RAW REPORT
by Ed Shirreffs

RAW follows an edition that saw the brand get ready for Unforgiven in a big way.  Edge accepted Cena's challenge for the WWE Championship,M where if Cena can't win, he goes to Smackdown.  The match will be TLC, of course.  The McMahons and Big Show will face DX in Hell in a Cell, as well.  Also, Trish leaving WWE was addressed.

As RAW begins, Edge is setting up the tables, ladders, and chairs.  Edge climbs the ladder to cut a promo.  He is starting the "John Cena gets out of my life forever" countdown.  Plug for Smackdown on the CW.  CW means Cena 'can't win', what with Unforgiven in his hometown.  Edge says he always wins this match.  TLC involves skill, ability, smarts, etc.  Edge shows a trailer for the TLC match.  Oddly enough, there is a clip from the TLC match he lost.  He tells Cena to get ready to fight men in dresses, and prepare for Michael Cole's man-crush on him.  Cena sneaks in and Edge tries to jump off the ladder on him, but Cena is able to FU him through a table before tipping the ladder on him.  Commercial.

Jeff Hardy is painting a wall.  Maria asks him what he is doing.  Jeff says watching Nitro and Melina's press conference from last week.  Maria says it looks like he is watching paint dry.  Jeff: "Exactly."  Ouch!

Jeff Hardy vs. Johnny Nitro for the Intercontinental Championship

JR takes a shot at the press conference as well.  Nitro dropkicks Hardy to start and gets a couple fast pins.  Hardy rolls Nitro up a couple times.  Nitro kicks the ropes in frustration.  Hardy hits his reverse mule kick to knock Nitro from the ring.  Commercial.  The Burger King commercial where the King takes the place of TO in the driveway is hilarious.

Back from break, Nitro has Hardy in a chinlock.  Hardy is able to fight out of it, but Nitro pulls the hair down for a backbreaker and two count.  He pounds away on Hardy.  Nitro throws some forearms in the lower back and gives Hardy a back suplex.  Hardy fights out of another submission, but Nitro punches the back some more.  Nitro misses a leg drop attempt.  Jawbreaker by Hardy, but Nitro is able to drop him on the ropes for two.   Nitro focuses on the lower back.  Nitro hits a backbreaker into a side Russian legsweep.  Nitro locks in a sitting bear hug.  Nitro places Hardy on the top rope.  Hardy reverses the suplex attempt and gets an electric chair.   When both men get up, Hardy hits some forearms and a back body drop, Russian leg sweep, then a two count.  Nitro gets a cross body from the
middle rope, but Hardy rolls through for two.  Hardy misses a dropkick and Nitro gets a standing shooting star press for 2.  Hardy hits Whisper in the Wind for two.  He goes up for the Swanton, but Nitro knocks him off the top.   Twist of Fate by Hardy, but Melina attacks the ref to stop the count.  Post match, Hardy hits a facebuster and Swanton to Nitro's back.

Your winner by disqualification, Jeff Hardy!

This week in Wrestling History, WCW Monday Nitro debuted.  It says WCW premiered opposite RAW, but anyone who reads This Day in History on the site knows US Open Tennis was on that night.

Trish bumps into Lita in the back.  Trish wants one more shot at the Women's Championship.  Lita accepts.  The girls brawl in the back.  Randy Orton and Carlito end up brawling as well.  Shill for The Marine.  Lita is trying to get into Mr. McMahon's office, but Coach wants to keep her out.  Shane answers the door.  He sets a match between Lita, Orton, and Edge vs. Carlito, Trish Stratus, and John Cena.

The leaner Masterpiece is in the ring.  Maria is shown watching the paint and yawning as he starts his promo.  Masters issues an open challenge and Super Crazy answers it.  He is signed to RAW.

Your winner, Super Crazy!  Maria is smelling the rolling brush.

The McMahons come out for their promo.  They invite the Big Show out.  Shane talks about laying DX out for their antics.  He says the lesson is to never mess with the McMahons.  Big Show calls Shane sir.  Show says they paid the price for their unfunny jokes.  Show promises to dominate them tomorrow night.  Vince grabs the mic.  He is mad at the fans for laughing at DX's vandalism.  Now the McMahons are laughing.  Last week's pummeling was nothing compared to what will happen at Hell in a Cell, thanks to their partner the Big Show.  DX's music hits and they come out.  Shawn has a chair and HHH has a sledgehammer.  Triple H has two words for Vince after the McMahons made DX taste their own blood:  Thank you.  Thank you for reminding them who they were.  The two come to the ring and lay out 'security'.  Chair shots for all the local indy wrestlers.  Commercial.

The Highlanders vs. Cade & Murdoch vs. Charlie Haas & Viscera for a title
shot at Unforgiven

The Spirit Squad also comes out.  Cade/Murdoch and Rory start out in the ring.  Cade & Murdoch do a double team move on Rory, but Haas breaks up the pin.  Murdoch beats on Haas with some punches.  Haas hits a modified t bone suplex.  Murdoch comes in and pushes Haas down and chops Rory.  Viscera comes in and hits a Bossman Slam on a charging Murdoch.  Scoop slam on Rory McAllister.  Haas with a drop toe hold followed by a Vis splash.  Cade breaks up the pin attempt.  Haas and Viscera get Cade/Murdoch in the same
corner and Haas irish whips Viscera into them.  The Highlanders get the win after Rory does a sunset flip over the top rope for the three count.

Your winners and #1 Contender's for the Tag Team Titles, the Highlanders!

Carlito and Trish are in the locker room.  Carlito is sick of Orton and wonders what the heck Orton is doing when he raises his arms.  Carlito calls him a fraud who disrespects people.  Carlito is the king of disrespecting people.  He plans on respectfully spitting in Orton's face.

Back from the break, Maria is doing that old Unlimited staple, the Kiss Cam.  Flair interrupts.  Flair says it is good to be back in Atlanta.  He wants a kiss from Maria.  She obliges and Flair flops.  Armando Alejandro Estrada comes out.  AAE wants Ric to declare Umaga 'The Man' since Umaga has beaten him, to pass the torch so to speak.  Ric refuses.  Umaga comes out, but Kane immediately follows.  Flair steps out of the ring.  Kane hits a bunch of right hands and kicks Umaga out of the ring.  Commercial.

Cryme Tyme are training for RAW by robbing a convenience store.  Wow.  Teddy
Long acknowledges the crowd.
