WWE SMACKDOWN REPORT: A SURPRISE APPEARANCE FROM EDGE, THE BLOODLINE IN TURMOIL?, US TITLE MATCH, AND MORE

We take a look back at the Women's Title match from SummerSlam.

Match Number One:  Charlotte Flair versus Asuka

They lock up and Charlotte with a wrist lock.  Asuka with a kick as she flips in the ropes to reverse the wrist lock.  Charlotte escapes and Asuka with a back heel kick.  Asuka bounces off Charlotte.  Asuka and Flair exchange forearms.  Flair with a shoulder tackle.  Flair goes for a handstand head scissors take down but Asuka with a drop kick.  Asuka with more kicks to Charlotte.  Flair blocks a kick and she gives Asuka a leg sweep.  Flair with a kick to the head.  Asuka with an Irish whip and Charlotte with a Flair Flip and kick to Asuka.  Flair goes up top and Asuka stops her and Asuka with a press slam.  Asuka with a missile drop kick and a sliding kick to the head for a near fall.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Flair with a pescado.  Flair sends Asuka back into the ring and she goes up top and hits a cross body.  Flair with chops followed by a fallaway slam.  Flair with a handspring clothesline for a near fall.  Flair with a waist lock and Asuka with an elbow.  Charlotte with a spear and she sets for a figure four but . . . 

Iyo Sky's music plays and she comes out with Bayley and Dakota Kai.

Asuka with a rollup for a near fall.  Flair with a running boot to the head.  Both women are down while Iyo, Bayley, and Dakota surround the ring.

Charlotte with a back elbow and Asuka with forearms while Bayley gets on the apron.  Bayley distracts Charlotte and Asuka with kicks while Iyo hits a springboard double drop kick.

No Contest

After the match, Bayley and Iyo attack Asuka and Charlotte.  Asuka is sent into the ring post.  

We take a look back at TRIBAL COMBAT from SummerSlam.

We go to commercial.

We are back with a look at Austin Theory and Santos Escobar and the United States Title Match tonight.

Kayla Braxton is with Santos Escobar.

She asks him what his mindset is tonight.

He says there is only one word to describe how he is feeling.  He is confident.  He has Austin's number.

Austin Theory attacks Santos from behind and gives him a back drop driver onto a storage case.

Theory is held back by officials but he is able to slam the top of a storage case onto Escobar's leg.

We take a look at Karrion Kross.  He says that some people lack a plan.  He is here to destroy the plan.  It is time to take it to another level.  A prophet is nothing without his disciples.  Soon, you will see.

We are back and next week will be a Twenty Five Years of Edge Celebration in Toronto.

We go to the medical room and Santos is being checked out and he has ice on his leg.

Match Number Two:  AJ Styles (with Mia Yim) versus Karrion Kross (with Scarlett)

AJ with a drop kick as the bell rings and he goes for a Mutoh Lock and applies it.  Kross with a back body drop.  Kross with a clothesline and elbow into the corner followed by a rolling elbow.  Kross with an exploder.  AJ with forearms and Kross with forearms of his own.  Kross sends AJ into the turnbuckles and follows with an Irish whip that sends AJ face first into the ring post.  Kross with a kick and he sends AJ into the turnbuckles.  Kross puts AJ on the turnbuckles and Kross chops AJ.  Kross goes for a superplex and AJ goes under and drops Kross on the turnbuckles.  AJ with a clothesline that sends Kross over the top rope to the floor.  AJ goes to the apron and tries for a sliding knee but Kross catches AJ and hits a Death Valley Driver onto the announce table.

We go to commercial.

We are back and AJ with a clothesline and a sliding forearm.  AJ with a forearm into the corner and he gets Kross up but Kross gets to his feet.  AJ is sent to the apron and he connects with a forearm.  AJ sets for the Phenomenal Forearm but Kross catches AJ and applies the Cross Jacket.  AJ goes to the ropes and tries to float over but Kross watched his Bret Hart tapes and rolled through to hold on to the Kross Jacket.  AJ runs Kross into the turnbuckles.  AJ with a moonsault and then he hits a reverse DDT for a near fall.  AJ with kicks to Kross and he goes to the apron for a springboard 450 and hits it but Scarlett puts Kross' foot on the ropes to stop the count.

Mia comes up behind Scarlett and misses a kick.  Scarlett with a punch to MIa.  Kross hits a distracted AJ from behind and hits a Saito suplex.  Kross sets for a forearm but AJ ducks and hits a Pele Kick.  AJ sets for a Styles Clash but Scarlett gets on the apron.  Mia pulls Scarlett off the apron and over the announce table.  AJ with a Pele Kick and Styles Clash for the three count.

Winner:  AJ Styles

We take a look back at Cody and Brock from SummerSlam.

Edge's music plays and he makes his way to the ring.
