WWE RAW REPORT: A CHAMPION RETURNS . . . AND SO DOES THE ONE YOU WERE EXPECTING, SETH DEFENDS HIS TITLE, RHEA DEFENDS HER TITLE, NIA VERSUS BECKY, AND MORE

The former WWE Champion returning is . . . Jinder Mahal.

Jinder tells the crowd they have the audacity to be disappointed at his return.  He says he is a once and future WWE Champion.  Thousands have competed in this ring and fifty were WWE Champions.  The only thing disappointing is what has become of the once great nation of the United States.  This does not look united.  You people have never been more divided.  Ignorance and misinformation.  Jinder says this country was a super power and now it is a joke.  Jinder says he is a unifier.  He tells everyone to shut up and listen.

Jinder speaks in Punjabi.  He says finally, all of you are united.  You booed your own national anthem in Punjabi.  He says that is a new low.  You boo him because he looks different and speaks different.  Unlike the Iron Sheik and others who have exposed the US, he speaks with intelligence and class.  Jinder says he speaks the truth.  Jinder says he will speak in Punjabi about what the world thinks about him.

The Rock interrupts and makes his way to the ring.

Rock says that Jinder is in trouble tonight.  First, he wants to say that Jinder is right about one thing.  You are not the Iron Sheik because he knows and loved the Iron Sheik.  Rock plays the role of Iron Sheik if he was here tonight to insult Jinder.

Jinder says Rock magically appears when the WWE Universe is being insulted.  He says Rock is the champion to you jingoistic people.  Jinder says he would be ashamed of himself and disgusted if he represented these people.  

Rock says he is not ashamed.  He says he is damn proud to be the People's champion.  Rock says he is proud to be an American.  Rock says FINALLY, he has come back to San Diego.  Rock says the people are not booing Jinder because of how he looks or talks or that he speaks Punjabi.

Rock looks up for guidance from Sheik and he says he Jinder is the biggest asshole walking God's green Earth.  Rock says that angry face is what we are familiar with.  We are used to resting bitch face.  This is raging asshole face.   He asks Jinder why is he angry all the time.  It has to be because no one likes you and you aren't funny.  If you were one of Rock's movies, you would be Baywatch. 

Jinder says he didn't watch Baywatch and Rock says not to interrupt him and no one watched it.  Rock asks again and Rock throws out the IT DOESN'T MATTER.  Rock says this country isn't a joke to him, the people in the building, or everyone watching at home.

Rock says it isn't a joke that you can run this country down without consequences.  You can't come out in the people's ring with the People's champion in the building and get away with no consequences.  You might be the Modern Day Maharaja.  Now you are the Day One Douchebag.  You say you are the unifier, but Rock will show everyone what a unifier does.  He says one side will say Day One.  The other side will say douchebag.

It slows down and Rock says that was fun.  He says if Jinder loves the National Anthem so much, he will sing a verse for you Jinder.  

Jinder punches and kicks Rock.  Jinder takes off his jacket and Rock with punches and he gives Jinder a spinebuster.  Rock with a people's elbow and he whips Jinder with his belt.

Rock says he loves San Diego and wishes everyone a Happy New Year.

Rock says he is going to go get something to eat and he asks if he should sit in a booth, at the bar, or the head of the table.

Drew McIntyre is in the back.

We go to commercial.

We are back with a look at what just happened with The Rock.

Match Number Five:  Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark versus Natalya and Tegan Nox

Natalya with an arm drag to Zoey and Zoey misses a splash.  Natalya with a slingshot atomic drop and Tegan tags in.  She sends Zoey into the turnbuckles and Natalya tags in.  Shayna tags in and Zoey trips Natalya.  Shayna with a kick for a near fall.  Shayna stomps on the elbow.  Shayna with a knee and Zoey tags in.  Zoey with a twisting senton for a near fall.  Zoey with a reverse chin lock.  Nattie with a snap mare but Zoey sends Nattie back into the turnbuckles.  Shayna tags in and punches Nattie.  Shayna with a snap mare and kick to teh back for a near fall.  Shayna with a hammer lock and she pulls Nattie to the mat when Nattie tries to make the tag.  Nattie with an arm drag but Shayna runs Nattie into the turnbuckles and tags in Zoey.

Zoey with kicks and Shayna tags in for more kicks.  Zoey tags in and kicks Nattie.  Shayna tags in for more kicks.  Nattie with a forearm to Zoey and kicks to Shayna.  Nattie tries to go through Shayna's legs to make the tag but Shayna stops her.  Nattie kicks Shayna away and tags in Tegan.  Tegan with a clothesline and punches.  Tegan with clotheslines to Shayna followed by a running European uppercut to Zoey.  Tegan with a head butt and gourdbuster.

