MOOSE VS. NEMETH, WHO RETURNED WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT, AMAZING LAST MAN STANDING BOUT, TNA TAG TITLES, SANTANA RETURNS & MORE: COMPLETE TNA REBELLION 2024 PPV COVERAGE

By Mike Johnson on 2024-04-20 19:00:00

They showed former NFL star Shawn Merriman at ringside.

Rich Swann with AJ Francis vs. Joe Hendry.

Hendry had a parody video of Swann annd Francis as his tron entrance.    He cut a promo saying they were obsessed with him all along because they are such big fans.  He said they've come down with Hendrymania.  He got the fans to chant "we believe" for him.

Hendry looked good early but Swann showed a good mean streak.  He drilled Hendry with a superkick for a two count and then cinched in a surfboard.  Hendry made a comeback.  Francis interfered, which brought Merriman into the ring to make the save.  He argued with Francis but then turned on Hendry and clotheslined the hell out of him.  The referee never saw it as they were dealing with Francis.  Swann nailed a 450 splash off the top and scored the pin.

Your winner, Rich Swann!

Merriman embraced Francis after.

The action was solid.  This was more furthering the storyline than anything else as they are setting up obstacles in Hendry's way.

Frankie Kazarian vs. Eric Young - Full Metal Mayhem.

Kazarian walked under a ladder on his way to the ring.  They began battling before the bell.  Young went for a piledriver early but Kazarian escaped to the floor.  Young nailed a sliding kick and beat on Kazarian on the floor.  He slammed a ladder down on Kazarian on the floor.  He then elevated and dropped it down on Kazarian.  Ouch!

Young bridged the ladder from the ring to the barricade but Kazarian caught him and dropped Young across it.  Kazarian set up a table he pulled out from under the ring.  He attempted Fade to Black off the apron through the table but Young escaped and went for a piledriver.  Young was backdropped into the ring.  He nailed Kazarian with a series of rights but Kazarian held on.  Young bit the hand hanging onto the ropes, trying to make his crash backwards but Kazarian nailed him and hit a guillotine legdrop through the ropes.  Kazarian grabbed a big ladder on the stage, charged and launched it at Young in the ring.  He went for a legdrop but missed, crashing into the ladder.

Young sent Kazarian back first into the ladder, which was propped against the buckles.  Young pulled some weapons from under the ring and began nailing Kazarian with some plunder.  He pulled Janice, Abyss' old  barbed wire spiked 2x4 into the ring.  Kazarian backed off once he saw it.  Young swung it but it became embedded into the buckle.  Kazarian and Young each tried to drive each other into it.  The battle continued until Kazarian speared Young off the apron through the table on the floor.  Vegas popped for that and chanted TNA.

They battled back into the ring, where they slugged it out.  They then beat each other with cookie sheets.  Young nailed a DVDR for a two count.  Kazarian came back as the battled on the top, wrapping a chain around Young's mouth and body, using it to assist the crossface chicken wing.  Young came back to wrap it around Kazarian's throat and pulled him off the top.  Kazarian had a trash can placed over his head and body.  Young attacked it with the chair and then ascended to the top.  He nailed a flying elbow off the top onto Kazarian and the can for a two count.

Kazarian came back to nail Young with a trash can and hit a Tomakaze on the ladder.  Young got his shoulder up at the last minute.  Kazarian placed a table in.  The fans chanted for fire.  Kazarian nailed the Flux Capacitor off the top through the table, crashing through the corner of it.  Kazarian scored the pin.

Your winner, Kazarian!

This was rough as they were laying it in there pretty harshly at times.  Young and Kazarian can always be counted on having kickass performances and this was no exception.

Gia Miller interviewed Nic Nemeth.  He said tonight was what he's been waiting for.  His father and family are in the crowd.  The locker room, TNA and the world are ready for something new and is walking out TNA Champion.

As the announcers were talking up the Tag Team title bout, Steve Maclin came out.  He had promised to make himself known tonight.  He said that he wanted a match right now and wasn't leaving until his demands were met.

Santino Marella came out to a big pop.  He said he had an opponent for him right now.  Out came Mike Santana, who we noted earlier today in the Elite section was returning this weekend.  The crowd chanted for Santana and then chanted "Welcome back."

Mike Santana vs. Steve Maclin

Maclin shoved him, so Santana slapped him.  Santana nailed some clotheslines and sent him over the top to the floor.  Santana nailed a flip dive over the top to the floor.  The crowd chanted for him.  Maclin cut off Santana, sending him sternum-first into the buckles and nailing a clothesline.  Maclin drilled him against the ropes for a two count.    Santana is sent into the corner and hung upside down in the tree of woe.  Maclin went for the crosshairs but Santana avoided it.

Back in the ring, Santana gained the advantage and cleaned house until Maclin drilled him with a forearm.  Santana came back with a DVDR for a two count.  Maclin nailed a knee strike and a flying headbutt for a two count.    Maclin was caught with a running boot to the face and a big cannonball for a two count.  They continued to battle back and forth.   Maclin nailed the Crosshairs for another close two count.  Santana finally scored the pin.

Your winner, Mike Santana!

The fans were super happy to see Santana, who wrestled like he had something to prove.  Maclin's work is always really damn good and gritty and they had some nice chemistry.  I'd love to see some rematches.

Gia Miller interviewed The System.  Moose introduced John Abraham, who was there to support him.

TNA Tag Team Champions Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers with Alisha Edwards vs. Speedball Mountain, Mike Bailey & Trent Seven.

Bailey and Myers started.  Myers dragged him to corner by his hair.  Edwards and Seven got involved.  Bailey used his explosive offense.  He and Seven doubleteamed Edwards.  Edwards and Seven battled to the floor where Seven's knee was dropped across the ring steps.  This allowed The System to gain control as they tagged in and out working over Seven's knee.  Bailey tagged in and uploaded with karate kicks and a running shooting star press on Myers.  Bailey's offensive stuff always looks great.  He nailed Edwards and ran Bailey into the buckles.  He was shoved off by Myers but Seven returned and drilled Seven, who nailed a superplex.  Bailey came off the top with a shooting star press for a close two count.

Edwards and Seven chopped each other.  Edwards attacked the knee, then hit a Tiger Driver.  He cinched in a Boston Crab.  Bailey tried to make the save but Myers trapped him in a crossface.  Bailey broke free and began kicking away at Edwards.  Edwards kept holding the hold but Bailey exploded with kicks, wiping out Eddie, then soared into a moonsault to the floor on Myers.  They continued the battle.  Bailey nailed Ultima Weapon on Edwards but Myers barely made the save to break it up.  The crowd chanted the match was awesome.  Bailey went to come off the apron with a move but Myers speared him in mid-air to the floor.  Seven and Edwards batted inside the ring until The Boston Knee Party and The Roster Cut spelled the end for Seven.

Your winners and still TNA Tag Team Champions The System!

Another damn good match.
