taylor how many times did he ask him to get out of this match or to be part of Miro. He kept asking Taylor if he wanted to make this stop. Taylor asked him to wait. Miro held the mic to his face and Taylor said to ring the damn bell, refusing to back down.
There was no sign of Cassidy as they rang the bell.
Miro & Kip Sabian with Penelope Ford vs. Orange Cassidy & Chuck Taylor.
Sabian and Miro beat down Taylor. Taylor nailed a knee strike on Sabian as Cassidy finally staggered out. He nailed the Orange Punch on Miro in the aisle and tagged in. Sabian was sent to the floor. Cassidy nailed a tope suicida. Cassidy hit a diving DDT for a two count. Sabian cut him off and nailed sit-down slam but Cassidy kicked out. Cassidy nailed a spike DDT coming out of an attempted maneuver. Taylor and Cassidy double-teamed Sabian. Sabian was hit with a stuff piledriver but Miro drilled him in the face with a big right hand to break up the pinfall attempt.
Penelope Ford argued with the referee as Cassidy nailed the lackadaisical kicks. Miro laughed at him and blocked the Orange Punch, but was nailed with another. Penelope got on the apron to distract him. Miro shoved Cassidy into Ford, knocking her off the apron. Miro wiped out Cassidy and then nailed a running clothesline. He called for Kip to help him as Kip was checking on his wife. Miro told him to tag him so he was legal but Taylor small packaged him for a two count. Miro locked in the Accolade and Taylor tapped.

The story was that even though he's the Best Man, Miro sacrificed Penelope in order to win.
Backstage, Alex Marvez interviewed The Inner Circler. Jericho said they know they lost and they are having a War Council this Wednesday on Dynamite because some time you need to change strategy in the middle of the battle. It's time for a change for the Inner Circle. MJF agreed and said that a change could make the Inner Circle better.
Matt Hardy vs. Adam Page - Big Money Match.
The story early on was that Page was evading and out-wrestling Hardy early on, turning a sleeper attempt into a back suplex. Page looked really good early. He went for the Buckshot Lariat early but Hardy went to the floor.
Page followed him and dropped him across a guard rail. He leapt off a handrail with a double axe handle. He tossed Hardy back into the ringside area. Hardy tried to keep away from Page. Page followed him back to the floor but was sent into the ring post, hurting his arm. Hardy wrapped his fingers around the buckles and snapped and bit at the fingers. Hardy used the steel ring steps to continue to attack the hand.
Hardy brought him back into the ring and kept attacking the hand with the idea that he was hurting the effectiveness of the Buckshot Lariat. From a storyline standpoint, it made sense. Page tried to fire back after being tossed into the corner but Matt wiped him out with a big right hand. Hardy sent him hard into the buckles and Page bounced rudely down to the mat.
Hardy went for the Side Effect but Page turned it into a crucifix for a two count. He followed up with a Death Valley Driver for another two count. They battled near the ropes, where Hardy was sent to the outside on the apron and was hit with a leaping forearm. Page missed a pescado to the floor and was hit with a Twist of Fate on the floor. Page was almost counted out but rolls in at nine.
Hardy continued to work over Page, tying him up in the ropes and beating him. Hardy whipped him into the corner but was kicked as he accelerated towards Page. Page went to the top but Hardy nailed him. Hardy went for a back suplex but Page tried to hold on. His hurt hand couldn’t hold and he was finally snapped backwards and smashed down to the mat for another near-three count.
Hardy continued to attack. Page fired back and they nailed stereo clotheslines in the center of the ring. Page finally nailed a discus lariat. Page nailed Hardy and they crashed over the top to the floor. Page went to the top and nailed a big moonsault to the floor. Page's arm hit the guard rail hard as he connected. Back in the ring, Page nailed a running clothesline in the corner and followed up with a sliding lariat. Hardy went for a move off the ropes but Page prevented it. They battled. Hardy slipped under and nailed a sit-down Razor's Edge for a two count.
They continued to battled. Page nailed Deadeye but Private Party ran out and distracted the referee and Page. This gave Matt time to recover but he ate another clothesline. Page kicked Private Party off the apron and then hit dives. He went for the Buck Shot Lariat but Hardy cut him off with a Side Effect and a Twist of Fate. Page kicked up at the last second. Dark Order ran out and attacked Private Party. Page was knocked off the apron but Dark Order caught him and tossed him back up onto the apron. Page nailed the Buckshot Lariat and scored the pin.
