The Factory (QT Marshall, Aaron Solo, Lee Johnson, Nick Cormorato & Cole Carter) vs Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor, Trent Barretta, Rocky Romero & “A very mysterious very evil partner”
Whhoooooo could the mystery partner be? Whoever they are, they are allowing their team to start this match 5-on-4. Factory is getting rolled early despite the numbers advantage. Huge 4 on 1 punch out of QT. The Factory cuts off their giant hug and now the numbers matter. Big factory hug fest as the crowd boooooos. Factory doing a good job of keeping people isolated until Cassidy gets the tag in. It’s hands in pockets time! Cassidy just running through the Factory until QT lays him out. Quick reverse and the captain is eating buckles. High crossbody! OC tries a ddt but QT pops him up and punches him out of the air. Solo and Cormorato with a backbreaker/diving stomp combo. Taylor catches Solo with a sole food into a German! Blue Thunder from Johnson but OC blast him with a PK. Tornado ddt! Carter cuts off the Orange punch. Best Friends triple dive to the floor. Orange Punch incoming! QT with a cutter reversal! QT is gonna piledrive OC into the stairs. Music hits! It’s Danhausen! But this is a far more evil Danhausen. He has the jar of teeth! He wants revenge for taking the piledriver to the stairs! Slingshot German to QT! Danhausen is cleaning house! He has blood coming from his mouth! Orange Punch to Cormorato! Danhausen fills Nick’s mouth full of human teeth and finishes him with a kick to the face. QT begs off as Danhausen stares him down. His teammates throw QT back for Danhausen to smash him in the forehead with a railroad spike! Everyone hugs! This opener was a lot of fun and I’m glad to see the very evil side of Danhausen showing finally!

Brian Cage (w/ Prince Nana) vs Ricky Starkz
Former Team Taz members collide! Ethan Page is hanging out at commentary to see who he’ll be facing next in the eliminator tournament. How is Starks doing after his match against Lance Archer? Cage goes right at him, Starks brawling back but he’s just getting slammed into the barricade and apron. Cage is picking Starks apart. Ricky holding his ribs as the crowd trying to get behind him. Page cheering Both of them on so he has an easier time this Wednesday. Starks with a chop but Cage just eats it and hits a backbreaker. Cage runs into a boot and Starks starting to fire back. Running back elbows! The Machine is down! Cage catches a high crossbody into a swinging backbreaker! Cage eats a ddt reversal for two! Starks is looking very hurt but still alive as the crowd pumps up again. Starks counters the Weapon X with a rollup! Cage kicks out! Spear from Starks! Cage kicks out! Cage getting picked up…no, cage hits a powerbomb! Buckle bomb! Discus lariat! Starks kicks out! Cage up top…whiff! Starks tries the roshambo…cage is out…Stark with a destroyer! Roshambo connects! Starks gets the three! Ethan Page out to the ramp to stare down his opponent this Wednesday.

Backstage with Eddie Kingston. He doesn’t want to talk right now. He’s clearly emotional as he gears up for what is a lifelong dream match. He can’t even cut a promo on Akiyama…he just says he’s not going to lose this.
Eddie Kingston vs. Jun Akiyama
Crowd is HOT for this. Commentary talking about Akiyama being Kingston’s inspiration for becoming a wrestler. Eddie is clearly feeling the personal weight of this moment. Very tentative feeling out as they grapple for position. Eddie has a full Nelson….Akiyama powers to the ropes. Kingston gives the break but lands a hard chop. Time to test their chins and chests. They are staggering each other repeatedly. Akiyama gets space and tries to come off the corner but Eddie decks him and sends the 30-year vet to the floor. Akiyama kicks out the knee and drives Kingston to the apron with a ddt. Guillotine kneedrop off the apron! Curbstomp and Eddie is looking rough. Akiyama spikes him with a piledriver but Kingston is out at two. Running knee. Eddie knocks Akiyama off the ropes again. Akiyama fighting but Eddie biting his head and super plexes him! Akiyama is back to his feet but so is the Mad King. Trading corner chops and shots to the jaw! Eddie ducks a lariat…Half and half suplex…Akiyama is up with an exploder! Eddie with his own! Running knee! Both are down…Akiyama crawls for the pin but takes too long. Amiyama’s chest is looking like raw meat right now. Eddie with an elbow and spikes a ddt. Kingston hits the backfist! Akiyama kicks out and is back up! He blocks a backfist! Exploder! Knee pad is down and starches Exdie with that knee strike! Eddie barely gets a shoulder up. Kingston blocks a suplex to a northern lights bomb! The straps are down! They lock eyes. Kingston measures and hits the backfist one more time to get the pin! This ruled. I love a good stiff fight. Kingston bows to the mat in respect for his opponent. Akiyama gives that respect right back and they hug it out. Great moment.
Winner: Eddie Kingston
Eddie is super emotional for this win. Ortiz is in to celebrate. Eddie grabs a mic and checks the time. He’s got two minutes to thank everyone for coming tonight. He thanks Jun Akiyama and gives respect to all the Japanese legends who are no longer with us. He talks through the tv to tell people to buy the goddamn PPV. Eddie is just owning the ring and hyping the whole show (the crowd doesn’t LIKE that he picks Mox over MJF) until they cut him off. This was GOLD.

