The story of the match early on was that ADR was in control, with Kalisto getting in occasional hope spots, like a tope suicida. … ADR was in complete control when Kalisto was on the top and ADR tried to take off his mask. It seemed the tide would turn, but it didn’t as Kalisto went for a spinning kick and got swatted away. But then ADR missed an enzigiri and Kalisto hit a spinning DDT and hit some lucha moves, even getting a near fall. … Kalisto went up to the top but ADR caught him and did a face/body plant off of the top. Kalisto rolled to the floor. … Kalisto came back in and fought ADR on the turnbuckle. ADR pushed him down and went for the stomp, but missed. Kalisto hit Solina Del Sol but ADR grabbed the rope. ADR tossed Kalisto to the floor so he could regroup. Kalisto did a springboard into the ring but was met but double knees. ADR got a two count and got frustrated. He exposed the top turnbuckle. But ADR ended up hitting it. Kalisto hit his finisher and got the pin. The match was good, if you can appreciate Lucha. If not, you would probably think a lot of Kalisto’s offense isn’t believable.
The big question is whether this win will elevate Kalisto, or if it will make ADR (who is in the top heel group) look weak. Time will tell.
After the showed Mark Henry and Jack Swagger winning the wrestle-in match, Steph was show in the back. Then in came Paul Heyman. Paul said Brock would win the Rumble, in his own wonderful way. Steph asked why he was here. Paul said that he is willing to renegotiate Brock’s contract after he wins tonight. Steph said that as long as Brock takes his rage on Roman, she would be glad to renegotiate. Paul said if that is how you feel, the Roman Empire is going down. This may be a hard crowd for Roman.
They showed a clip for Edge and Christian's show. It looks so dopey I think I will love it.
Eva Marie is featured in the promo for WWE Fast Lane next month. She obviously has a big supporter in the company.
Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch for The Divas Title is up next.
The women are given a good spot on the show. Eden announced both ladies. Becky got cheered, Charlotte booed. When Becky was in control early, they were totally behind her. She was in control until Charlotte bailed to the floor. Becky chased and Ric Flair forced a kiss on her. Yes, you read that right. Becky was trying to sterilize her body when Charlotte attacked from behind and took control. Honestly, forcing a kiss on a woman is sexual assault. If they can’t do other things because they market to kids, they shouldn’t do that either. … Charlotte was then in control for the next few minutes. The story was that Beck kept trying to fight back and finally did, evening it up to where things were back and forth. Becky got a two after a suplex. She got another two off of another exploder. Charlotte got out of the Disarmer and got a two with a spear. … Becky came off of the top with the Disarmer but Charlotte powered out and then dumped her on her back, getting a two. … Flair got bumped and Becky put on the Disarmer. Ric came up and threw her jacket at Becky, allowing Charlotte to grab a cheap pin. I wish this was an NXT style match but it wasn’t. It was fine, but it could have been great. It wasn’t great. After the match, Charlotte attacked Becky and laid her out. Their feud is obviously not over. Then Ric came in and put his daughter over. And then…..
Sasha’s music hit and out she came, to a big pop. Sasha mockingly clapped for Charlotte and then took her jewelry off and came in the ring. She faced off with Charlotte, and then kicked Becky. She told her it was “my spotlight”. She then went back to Charlotte and pointed to her Title. The fans chanted for Sasha. Charlotte asked what she wanted? Sasha pointed at the Title and put out her hand and Charlotte slapped it, in a friendly way. Ric left the ring as if all was well. It wasn’t. Sasha attacked from behind, hitting the Bank Statement. She then got up and paraded around with the Title before dropping it and leaving. She mocked Charlotte on her way out.
OK, if this is the start of them treating the women on the main roster the way that they treat them in NXT, I am totally on board with what they did because Becky obviously has unfinished business with Charlotte.
