STING RETIRES AND MORE: COMPLETE AEW REVOLUTION 2024 COVERAGE

AEW World Championship: Samoa Joe vs. Hangman Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland w/Prince Nana

3 way staredown.  Joe with elbows to both. Swerve with a kick, he misses a dive to Joe. Tope by Joe to Swerve. Joe with a kick to Page followed by a chop. Joe with punches. Swerve grabs the tope and Joe falls to the floor. Swerve with a kick to Page and he stomps him in the corner.  Back elbows by Page but a rana by Swerve. Middle rope forearm by Swerve. Swerve with a diving forearm to Joe.

Swerve punches Page. Belly to Belly by Page for 2. Joe kicks Page and jabs him in the corner. Running knee by Joe to Page. STF by Joe. Swerve with the save. Swerve and Joe exchange. Swerve gets head butted to the floor. Joe gets taken out.  Page and Swerve slug it out. Elbow by Page. Swerve wants more . Rollup by Swerve for 2. Joe to the floor. Swerve connects with a knee to Joe. 

Tombstone by Page for 2.  Uranage by Joe to Page. Swerve blocks a deadeye and hits a powerbomb for 2.  Joe with jabs to both. Joe chops Swerve out of the ring. Joe with a muscle buster on Page but Swerve nails him with the Swerve stomp.  House call for 2 by Swerve. Joe and Swerve slug it out. Joe tries a choke but Swerve blocks it. DDT by Swerve to Joe. 450 by Swerve to Joe. Swerve Stomp to Joe for 2, Page pulled the ref out. Page nails Swerve with the title belt, followed by another. 

Buckshot Lariat to Joe by Page, followed by a 2nd. No referee to make the count until a 2nd ref makes a 2 count. Joe with a choke to Page. Corkscrew by Swerve breaks it up.  Swerve refuses a weapon. Rollup by Swerve. Page beats up the referee.  That’s 2 refs he’s eliminated. Page with a lariat. Joe with a lariat to Page

Swerve with a buckshot to Page. Joe gets rid of Swerve and chokes out Page. Page taps.

AEW World Tag Team Title Match: Sting & Darby Allen vs. Nicholas & Matthew Jackson

Ric Flair comes out, followed by Ricky Steamboat. Magnum TA and Nikita Koloff are in front row.  Excellent video package prior to Sting’s entrance.  His sons come out as the Ghost of Sting Past.  Darby with a dive on the Bucks.  Darby and Sting with Stringer Spalshes.  Stings kids get in on the act as well.

Double Scorpion Deathlock by Sting but the EVPs escape it. Sting sends Matthew into the rail, followed by Nicholas. Tables and chairs get introduced. You know what? I’ve watched Sting for 35 years.  I’m gonna lay back and enjoy this. I apologize for the lack of coverage here.

There’s plexiglass here.  Action spills out into the crowd. Now they’re on the ramp. Nicholas doctor bombs Allin off the stage through a table. Matthew suplexes Sting off the stage through a 2nd table.

Allin gets powerbombed on a ladder.  Allin fights back and nails Matthew with a destroyer.  The ladder in the ring is huge!  Allin is a 1 man wrecking crew now,  He misses a senton and goes through plate glass.  His back is bloody as hell. It’s uncomfortable to watch to be honest. 

Sting makes it back to the ring. He fights off the jacksons. Sting gets out of the way of a Matthew Stinger Splash. Sting lays Matthew on a table. He tries to climb the ladder but gets sent through the table. Sting immediately fires up.

The EVPs send him through glass for a 2 count. Steamboat and Flair get involved. Flair protects Sting. The EVPs superkick Flair and Steamboat. Belt shot for 2 by the EVPs for 2. Double superkick by the Bucks. Sting fires up. EVP Trigger for 2 by the EVPs for 2.  EVP Trigger for 1. Sting kicked out!!! Darby saves Sting from an EVP driver. Death Drop for 2 by Sting. Darby with a coffin drop and sting applies the Scorpion Death Lock. Matthew taps.

WINNERS AND STILL AEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: DARBY ALLIN & STING

Sting gets a huge send off from Greensboro. Well deserved. Sting addresses the crowd and thanks Flair and the fans. The fans thank him right back! Darby is emotional. I don't blame him.