We’re prepping to go to the main card and we’re opening with the Steel Cage grudge match! Jim Ross is out here to join Taz & Excalibur at commentary. We go to black and get all the legal screens out of the way. PYRO BIG BOOM LETS GO! Ah let’s get the draft kings promo out of the way. Heeeeeeeeere we go!
“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry vs Luchasaurus (w/ Christian Cage) (Steel Cage Match)
I like that Cage’s graphic read “masterminded the split between Jungle Boy & Luchsaurus”. AEW cage matches are pinfall or submission only. No escape. This is a TALL looking cage. Cage stays outside (for now). Perry locks eyes with his former friend and slams the cage door shut himself. Ring the bell and this is a speed vs power matchup right from the start. Luchsaurus tries to throw Perry into the steel but Jack catches himself on the wall and dives off Spider-Man style. This doesn’t last. You knew he was gonna get catch…and Luchsaurus lawn darts him into the wall of the cage. Perry is bleeding and gets his head ram across the steel links. Really good close up shot of blood dripping through the cage (or Gross, if that isnt your taste). Luchasaurus with huge palm strikes and big slams. The big man has slowed this down and Perry is wearing the full crimson mask as this point. Perry getting smashed into the cage repeatedly. Perry tries a rebound clothesline but it does nothing. Crucifix bomb into the cage! Jungle Boy won’t stay down but he’s looking like a bloody rag doll. Luchasaurus tries a chokeslam but Perry turns it into an armbar on the ropes! Luchasaurus tosses Perry off the top. Big cutthroat but Jack won’t quit. Cage just stole the key to the cage. Christian is unlocking the cage….the ref is calling for security to remove him! The door is open and the fight spills to the floor! Perry comes running but he gets catapulted into the cage. Christian is gone but Luchasaurus finds a table under the ring between the gap of the cage itself. We got a table and chairs inside the cage now. Perry kicks the rope and crotches Luchasaurus! He’s coming back with dropkicks! Shotgun into the cage! Jacks got his wits back but Luchasaurus back body drops him to the apron. Jack with a step up destroyer off a chair! Chair shot to the head! Killswitch onto the chair! Luchasaurus kicks out! Sliced Bread off the cage! Luchasaurus with an undertaker sit-up! Perry is furious! Luchasaurus takes a flurry of elbows but crumbles Perry with a headbutt. Jack is up in a rage after several shots and going toe to toe with his former friend. He gets Luchasaurus up and hits him with a piledriver!!! Kick out! Luchasaurus tries a chokeslam into table but Perry blocks it. Luchasaurus with a tombstone and a reverse powerbomb! Crowd chanting this is awesome and yes it is. Perry blocks the slam and tries to put the big man to sleep. Luchasaurus laid out on the table…Jack swings hard and blast him to sleep with a chair. Jungle Boy to the top of the cage! He looks to the sky as he drops and elbows Luchasaurus through the table! He wraps up a snare trap and Luchasaurus is forced to tap. This was awesome!
