Time for Austin Theory to defend his US Title against Bobby Lashley and Bronson Reed.
Lashley came out first to a big pop. Reed was next, to not much of one. Then, out came the champ. They definitely reacted. For an old goat like me, it’s cool to watch a young guy like theory grow and get better and better at his craft. The dude is a stud.
Lashley is the face here, for sure.
Early on, the champ was letting the two big guys fight. Then they decided to work together to take out Lashley. For a second. Theory tried to tell Reed what to do. Reed had other ideas. Now it’s back to everyone clubbering.
Lashley had the Hurt Lock on Theory but Austin powered off the ropes to break it and Bobby ate the TSUNAMI. Theory broke it up. This is good stuff too.
The finish came when Reed missed a moonsault on Theory. Reed got up and ate a spear from Lashley. Theory tossed him to the floor and scored the pin to retain his Title. What I really loved about this was Theory was a smart heel here, not a coward. He did a lot of heavy lifting.

Three weeks from today from nobody’s favorite place, Night of Champions. FMB will have to be on Sunday that week.
Reha Ripley will defend her Smackdown Woman’s Title against Zelina Vega. Rhea came out first to give Zelina an amazing entrance, decked out in Puerto Rico’s colors. She is wearing a full sized flag of Puerto Rico. You can tell she is emotional about the reaction she is getting. She’s crying. It’s awesome!
The fans are not loving Rhea. I bet she is loving being hated. I would be if I were her, what more can a heel ask for?
We have an OLE chant starting a minute in. Zelina’s mom gave a flip flop. She threw it at Rhea and it got big heat. There is a Spanish tradition I don’t know about but the fans sure did. After that the champ went to work on Zelina, and once again mocked Eddy Guerrero.
Zelina is taking a lot of whips into the corner and other assorted beatings. Well, at least until Rhea charged into the corner and missed. Then it evened up a bit. Zelina turned a Rip Tide into a DDT. 619. Eddy shimmy on the top. Meteora, two count only!
Rhea said enough is enough and hit a Rip Tide, 1-2-3.
It was what I expected. Zelina was the underdog who got to show she has fire but Rhea just beat Charlotte. This wasn’t going to be super competitive.
Rhea left and then Zelina got up. She got a massive pop from the crowd. It made her emotional again and it was a great moment. Sometimes even when you lose, you win and she won tonight.
I want to thank WWE for making me work tonight so that I don’t have to watch the ass whooping that the Oilers are putting on my VGK. We are getting squashed.
Time for the first of our double main events. Bad Bunny will take on Damien Priest in a street fight. I like that they put this on as the penultimate match. Brock and Cody deserve the actual main event. Priest is out first, wearing the outfit he wore when he teamed with Bunny. The crowd doesn’t love him. They do, however, love his opponent. The pop for the start of his music as deafening and it was probably louder when he came through the curtain. He has his Savio cane and a chain around his neck. Let the fun begin! Seriously, I love Bunny. He takes the business so seriously. Before he went to the ring, he grabbed a shopping cart of plunder that would make my late, great friend New Jack proud.
Bunny started out hot but Priest then took control and broke the Vegas kendo stick. Priest is a Yankees fan so he is a face to me, ever day and twice on Sunday. Early on Bunny is showing fire against the bigger Priest.
Priest his his finisher but pulled him up at two. BAD MOVE. Bunny back on the attack. The dude has done a Falcon Arrow and a Michinoku Driver. He also splashed from the top to the floor. Bunny takes this seriously and shows respect. I am happy for both of these guys. They have to be loving it.
I just noticed that Bunny has 13 on his shirt. I can see a certain BROTHA not liking that.
Priest feigned leaving. He suckered Bunny into chasing and BB got creamed. Now he is getting abused and BB is taking the beating. Not many stars would do that. Love this guy.
Bunny just took the Broken Arrow off of a road case through plunder on the floor. DAMN! Officials are out and they are saying it’s over. Priest said he’s not done because I’m not done. He scooped up Bunny and carried him back to ringside. Seriously, this dude headlined Coachella both nights, and he is giving to the business like this.
Priest went for a kick but Bunny moved and Priest hit the post. Bunny sees an opening. He took out the knee. Priest is saying to the ref he could be hurt. Bunny then threw the knee into the post. And again. Bunny grabbed a chain and used that to throw the leg into the post. Now he has grabbed a chair an used that on the leg.
Priest is begging and apologizing that Bunny doesn’t hit him with the chair. Bunny being the face fell for it and knocked him down. Bunny not being an idiot then did a low blow on Priest. Out come Balor and Dom. lWo has to be next. Herr comes Rey but Finn and Dom beat him down. Here comes CARLITO COLON. BIG POP! He laid out the JD and took a bite of the apple. Dom attacked. Bad move. 619 and apple to the face of Dom. Now do you believe in the spirit of Santa Claus? I do, here come Savio. He’s one one side. Rey and Carlito are on the other. Dom and Finn are the middle of an Oreo cookie. But that’s not all! Savio shows his lWo shirt and out come the rest of the troops. Savio takes out Finn and Dom and Corey says how he is feeling a little TNT here. Yep, that was Savio’s name there. He’s a legend in PR and I am glad he got this moment.
When everyone leaves, Bunny and Priest face off. His bad leg gave out so Bunny locked on a Figure 4! He got out but when he charged Bunny he ran into a chair set up in the corner. Bunny hit Sliced Bread Numero Dos but Priest kicked out before tres. So Bunny went to work on Priest with a chair and hit a Puerto Rican Destroyer for the win!
This was literally everything that it should have been. Great stuff!
