The WWE Title match is up next.
After a recap of the Dean Ambrose-Dolph Ziggler feud, we were shown Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon in the ring. First out is Ziggler. Nice pop. Then Ambrose, really big pop.
Dolph, wearing an American Flag on his tights, started really strongly. Dean weathered the storm and dumped Ziggler to the floor, and then took control. Dean got a two with a double arm suplex from the top rope. Then he went to work on Ziggler. As he came off of the top rope, Zig got up and nailed him with a drop kick. He went for a Superkick but missed and got face planted for a two.
Ambrose is cocky and trash talking. He mocked the Superkick and the crowd kind of booed him. Ziggler hit a Tornado DDT for a two. Dean tried to take control but missed a charge into the post. Ziggler hit the Famouser and got a two. No real reaction. The crowd doesn't believe he can win.
Dean came off the top with an elbow for a two. The crowd is kind of quiet for the reason mentioned above. Zig locked on the Sleeper, no reaction. Dean dumped him to the floor.
Zig hit a Superkick on the floor, putting Dean on the barricade. Zig rolled Dean in to beat the count and only got a two.
Dean went for Dirty Deeds but Dolph blocked it for the Zig Zag. Two count. They are working really hard. If the fans believed, it would be so much better. Zig locked on a choke but Den got out. Dean hit a clothesline to put Dolph down. He went up top but Dolph stopped him. He went for the Superplex. Dean sat. He knocked Dolph down but he came right back up. He went for the Facebuster but Dean blocked it and hit Dirty Deeds for the pin.
The match was definitely good, the problem was the crowd didn't accept that Dolph could win and their reactions showed that. Smackdown couldn't just create a number one contender in a month, so I am fine with them doing what they tried with Dolph. But it's clear that they need to create a foil for Ambrose.
Time for the six woman match. Who will replace Eva Marie? Nikki Bella? Naomi was out first. Then Carmella. Then Becky Lynch.
Natty came out first for the heels, followed by Alexa Bliss. Then they played Eva Marie's intro. The announcer said that Eva is suffering from stress brought on by the fans, so she is on vacation. Yep, their partner is Nikki Bella. There was a loud female pop. Is she a heel? I guess we will see.
Given that Naomi and Carmella aren't really over, Nikki got a huge face pop when she tagged in. They are doing well but the crowd is still kind of in the post AJ-Cena lull. The heels worked Carmella over and kept her from making the hot tag. As a side note, Naomi's outfit looks like the bus from the old Partridge Family show. Carmella hot tagged Becky but there wasn't much reaction. Becky was in control for a while but then the heels took over. Naomi came in with a cool kick routine that popped the crowd. She tagged in Carmella, who hit a Bronco Buster on Nikki. Everyone came in and Nikki blasted Carmella. She hit the Rack Attack and got the win. It was all about the Nikki Bella return.
Finn Balor vs. Seth Ambrose for the new WWE Universal Title is next. That means Roman Reigns vs. Rusev is the buffer match before Orton-Lesnar.
The Universal Title is in the ring. Wow, it ain't pretty. Steph and Mick brought it out.

OK, it is downright fugly.
This better be off the hook needing the US Title match as a come down. Otherwise, this should be one of the last two matches.
