BANDIDO VS. FLAMITA, OGK VS. LFI, GRESHAM VS. BRODY & MORE: ROH HONOR FOR ALL 2021 PPV REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2021-11-15 00:39:00

ROH Tag Team Title pre-match promos.  Matt Taven cut a promo saying he wanted he and Bennett to win the ROH Tag belts and keep them forever.  He got teary as he talked about attending the last Boston Garden event before that venue was ripped down and that his father told him to remember the place forever.  He will do the same for ROH Mike Bennett said this match is why he came back after five years.  This is where they show what The Kingdom stands for.  Kenny King got a funny line in that the challengers were just two guys who got over because one of them had a hot girlfriend and took turns polishing Adam Cole’s crotch.  King said no one called for OGK to reunite.  Dragon Lee said they are the best team in the world and LFI, so they will win.  Both sides came off well here.

Shane Taylor joined the announcers and talked up his Final Battle PPV bout against Kenny King.

Lots of solid work here early on as they went back and forth tagging in and out.  Taven hit the first big dive of the match, wiping out both members of LFI.  He went for a stuff piledriver off the top rope but was shoved off to prevent it from happening.  That allowed LFI to cut the ring off and work over Taven for a long time with King shining here especially while on the offensive.

Taven finally, after several false starts, got the hot tag and Mike Bennett began throwing German suplexes like he was from Minnesota.  Bennett and Dragon Lee battled back and forth and each looked good.  Everyone battled.  King nailed a big powerbomb on Bennett but Taven charged with a knee strike to prevent the three count.

Everyone battled as it was pandemonium, as Gorilla Monsoon would often boast.  They went into a series of signature maneuvers by one talent, then the opposing side would hit one and so on.  Max the Impaler and Amy Rose came out and distracted LFI, so here’s Amy Rose getting her storyline revenge for LFI turning on her awhile back.

That allowed Kenny King to be rolled up and pinned and for good measure, Max speared him on the floor after the bout as well.

Taven and Bennett sat in the crowd crying for some time after.

They hugged Bobby Cruise after the match and put him over.  They kissed the ROH logo as they walked up the aisle.

Bandido cut a promo saying the No DQ match is how he’s going to end Flamita.  He said if Flamita wants to take his mask, now is his chance to try, but he’s going to take out Flamita.

EC3 joined the announcing booth.  He said Flamita cost him his ROH title opportunity.  He said Honor as we know it is a lie and he’ll soon show everyone why.

ROH Champion Bandido vs. Demonic Flamita in a No DQ bout (non-title)

Like, seriously, what the hell is the point of even having a non-title match at this point?

Flamita attacked Bandido and beat him down, using a steel chair as his weapon of choice early on while beating on the champion’s knee.  Bandido made a comeback and did a reverse flip dive to the floor and his knee was magically fine.

They brawled on the floor with Bandido setting up a table but it wasn’t used.  Flamita cut him off with a superkick.  They battled back and forth and brawled back to the floor.  Bandido tried to put Fenix through the table but it didn’t break.  Who trained these tables tonight, Lou Thesz?  They are shooting, not working with the talents.

They battled back and forth.  Flamita gained control with a low blow (hey, it’s legal here) but Bandido survived.  He made a comeback with a low blow of his own before the 21Plex and scored the pinfall.

Your winner, ROH Champion Bandido!

There was some good to very good wrestling across the spectrum of this quick and easy to watch two hour PPV.  However, that just made it imminently more depressing thinking about the current state of ROH and where things are going.  But, in the moment, even with cryptic references by Ian Riccaboni and others, this was easily enjoyable and at times, fun.  That is a credit to all these talents working under some really emotionally conflicting circumstances.
