Sexy Red celebrated with Kelani Jordan. It was crazy how much little charisma Red showed on camera given she's a big rap star. Kelani's acting was way stronger.
The announcers noted the next WWE NXT PPV will be Money in the Bank weekend in Toronto for Heatwave. I'm guessing Sabu isn't wrestling Shane Douglas on that show! But, you never know, The Dudley Boyz could show up and cause a riot...eh, probably not.
UFC Fighter Merab Dvalishvili and UFC HOFer Forrest Griffin were ringside.
The WWE North American Championship Triple Threat is next. I'm thrilled to see Wes Lee back as that dude can wrestle his ass off and there's something truly likable about him as a person. This was a fast paced bout with everyone doing big spots and Oba Femi being the powerhouse monster that he is. There was an INSANE spot when Femi, on the top, pressed and tossed Lee above his head then rocketed him at Coffey while leaping off the ropes. MADNESS.
Coffey took control and placed Femi on his shoulders but Lee came off the ropes with a double stomp. Lots of imaginative combinations in this one. They made Femi look like The Incredible Hulk here, no selling Coffey shoulderblocking him on the floor, taking Coffey out and then catching and wiping Lee out in mid-air, powerbombing him at Coffey.
Gallus attacked Oba and laid him out on the floor. Coffey worked over Lee but Lee kicked up at the last second, showing lot of heart. Femi returned to life quicker than you could write Palpatine Somehow Returned and killed Gallus. Lee went nuts with offense on Coffey, looking great. He went for the cover but Gallus pulled the referee out. Lee hit a big dive to the floor, taking them out. Oba took out Coffey, then Lee, and then pinned Coffey with a big powerbomb. HULK SMASH.
Good stuff.
They aired footage from WWE 24 from the first-ever Takeover: Brooklyn while Peacock was running commercials.
