The Men's Royal Rumble Match.
Richard is doing his usual excellent job with the play-by-play so I will go more with thoughts on this match.
Drawing number 1 is Rey Mysterio. Drawing the other number 1, that they like to call Number 2, is PENTA. Now that is a cool way to start. Let those two give us some fun until number 3 comes in!
Looked like Penta let his legs touch but they no-sold it.
Chad Gable at 3 makes sense. He can go and he has issues with Luchadors.
I like Carmelo Hayes at 4. We need guys that can go a while early on and we got them.
Santos Escobar at 5 kept it going. He is so good and he fits in with the early story. They are throwing bombs early. Serious bombs. And they all hate Gable. Here comes Otis at 6. Chad has no friends.
I think I felt that shot Otis hit Chad with all the way in Las Vegas.
The dogs are barking at 7 as out comes Bron Breakker. This is where the match may start going into the next phase. Oh yeah, it is. Bron is a stud. He won't headline WrestleMania this year but unless things go sideways, it's in his future.
Tozawa got attacked by Melo. Does that mean he is still in? Will his spot be given to someone else? Triple H said we need a replacement. It's Speed. He gets the Pat Mac spot from last year. No, he got better. He got eliminated. Then he realized why Pat bailed last year as Bron killed him. If his goal was to take some stiff abuse, mission accomplished!
Yep, we are moving into the throw some hands part as Sheamus is in.
The fans are invested in the countdown.
OK, we have had Jimmy Uso, Andrade and now Jacob Fatu. It's time for the heavy hands! I wonder if they will let him and Bron touch. Probably not.
Jacob eliminated so many people that they almost did but Big Jim stopped it.
Ludwig Kaiser totally gets it. He ran to the ring and then stopped and said why rush. That's what a heel is. And so was him being eliminated right away by Penta.
Joe Hendry is here! Does that mean he will be a WWE signee next year?
Roman is in at 16. He got pyro. He has the Ula Fala and Paul Heyman. 16 is early but he cleaned house. And now he is facing off with Bron, who speared him hard! Damn! Bron got cocky and went for the elimination but Roman reversed it and out goes Bron.
It was Penta (who is down), Big Jim, Roman and Jacob for a second, but Jacob tossed Jim. Now it's down to two and they are facing off. Roman has the upper hand when Drew McIntyre hit the ring. We are at 17 and now it's heating up and Mania programs will be set up.
Still a lot of studs left to go.
Finn Balor dusted Penta but he lasted over 40 minutes.
I love that Jet Uso didn’t do the entrance. He had to get in there for Roman.
Loved the return for AJ. The booking leading up to this has made the storyline element so, so good! They are setting up so much for wrestlemania, and that’s exactly why I said we didn’t need surprise returns from old people.
Braun Strowman and Jacob Fatu is not over. That makes me happy.
It also made me happy to see John Cena come out. He did what he was asked to do by Vince and now he can have real fun.
And now Punk! This keeps getting Cole said. He nailed it. This is so much fun. My updates are late because I am just taking this all in.
The look on Cena’s face when Punk came into the ring was pure joy.
Logan Paul came out last. He got booed big time. And some of it was due to his wrestling character. Just saying.
Everyone is in. Time to set up mania matches.
They just set up Drew vs. Priest.
Paul may be a tool but he is really athletic. He jumped to the announce table so he is still in but will need a way back in. He found it.
Paul dusted Styles. That could be another match.
Down to 6. It’s heating up.
This is so good. If you are watching you know that. If you aren’t you should be.
Punk dusts both Roman and Seth. Then Seth stomped Roman after Paul eliminated Punk. Lots of ways to go here. Well not anymore. Seth just stomped Roman on the steps. Paul Heyman is pissed. Pink stopped Seth but is not happy.
Back in the ring it’s Cena, Paul and Jey. I hope they set up Paul and Cena now give Main Event Jey the main event.
Cena knocked out Paul. Come on, give us those two at Mania and Jey with Gunther.
I used to hate how over the top Cena is but now I pop for it. Us old guys gotta stick together. I loved the finish. John stayed strong and put over main event Jey in every way.
The visual of the whole building Using at the end was awesome.
