Ronda Rousey is defending her Raw Women’s Title against Nia Jax.
Ronda is on smack dab in the middle of the show. Interesting.
Ronda used her speed early, but Nia was able to squash her to the mat and then take control.
Ronda came back with some freaky athletic moves. She is a real deal athlete. And she also got thrown into the barricade by Nia. Ouch.
Ronda came back and did a splash from the top rope to the floor. I have to say, Ronda is all in on her foray into wrestling. She gives it all she has.
Ronda got a two after a jumping power attack. Yeah, I made that name up. Nia came back with a Samoan Drop for a two. The crowd is invested. They are working hard.
Nia took her up to the second rope for a Samoan Drop but Ronda reversed it to do a power bomb, two count only! Ronda went for the arm but Tamina came in, which allowed Nia to attack her. Nia set up the right hand but Ronda blocked it and took her down in the arm bar. She told Tamina this is for you, kissed Nia’s hand and then snapped on the arm bar. Nia tapped.
Ronda is a freak of nature. She is like Kurt Angle. She kicks major butt in the ring, a total natural. She’s fun to watch.
As Nia went through the back, she ran into Charly. She was asked to comment on the match. She didn’t want to. Then she ran into the man, who punched her in the face and said keep my name out of your mouth.
AJ Styles vs. Daniel is next.
The fans are booing Bryan, so the heel turn is working, at least a bit.
Bryan is working heel early, bailing to the floor after the bell. He worked heel and lured AJ to do a splash on the floor, and nailed him with a kick. Then he went to work on the challenger. It was mostly Bryan for a good part of the match. Styles finally hit a big clothesline out of the corner and evened things up. He went for the Clash but Bryan rolled to the floor.
AJ got him back in and Bryan begged off, but AJ didn’t buy it and got a near fall but Bryan fired back with a sick suplex for a two. He then threw NO kicks into AJ’s chest and face. Two count only.
AJ went to work as Bryan hung on and hit a kick to the face. He threw hands on AJ’s injured midsection.
AJ went for the Clash, but Bryan got out. He did lock on an ankle lock. Bryan tried to get to the rope but AJ pulled him to the middle of the ring. Bryan managed to roll through and go for the LaBell Lock. He got it. AJ rolled out and they traded near falls and kicks to the head. Good stuff.
The fans must of heard me, they are chanting that this is awesome. It is, it’s two pros kicking butt.
AJ went up and hit a Springboard 450 for a two. He then locked on the Calf Crusher. Bryan fought to not tap and rolled to the ropes to get the break. This is outstanding.
They went to the floor where AJ hit the Forearm off of the barricade. He threw Bryan into the ring. AJ came off the top but Bryan moved. AJ got an inside cradle but Bryan reversed it and got the pin.
This was awesome, tremendous match. They need to do it again. And again.
In the back, Ronda was with Natty. They were happy that they won. Charly asked Ronda about Charlotte Flair. Payback is a bitch and I am the baddest one on the planet Ronda said. Uh Oh.
Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins is next.
Dean is out first. It’s so weird to hear Renee talk about her husband as if it’s not her husband. And then Corey asked her about it and she not sold it. OK, whatever. It’s not her fault, but it’s still odd.
I also don’t need to hear that Roman Reigns is watching this and torn up about it. Renee is getting a little testy at Graves too. Cole just said enough. Oy.
Now she is complaining Seth won’t talk to her as a journalist.
