Time for Black & Gold vs. 2.0 in Wargames.

They really have teased this is Johnny Gargano's last appearance tonight.  He took a moment before heading to the Cage.  The word we heard this week is that he turned down a new long-term deal and there's an expectation he will exit this month, similar to KOR if he doesn't sign a new deal as well.

Gargano and Carmelo Hayes start out.  They went back and forth and it was extremely enjoyable, to the point that if Gargano leaves, It will really suck they didn't get to have a program here.  Grayson Waller was next in as 2.0 has the advantage.  Trick Williams tossed a chair high in the air over the cage and almost hit Johnny with it.  Gargano grabbed it and knocked him off the cage with it but was overwhelmed.

Things evened up with Black & Gold's Pete Dunne entering the fray.  That is someone I would not want to mess with.  Dunne and Gargano lock stereo submissions on.  Tables are brought into the fray.  Dexter Lumis emerged from under the ring and chased Trick Willams away before giving the thumbs up to Johnny.  Nice way to close that loop.

It turned into plunder time with weapons galore before LA Knight was next to enter.  2.0 had locked the door shut so they could keep beating on his boys.  Knight went to the other side and climbed in.  He looked really good taking out 2.0 members.  Black and Gold beat the hell out of the New Breed.  The officials couldn't use a bolt cutter to break the chain.  As a brawl with weapons, this was fun.

Bron Breaker was the next out and they showed off his power by having him use the bolt cutters to open the cage.  Breaker hit all the classic Steiner spots on his opponents, immediately killing their momentum.  Great way to show what a badass he is - even overpowering them despite the fact they had weapons.  Pete Dunne getting suplexed from one ring to the other looked awesome and could never get old.

Tommaso was the next in and cleaned house with the held of a trash can.  Lots of trash cans tonight.  Perhaps WWE can market their own line.  Probably not.  Finally, Black and Gold all beat down 2.0 against the cage, controlling the ring.  Gargano lawn darted Carmello into a trash can placed against the cage.  That was great and every indy company will steal that spot.

Waller was going to come off the top but was caught by LA Knight and hit with an overhead belly to belly through a table and that looked rough.  Beth Phoenix called it a demolition derby and she was not wrong.  Ciampa saved Gargano from Breaker and Tony, then hit the Air Raid Crash off the ropes through a trash can.  Waller hit a flying elbow off the top of the cage.

D'Angelo somehow found a Crowbar.  No, not the one from WCW.  Dunne beat the living hell out of everyone with a Singapore Cane but D'Angelo drilled him with the crowbar.  He removed Dunne's mouth guard and then hit a neckbreaker off the top with the crowbar, which was a hell of a spot.  These guys are just beating the hell out of each other.  For anyone who worried the Takeover quality might end here, this has been a hell of a match.

We got some DIY reunion spots as Gargano and Ciampa double-teamed Breaker.  Hayes returned to low blow Gargano and rake Ciampa's eyes.  Gargano held onto Hayes, sacrificing himself so Ciampa could take Hayes.  Breaker destroyed Ciampa with a spear through a table, then did a military press and drop for the pin on Ciampa.

This was a great wargames.  2.0 victorious and Breaker once again draws his line in the sand that he's coming for the NXT title belt.  As a way to raise the credibility of the newer talents, this was great.  They went to war and you had to respect how much punishment they went through.    Now, we'll see where they go from here.

Two really entertaining cage matches here.  If you were hoping for NXT Wargames, you got it.
