Time for legends in the crowd! We see the Godfather, then Mickie James, finally Kurt Angle at ringside with his daughter, who is a wrestler and has on his Olympic Gold Medal.
Marcus Freeman, head coach of Notre Dame football, is at the show, as is Stephen Amell.
DIY defends the Tag Titles vs. The Motor City Machine Guns, best of 3 falls.
This should be soooooo good. These guys are veteran studs.
The champs got the first fall when Johnny faked Shelley out, thinking he tagged Ciampa. Shelley was working on Johnny when Ciampa took him out, as he was legal, to take the first fall. Great stuff so far.
Fall two has the champs doing every underhanded move in the book. Champs are dominating so you know a mistake is coming and Johnny just made it. Sabin is finally able to make the tag and clean house.
Shelley hit Skull and Bones on Johnny and tied the match. There was less of a pop than I expected. We are in sudden death.
Ciampa hit the FTE and Project Ciampa on Sabin after Johnny did a tope on Shelley on the floor, but Sabin kicked out. It's those two now as their partners are selling the floor. Ciampa was on the top when Sanin pushed him into the post. The partners returned and the Guns are rolling now. They hid a double blockbuster on Ciampa but Johnny got in to break the count. Wow.
Ciampa is busted up on his nose.
Johnny hit superkick on Ciampa by accident. The Guns had it won when the Street Profits came out and attacked the Guns allowing DIY to hit Meet In The Middle and retain the Title.
After the match, The Profits destroyed the champs. The Profits held up the belts afterward. They took out the Guns because they want to beat the champs and take their belts to pay them back for the attack they did. It makes sense but the Guns won't like it.
Excellent match, as you would expect from studs like these four.
They showed Chelsea Green giving tickets to a family of four. Some people will say it broke kayfabe. I am not one of those people.
Ron Simmons is here. So is Rick Steiner. And Rob Van Dam, who the whole crowd said his name in unison. Belal Muhammad is there. He did a GTS. John Mellencamp is as well. He looked a bit subdued but the crowd was psyched to see him. He is an Indiana legend.
Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens in a ladder match for the Titles.
KO is out first. The crowd does not like him. Cody is out next. The crowd loves him, of course. He got pyro.
It's a war early on, as it should be. KO just slammed Cody through the metal hinges that hold the ladder and now he is using the metal on him. I predict we will see blood sooner rather than later.
Cody came back and they are brawling around the building. Cody just threw a beer in KO's face. But KO took control again and they are brawling around the building.
KO made the first attempt to climb the ladder but was stopped and then he threw KO into the ladder. Ouch.
Cole said that this is the third highest gate in company history, trailing only last year's Manias.
They took turns using the little Hornswoggle ladder. Cody tried to get the belts and KO went to work on his knees and then slammed him on the little ladder.
Cody made it up and grabbed the Titles but KO pulled him off the ladder so when he got back to it, he had to let go. As he was coming down the ladder KO wasted him with a powerbomb.
Cole just said KO has dominated most of the match and he has.
Cody just retrune the favor to KO on a ladder. Cody got a rung of a ladder and worked on KO until he ate a kick.
Then KO threw Dusty punches at Cody, the heel! He hit Cody with the ladder leg. Cody could climb the ladder but he is working over Cody with the metal instead.
KO set up a ladder along the bottom ropes. He set up for the piledriver but Cody backdropped him on a ladder and there is no way in hell that didn't hurt like a mofo. KO is way more man than I am. This has been STIFF.
Speaking of stiff, Cody was climbing the ladder when KO got him and put him through the ladder that was on the ropes.
KO did a Fisherman's Buster from the top onto a propped ladder. Pat said he might be dead and damn, he might be. That was STIFF. Nick Aldis is at ringside to check on Cody. Sami Zayn just showed up and he said something to Owens. He got on the apron.
KO is up finally. Cody isn't but KO is continuing. KO went for the Stunner but Cody hit Crossroads. He went to the ladder but KO stopped him. Cody fired up and went nuts on KO, who is bleeding. Cody has snapped, he's yelling is this what you wanted. They are on the announce table. Cody is jawing at KO, who hit him with a low blow. KO went for a powerbomb but Cody did a SICK Alabama Slam on him through a table. He landed BADLY, like his head straight down badly.
Cody went to the top of the ladder and got the belts. KO is still not moving and I can see why. Sami is with KO.
The match was brutal and stiff, as it should have been, but I am not going to lie, it was hard to watch at times. They took some serious abuse and I tip my hat to them for their toughness. They delivered a great match but there were times when I was thinking that they were taking too much abuse on their bodies. That's why they are pro wrestlers and I am not. I don't need to see people do that much damage to themselves and I said the same thing 30 years ago with ECW.
Tyrese Haliburton is here, as is O'Shea Jackson. Kai Cenat, who has a 76ers hat on. He's OK with me.
They threw it to Tess and Big E for some cool down time. It was needed after that war.
