So far, a fun show.  Very enjoyable and leaning more into what we normally expect from a Takeover show.

It's time for the Hair vs. Hair match with Duke Hudson vs. Cameron Grimes.  This was Hudson's first real PPV marquee bout and lucky for him, he got a lot of boos and heel reaction as the crowd was totally into Grimes as a babyface.  It was Hudson's strength vs. Grimes' tenaciousness.   Grimes was beaten down and tossed to the floor but made it to the ring before he was counted out.  They went back and forth before Grimes rolled up Hudson.

Hudson tried to attack Grimes but was KO'd and had his head shaved.

From an in-ring standpoint, this couldn't follow the first two matches but as an undercard character deal for Grimes and Hudson, it was solid.  This wasn't designed to be the show stealer, but to continue to showcase the personalities and that was fine.

More vignettes.  They've turned the Grizzled Young Veterans into Jay & Silent Bob in Mallrats!!?!?!?!

Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter are now ravers?  That is an odd choice for the AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR!

Draco Anthony is shown.

They announced New Year's Evil 2022 for Tuesday 1/4.

Next was Roderick Strong vs. Joe Gacy for the Cruiserweight title.  As someone who has seen a lot of pre-NXT Gacy, he's done a great job of changing just about every facet of his personality for this role.  I love Roderick Strong's work but wish WWE would give him a big more of a spotlight.  As for the match, it was OK but with just under nine minutes, this didn't really have a lot of time to ferment and get the roots down.  The pacing was fast and they worked hard but if this had even 5 more minutes, they could have been onto something and I feel they sort of short-changed Gacy by having him lose such a short bout when they are trying to get him over.  The stuff with Harland picking up Ivy Nile but Gacy wanted her put back down was interesting.  I wonder if this was a victim of having time cut.

Kyle O'Reilly challenged Von Wagoner to a steel cage match this Tuesday on WWE NXT.
