Which member of The Hurt Business will take on someone from Retribution? MVP says it will be Lashley. They choose Slapjack. After what happened on Monday, it should be a squash. MVP says Lashley will make it a US Title match. Whoever wants to fight him from Retribution, come on out to the ring. Seriously, as bad as Retribution looked on Monday there is no way anyone from that group should even come close to beating Lashley.
Slapnutz took the challenge from Retribution. The champ is pounding the snot out of him. That should keep up. Retribution is already shot.
Slapbutz is coming back and getting some stuff in. He hit a big running DDT and got a one count. That was two too many.
Snapnuts went to the top but Bobby grabbed him and started throwing him around. He missed a clothesline but not a choke slam. Slapdick got up and Bobby hit the Full Nelson for the win. The rest of Retribution attacked Lashley. He made his own save before the rest of the HB even came out. Mustafa ran. This group is so done. At least they can go back to NXT and not be soiled. I feel bad for all of them, I really do.
Time for our main event, Drew McIntyre defends his WWE Title against Randy Orton. I have a couple of thoughts. One, I love that Randy and Drew get the main event. They deserve it. Also, I LOVE that we will be done in three hours.
Drew was out first but Randy followed dressed like a crew member. They started fighting on the outside so the match is not officially on yet, even though it’s pretty much on. Once they get into the cage, it’s really on. OK, they are in, it’s on. Drew is serious as a heart attack.
It’s all Drew early as he is on the attack Randy used a chair to Drew’s get back into the match and go to work. Orton is working over the champ. He is working methodically, aka smartly. Drew is taking a beating now.
Drew came back and was telling Randy bad he would hurt him on the floor but Orton used a bit shot as they went back in the ring. Randy grabbed bolt cutters and cut the lock off of the door. He went to leave but Drew chased and attacked. Randy caught him and threw him into the cage. Why did Randy go out since he needs to be in the ring to win? To climb up the cage. You know Drew will follow, even though Randy is already on top and he shouldn’t. The red is saying it has to end in the ring. Will we see an Undertaker-Mick Foley trap door?
Well Randy let Drew come up without attacking him. Why? He has a pipe. But Drew ducked and is throwing down punches. Well until he used the pipe to hit the leg. And then he climbed down. The plan was to get Drew up and hurt him. Now they are side by side coming down the cage. Orton is ramming Drew’s head and yep, down he went, through the announce table. Wrestlers are way more man than I will ever be, and I mean all genders of wrestler.
Drew has blood coming out of his mouth. It looks like a capsule, and that is what we should be doing in 2020. Drew is selling the fall like it killed him, which I hope it didn’t. He is crawling toward the door to get back in the cage. He is game. Orton is just following and enjoying it.
But Drew is not dead yet. He hit a Claymore but Randy bailed to the floor so the Champ had to drag him back in. He set up for the kick and waited for Randy to get up but Orton moved and then hit the RKO for the win. I loved the match.
Did I want to see Drew lose? No. Did they book him strongly so that I want to see him win his belt back? Yes. Has Orion's work been so good of late that he deserves another run? Also yes. So at the end of the day I want to see them fight again and that is the whole idea. I want to see where it goes next.
