JON MOXLEY VS. NICK GAGE DEATH MATCH & MORE: COMPLETE GCW FIGHT CLUB COVERAGE FROM ATLANTIC CITY, NJ

Match 7: “Iron Demon” Shane Mercer vs “The Shooterweight” Yoya

Yoya has been impressing as of late but he has a hell of a test in the Iron Demon. Yoya using his quickness to evade getting thrown into the audience early. It doesn’t last….Mercer yeets Yoya over the corner ring post into a pile of people. Yoya eats a ring post chop as Mercer drags him into the crowd for a beating. Mercer with a double choke and throws him through the curtain. Yoya running back with forearms and hits a sliced bread off the post. Mercer throws him into the ropes but Yoya bounces off into a ddt on the floor. Somersault head scissors over the top! Mercer with a popup but Yoya falls into a standing kimura! Mercer powers out of the hold and slams Yoya but he doesn’t release the kimura! Mercer back to his feet, rams him into the buckles and throws him overhead. Yoya flips and crashes into the mat for two. Mercer with a powerbomb setup into a fast powerslam for two. Great move. Mercer catches Yoya again in a torture rack. He spins it but Yoya with an arm drag out of it. Yoya dives but Mercer catches him and clubs him to the apron. Mercer pulls him to the top. Yoya in the fireman’s carry. Piledriver off the top! Mercer takes a long time getting to the pin and Yoya kicks out. Mercer walking in and Yoya grabs the ankle into a heel hook! Mercer powers out and stomps his face. He picks up Yoya and hits a running springboard Moonsault & Battery (moonsault powerslam). Yoya grabs the rope to avoid the pinfall. The ref is the only thing that is keeepign Yoya on his feet. Mercer holds the kid up and eats a slap. Yoya dragged to his feet and Mercer tries to press slam him itself the crowd. Yoya reverses into a poisonrana! Destroyer! Mercer kicks out! Yoya hits a brain buster! Kick out! Yoya up to the top, Mercer with an enziguri stuns him. Yoya escapes the moonsault & battery, takes Mercer’s back and almost chokes him out. Mercer rages back to life, climbs the ropes…puts Yoya in a tombstone position and hits a moonsault press from that position to score the pin. Yoya held his own here and absorbed a ton of punishment but Mercer is scary strong. 

Winner: Shane Mercer

Brett Lauderdale is back, confirming that Matt Cardona is gone and it’s time for the big announcement. They play a video for the crowd. It starts with a bunch of vignettes of people hearing voices that they aren’t good enough, are too violent, too skinny, too small, too backyard, not good enough….Cut to a pan shot of the HAMMERSTEIN BALLROOM. GCW IS GOING TO THE HAMMERSTEIN ON JAN 23rd!!!

 

 

FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS. Nick Gage cuts through a rabid GCW crowd for a wild prolonged entrance. Moxley enters to L7’s “S***list” to take on the fight he started back in Tampa. Foley holds up the GCW belt and leaves the competitors to their ultra violence. 

Main Event: Jon Moxley(c) vs Nick Gage (w/ Dewey Donovan) (for the GCW World Championship)

Gage blasts Mox with a bundle of tubes before the bell. Mox is busted right open but stands right up and retaliates with a bundle of his own. Slugfest as little bit of light tube glass.

Gage comes running and Mox backdrops him over the top through a pane of glass and a barbed wire board. Mox brings Gage back in and pulls out a pizza cutter. Mox chokes on Gage and runs that cutter across the forehead. Pizza cutter back out. Mox licks the blood off the pizza cutter and makes a snow angel in the broken glass. Gage rams Mox’s head into the buckle hook and baseball slides light tubes into his face.

Fighting into the crowd, Gage gets a face to hold a chair up for him to smash Mox into. Gage comes running and blasts into Mox’s head at ringside. Spinebuster into the glass. Gage brings in a barbed wire board. Mox with an inside out suplex and Gage rolls into the wires. The ref has wire cutters that Mox steals and wraps around his fist. Rabbit punches to the head of the king.

More punches to the head and Mox grinding that barbed wire into Gage’s face. Mox wraps the wire around the neck and hits a neckbreaker for two. Mox has him in a fireman’s carry, Gage slips it and spears him through a pane of glass! Gage puts a chair on his chest and drops an elbow from the top. Gage busts a tube and brings that jagged edge to Mox’s forehead. He grabs the pizza cutter and makes Moxley’s head a bloody canvas. He shoves the pizza cutter into Mox’s mouth and cuts at his tongue.

Mox fires up with lariats. Double arm ddt but Gage is out at one. Mox with a cutter into the tubes. Gage out at two! Slugfest on their knees. Trading headbutts. Gage firing up with more headbutts. DDT into the glass. Body splash with a chair to the head. Boot wash with light tubes. Mox tries to fight it but Gage spikes a piledriver. Mox kicks out! Mox recovering as Gage sets up a pane of glass on a pair of chairs. Gage drags Moxley to the top….Mox fights out. Biting at Gage’s face. Death Rider off the top through the glass. Nick Gage is down for the three count! WOW!

Winner: Jon Moxley

I was sure Gage was going to take his prize back but Moxley just proved he belonged in that ring with the king. Gage is left a bloody mess in the ring as Moxley raises his belt and exits the ring. Moxley is just glittering with glass shards. “All that glitters is not gold, sometimes it’s glass”.

Gage slowly pulls himself back up as the crowd chants “MDK!” And shows their appreciation for their leader.

Gage grabs the mic and apologizes for the loss. He loves them. They fuel him and bring him back to life. He’ll keep doing this as long as those motherf***ers keep chanting MDK. Gage makes a promise. He will bring the belt back to his gang. MDK.

And that’s it for “Fight Club”. Everyone brought the fire tonight. The main event was the level of carnage we expected from Mox and Gage. Lot of great action here tonight with one of their largest crowds ever (definitely in the Showboat). GCW returns tomorrow night for “The Aftermath” featuring Joey Janela vs Minoru Suzuki.
