CAN JOE TAKE THE BELT FROM KROSS, BEST OF THREE FALLS TIME, I JUST WATCHED THE MATCH OF 2021, IT'S TIME FOR WALTER-ILJA 2, WILL KAI GET WHAT SHE HAS COMING, WHO IS KNIGHT'S BUTLER, A STATEMENT ON WHAT I THINK IS ABOUT TO BECOME THE SAD STATE OF NXT AND WHOSE FAULT IT IS (HINT, IT’S NOT HHH) - FULL NXT TAKEOVER 36 BLOG

The match I have been waiting for is here.  WALTER defends the NXT UK Title against Ilja Dragunov next.  If it even comes close to the first one it will be the match of the weekend.

Ilja is wearing a bandage over the cut he gave himself on Wednesday.  Imperium is with WALTER.  Richard Trionfo is there for this match and I envy him.  It’s time!

Imperium stayed in the back.  Fans are chanting for WALTER.  He is a beast.  So is Ilja.  This is why I watch wrestling my friends.

WALTER is in great shape.  Fans are chanting that WALTER will kill him.

Starting slow, as they should.  This just feels different, real-ish, like they are really going to war.

Beth is talking about how their first match got Edge fired up about wrestling again.  I totally get it.  It’s even for the first few minutes.

WALTER just hit a slap that knocked Ilja over the top to the floor.  DAMN!  Powerbomb on the apron.  It’s time for Ilja to get punished.

German suplex, Ilja sold it like it hurt as much as it looked like did.  The champ is here, and WALTER is a real champ (sorry John Jack).

Ilja is coming back.  Let me tell you this, when these guys hit moves, you hear and feel them.

Ilja is back to getting beaten up.  He is taking a pounding but he will keep coming back.  That is what does.  But damn that kick to the head he took?  OUCH!  But he keeps coming back.  They are throwing it now.

This is stiff as hell.  Knee to the jaw of the champ.  OUCH.  Fans are loving this, as they should.  Two HUGE lariats put the challenger down for 2.  This is so great.

The cut is open again and it’s firing up Ilja,  I don’t like seeing blood but when it’s organic I can appreciate it and this is organic.  His chest is busted up too.  These guys are, to quote Dusty Rhodes, are clobbering.  The fans are LOVING it.  Me too.  It’s awesome.

Ilja was in control and charged into a Sleeper but he got out and nailed a big elbow.  Both men are down.  They are up, Ilja almost wins.  He is getting frustrated.  He is throwing chops and eating chops.  WALTER went up but Ilja came up and hit a superplex and then a dropkick from the top.  Fans are chanting FIGHT FOREVER.

Challenger just ran into a dropkick and got nailed by a powerbomb, TWO COUNT ONLY.  Man I feel for whoever follows this. Ilja’s chest is a mess.

Champ with a powerboat and a big splash from the top, but Ilja kicks out!

Nothing they are doing looks choreographed or agreed on, and that makes it soooooo good.

Ilja threw a bunch of hands and put on a sleeper.  WALTER got up and went to the second ropes and jumped backward breaking it, but Ilja is back on him.  He is choking him.  Champ got up and fell backward but the challenger didn’t let go.  WALTER is fighting but he is in trouble.  Ilja is pounding the snot out of him.  He locked in the Sleeper and WE HAVE A F’ING TAP, and it was quick.  NEW NEXT UK CHAMPION, ILJA DRAGUNOV.

The first match was the best match of 2020.  This match is the best match of 2021.

The fans are popping big, and they were a WALTER crowd.  Ilja grabbed the Title and put his foot on WALTER and the lifted the belt to the sky.  That match was why I love pro wrestling, 100 percent.

Cameron Grimes and Ted are in the back.  Fun promo.  They are doing a Million Dollar Celebration.

Joe is in the back getting read for the main event.  William Regal came in to talk.  He is biased and hopes Joe entertains the fans and he wants Joe to kick his ass.

Kyle O’Reilly vs. Adam Cole best of three falls is next.

They are starting hot, as they should given the issue.  Fall One of three is tradition but they are out on the floor.

The first fall was quick. like five minutes.  Cole went for Panama Sunrise but Kyle caught him and pinned him.  We go right into Fall Two, a Street Fight.

Kyle put Cole in a chair on the floor.  Put a trashcan on it and did a running dropkick.  OUCH.  They are going 100 miles an hour.  It feel like if this is the end of “our” NXT these guys want to give us something to remember.

Cole just took Kyle out with a rib shot and is in control now.

The fans are into Cole, hopefully because they want the third fall.  Cole is the heel here.  He’s using the chair on Kyle.  He is dominated Fall 2 but Kyle keeps coming back.  They are throwing it all and I half wonder if we won’t see fall three.  That would be different.

Cole doesn’t like my thought.  He just wrapped a chain around his hand but Kyle also has one.  They are throwing chain punches.  Cole got a two after a superkick.

They are fighting on the ramp way.  Kyle threw him off the stage into the security barrier.  Ouch.  Cole countered with a neck breaker on the floor.

They are back in the ring and Cole has the chairs.  He set them up but Kyle got out of it.  Cole is on the chair and Kyle went to the top but Cole popped up and threw him on the chairs, then hit The Last Shot.  Down comes the cage for Fall Three.
