WWE NEWS ON A NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH NBC, HULK HOGAN, ANOTHER BAD RATING, WOMEN'S TITLE VACANT, POOR FAN BEHAVIOR AND MORE
Smackdown did a 1.0 broadcast rating, with a 1.8 share last week. Again, the show was only seen in about half of the country.
Hulk Hogan will be the "grand marshal" of Sunday's Dover 400 NASCAR Nextel Cup race in Dover, DE. Daughter Brooke will sing the national anthem before the race.
The WWE website has a story up saying that the Women's Title was declared vacant at Raw last night. Maybe they did, but I don't remember hearing that. I just assumed it was since Trish retired.
Joe Treanor sent this item. ... Former WWE star Ken Shamrock was on the '700 Club' last night. I was doing some channel surfing and stumbled across it. During the interview, Shamrock was talking about how he came to be and where he is today. He spoke of temptations on and off the road and his rough up bringing with drugs, group homes and alcohol. I guess Shamrock is a born-again Christian and is denouncing a lot of his 'old ways'.
Jeff G. sent this item, in response to a story on the site yesterday. ... I read the article from Pink Hair and Peanut. I first wondered about this after watching the Cena and Edge match a second time I noticed a read headed woman being kicked out of the arena. Upon reading her letter, I felt compelled to watch it again, knowing that I had heard her use profane language multiple times towards Cena. It was at this time that I noticed that you can CLEARLY see a blonde haired woman, presumably Peanut, spit at John Cena. It disgusts me to see so-called fans of the WWE treating superstars so poorly. It is a shame that she is trying to make the WWE look bad when she is the one at fault.
James Harrison added this. ... I was just reading the reply from the fan who was ejected from the building at Unforgiven and I just had to reply.... You can clearly hear her say the 'F' word (my surround sound picks up everything) so her wanting an apology from WWE or anyone else is plain ridiculous!
I didn't save a copy of the PPV but I can tell you that there is no place at a WWE show for people screaming out F Bombs, let alone spitting on wrestlers. If you do that, the company has every right to kick you out, and frankly they should.
Multichannel News is reporting today NBC Universal On Demand and WWE are forming a sales partnership to try and get more customers for their respective on-demand products. ... Thanks to Mike K for his help with this item.
Kenton Lane here sent this item. ... Last night during RAW they advertised a main-event of Booker T/Finlay vs. Lashley/Batista for the Oct. 3rd Smackdown/ECW taping here in Wichita.

WWE officially announced that the ECW brand will take part in the Survivor Series PPV in November. The PPV will take place in ECW's original birthplace of Philadelphia, PA.
For those of you interested in seeing Bret Hart on stage as the genie in a theatrical version of Aladdin, you can now visit the website of the production company putting the Canadian tour together for details at www.RossPetty.com. The tour will run from 11/7-12/31, hitting Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa, Saskaton, Regina, and of course, Calgary.
Marco sent the following....WWE is coming back to Portugal for the second time since 1994. They had scheduled a Smackdown show for the 5th December but the 11,000 seat arena sold out in just 2 and a half days, three months before the show. WWE announced today that they have scheduled another show for 12/4, a Monday at the some location, Pavilhao Atlantico in Lisbon. Those shows are a part of the European tour that also includes Spain and Switzerland. WWE interest is really growing in Portugal, especially among teenagers.
WWE NEWS AND NOTES ON NO MERCY, MERCHANDISE, WATCH MARIA AND CANDICE MAKING OUT AND MORE
by Brian Richey
Local advertising here in Raleigh is already promoting that Rey Mysterio will face Chavo Guerrero at No Mercy.
Several videos have been added to WWE.com in the aftermath of Unforgiven and RAW. The Highlanders and Snitsky both have Get Well videos for Mr. McMahon. Also up are videos of DX giving Vince a special message after RAW, and Maria and Candice making out on the WWE Kiss Cam.
WWEShop.com has several new items including: DX dog tags and wall clings, the No Mercy poster featuring King Booker and Queen Sharmell atop a dragon, and a new Batista shirt that says "Even Good Guys Do Bad Things."
It seems that they are trying to liquidate the Wrestlemania merchandise early this year as several great deal packages have been added to WWEShop. Most of the packages include two items and a dogtag for around $20. For example, you can get both the WM22 Football and Baseball jerseys, with a dogtag, for only $19.98. These are actually very good deals considering that package would have amounted to almost $70 back in April.
Speaking of Wrestlemania, a special autographed plaque that includes an actual piece of the ring ropes from Wrestlemania 22 is on sale. The plaque is $99 and is signed by almost all of the winners at the event. Strangely enough, the sample photo of the plaque makes it appear that the Undertaker and Rob Van Dam did not sign the plaques but the Boogeyman did.
WWEShop also has several pre-order packages out for the Summerslam 2006 DVD, The Main Event: WWE in the Raging 80's book, and the Hulk Hogan Ultimate Anthology DVD. Interesting to note that the cover of the 80's book has the old 80's WWF logo rather that the new WWE old-school logo.
Proving further that they have no qualms about cashing in on former talent, WWEAuction has a number of items signed by Kurt Angle and Trish Stratus. They are also pushing a number of clothing items signed by Johnny Nitro and Melina, which were doused in paint by Jeff Hardy.