Your winner, Hangman Page!
This was a damn well worked match and may have been Hardy's best bell to bell appearances in AEW thus far. Page looked good and the storyline elements at the end added to the match instead of distracting from it.
Dark Order all hugged Page after.
Cody Rhodes vs. Scorpio Sky vs. Penta vs. Lance Archer with Jake Roberts vs. Max Caster vs. final competitor to be named - Ladder Match for TNT title match.
The sixth and final competitor was the debuting former Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champion Ethan Page. That's a damn good addition to the roster.
Rhodes had his shoulder taped up.
They have to grab a brass ring in order to earn a TNT Title bout.
Everyone battled. Lance grabbed a ladder and tossed it into the ring, drilling Sky and Cody. Archer went to set it up but Penta superkicked it into him, then hit a Sling Blade into it. Penta went to set it up but Sky took him out. Max and Sky battled in the ring Jack Evans ran out with the boom box to nail Caster but 10 attacked him and laid him out. Cody and Page raced up the ladder but Archer took them down. They double teamed Archer but Page nailed Cody in the bad shoulder with the ladder. Caster nailed Page and Sky with the boom box.
With everyone down and out on the floor, Penta ran up the ladder and hit a flip dive to the floor. Archer went to grab the ladder but Page hit ring and nailed a cutter on the ladder. Page beat Archer with the ladder but Sky grabbed him and attempted a TKO on the ladder. Page avoided it and nailed a side slam. He grabbed Sky and nailed a Splash Mountain onto the ladder with Archer sandwiched inside.
Penta tried to nail a package piledriver on Cody off the apron onto a ladder bridged across the ring apron to the guard rail. Cody blocked but was then hit with a Destroyer on the ladder. The medical staff checked on Cody. They teased Cody could not continue. Caster made it to the top of the ladder but Sky took him out. Caster set up a second ladder and they battled back and forth. Cody was taken to the back.
Page and Archer joined the ladders and everyone battled across the top of the ladders. Archer was knocked down to the apron. Sky grabbed the brass ring but was nailed. Page and Caster were knocked off. Sky almost grabbed it but Penta returned to the scene and took him out. He nailed a thrust kick to wipe out Sky. Penta began climbing but stopped to play to the fans, allowing Sky a chance to recover. Sky slammed him off the ladder to the mat but wiped himself out as well.
Page tried to weasel his way to the top but Caster met him there and they battled atop onto of the ladders. Caster nailed a sunset flip bomb off the ladder. Cody was still being checked out in one of the tunnel entrances.
Sky placed a ladder on the mat and slammed Caster atop the ladder. Sky went to the top and nailed a frog splash on the ladder on Caster. Sky set up the ladder but before he could ascend, Archer returned. Sky fought him off and almost made it to the top but was stopped. Sky was sent over the top through a bridged ladder that snapped. Penta controlled the ring, wiping out Archer and Page.
Penta climbed the ladder but Page stopped him near the top and they battled back and forth. Page fought him off as Cody fought his way back to the ring and began fighting with one arm. He nailed Page with a CrossRhodes. He stomped away at him and climbed the ladder but was met by Archer, who nailed a series of right hands. Archer nailed a suplex off the top of the ladder. Caster nailed a flying elbow off the ladder on Rhodes.
Caster climbed to the top, where he and Penta battled. They fired back and forth with right hands. Archer returned to the ring and cleaned house on everyone with tons of chokeslams. He nailed The Blackout on a Ladder on Caster. Archer went to go to the top but Page got involved. Jake Roberts hit the ring with a short arm clothesline. Penta began climbing the ladder but Cody nailed, sort of, a Cody Cutter off the ropes. Cody began climbing the ladder but Penta nailed the bad arm with a steel chair. Penta climbed but now it was Scorpio Sky attacking his ankle with a chair.
Sky climbed up. Cody met him at the top. They battled back and forth. Sky yanked his bad arm and slammed it across the top of the ladder. He trash talked Cody and knocked him to the mat below, then removed the brass ring.
