Effy and Gray did a pre-show promo mocking the idea that the “Outlaw Mud Show” talents had come to ROH. Effy said The Briscoes showed up in GCW looking for some independent rebel clout. Gray said they came for their titles and the Briscoes might end up dead tonjght.
The Briscoes touted that they went to Los Angeles and took the GCW titles. They said they’ve been doing GCW style since the challengers were babies. They said they’ll whoop everyone’s ass.

They showed the GCW logo as the challengers came to the ring.
If you aren’t aware, The Briscoes had been allowed to work for GCW even before the end of ROH’s current state was officially announced. Effy and Gray are GCW regulars and the idea here is they have journeyed to Ring of Honor to take the belts back.
This was very much a physical street fight right from the start as Effy and Jay began brawling. Early on, it felt very different from everything else thus far on the show. Mark worked over Effy, who tagged out to Gray. They went to the floor brawling and it was all entertaining.
They returned to the ring, with Gray suplexing Mark onto a steel chair. A table was brought into the ring. The Briscoes began channeling Kevin Sullivan, flinging chairs into the challengers’ faces. Gray was slammed into a chair in the corner.
Jay attempted to use a table but Effy came off the ropes with a Buff Blockbuster on Jay and unfortunately, the table didn’t break, so it looked extra rough. Jay was covered but Mark dove in to break up the pinfall attempt. The battle continued. Effy was nailed with the Froggy Bow elbow through a table by Mark.
Jay nailed the Jay-Driller on Gray and scored the pin.

All four showed each other respect after.
Entertaining brawl but this felt like they could have done a lot more with more time. Still, this felt fun and fresh as Effy and Gray have never been featured before. The GCW Hammerstein Ballroom debut was plugged by the announcers.
Brody King cut a promo wondering if Jonathan Gresham had the killer instinct to take him out. Gresham said everything King believes in and the war they have been fighting comes down to this and the winner goes on to challenge for the ROH Championship at the PPV. He said this means everything to him. It is his destiny to become ROH Champion.
Jonathan Gresham vs. Brody King - Winner earns ROH title shot at Final Battle
Jay Lethal was not with The Foundation when Gresham came out. As we reported yesterday, he didn’t work the November TV tapings.
The story before ROH announced the end of this incarnation of the company was that Gresham was moving to the World title division, so this was his foray into that realm. Obviously, there is a big size disparity here and this continued the Pure Wrestling vs. Violence Unlimited storyline.
Brody, obviously, was in control early and smashed Gresham with a Gonzo Bomb, going for the pinfall in the first sequence of the match but Gresham kicked out at 27/28s of a second before the three count.
King beat down Gresham, in the ring and on the floor, trash talking the Foundation’s leader. Gresham was sent into the barricade and the ring post. Gresham was able to turn the tide of the match and nailed several dives to break down King. King was almost counted out but rolled back in at the 19 count.
King missed a cannonball in the corner and then a back senton splash. Gresham EXPLODED with offensive maneuvers, tagging King with strikes and a big running forearm that KO’d him and led to Gresham scoring the pin.

This was nothing short of excellent as Brody was Ivan Drago and then Gresham basically became Rocky with the shocking victory.
Jonathan Gresham will challenge for the ROH title on 12/11 at Final Battle.