Candice and Indi watch in LOCKER ROOM on MONITOR.

Tegan with a running back senton in the corner.  Tegan gets a near fall.  Shayna avoids the Shiniest Wizard and Shayna misses a kick.  Shayna with a knee and Nattie breaks up the cover.  Zoey kicks Nattie to the floor.  Zoey tags in and Shayna with a German Suplex followed by Z360 for the three count.

Winners:  Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark

We are back and next week, Shinsuke Nakamura faces Cody Rhodes.  Kayden Carter and Katana Chance defend the tag titles against Chelsea Green and Piper Niven.  CM Punk appears next week.

Match Number Six:  Drew McIntyre versus Seth Rollins for the World Championship

Seth with a running boot and punches.  The referee pulls Seth out of the corner.  Drew with a kick and chop followed by punches.  Seth with a kick to the chest and he sends Drew over the top rope to the floor.  Seth with a forearm off the ring steps.  Drew with a forearm and he sends Seth into the announce table and he hot shots Seth on the table.  Drew goes for a reverse Alabama Slam onto the steps but Seth holds on to the ropes and skins the cat.  Seth with a kick through the ropes.  Drew catches Seth on a suicide dive and Drew with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex on the floor.  Drew sends Seth into the ring steps.  Drew with punches to Seth.  Drew with a chop in the corner.  

Drew with a back elbow and he gets a near fall.  Drew with a boot to the head.  Drew ties up Seth in the ropes and he connects with forearms across the chest to mock Sheamus.  The referee checks on Seth in the corner.  Drew presses Seth's face against the ring post.  Seth with punches and he gets on the ropes but Drew drops Seth on the top rope and he gets a near fall.  Drew with a chop.  Seth chops back and Drew establishes the exchange.  Drew with a Dragon chop to send Seth to the mat.  Drew with punches.  Seth with punches to Drew but Drew hits a tilt-a-whirl back breaker for a near fall.  Drew gets Seth on his shoulders and he climbs the turnbuckles.

Seth counters a Super Air Raid Crash and Seth sets for a sunset flip into a buckle bomb.  Seth with a suplex and he sends Drew shoulder first into the ring post when Drew charges into the corner.  Seth with a flip dive onto Drew.  Seth sends Drew into the ring and he sets for a suplex but Drew blocks it.  Drew goes for a suplex but Seth gets to his feet after a knee.  Seth with a tornado DDT and he goes up top.  Seth with a frog splash for a near fall.   Seth sets for a quebrada but Drew moves and Seth lands on his feet.  Drew is sent to the apron.  Drew with a punch.  Drew goes up top and Seth stops him and hits a superplex but when he goes for the Falcon Arrow, Drew counters with a suplex of his own for a near fall.

Drew with a punch and Seth hangs in the ropes.   Drew gets Seth on his shoulders but Seth gets to his feet and he hits a super kick.  Drew with a reverse Alabama Slam for a near fall.  Drew with an Irish whip and clothesline.  Drew puts Seth on the turnbuckles.  Drew sets for a superplex and Seth blocks it.  Seth with punches to the leg and hip.  Seth with forearms to the back and then he rakes the back.  Drew with a forearm to Seth on the turnbuckles.  Drew with punches and Seth with a punch.  Drew with a super Air Raid Crash for a near fall.  Drew with a chop and Seth chops back.  They exchange more chops and Seth with an enzuigiri and thrust kick to the knee.  Seth with a super kick.

Seth misses Black Out and Drew hits Future Shock.  Drew looks around to prepare for a Claymore.  Drew runs into a sit out power bomb for a near fall.  Seth pulls Drew into position and he goes up top for a Phoenix Splash but Drew moves and Seth lands on his feet and rolls through.  Drew misses a Claymore.  Seth with a super kick and Pedigree for a near fall.  

Damian Priest's music plays and he comes to the ring with Dominik Mysterio and a referee.

Priest hits Seth with the briefcase while new ref is distracted by second ref.  Drew with a Claymore to Priest and an overhead belly-to-belly suplex to Dom. 

Drew with a Claymore and Seth's foot is on the rope.  Drew sends Seth into the ropes and he removes the hood on the announce table.  Drew puts Seth on the announce table.  Drew sets for a tombstone but Seth wtih a kick and Pedigree onto the announce table.  Seth sends Drew back into the ring and Seth with Black Out for the three count.

Winner:  Seth Rollins (retains Championship)
