HARDCORE WAR, JAZZ'S LAST STAND AND MORE: IMPACT WRESTLING HARDCORE JUSTICE 2021 PPV REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2021-04-10 18:00:00

Back at Swinger's Palace, Acey Romero was almost so drunk he was going to be sick.  Larry D wanted to know when they were having their match.  Storm said their match was on.  Storm asked if anyone had ping pong balls.  They are playing beer pong.  Sabin through the ball at the cup.  Storm told him he had to get it in the cup, not hit the cup.  It ended up with the two teams brawling and destroying the place.  Swinger asked John E. Bravo if he paid the insurance premium.  On an illegal casino, Bravo asked?  What a bad rib, Swinger responded.

Ultimate Jeopardy: Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo vs. Jazz - If Jazz loses, she must retire.

Jazz immediately backed Deonna into the corner and wailed away at her with chops.  She charged but was drilled with an elbow.  She avoided a charge and nailed a spinning kick for a two count.  Deonna went right after the shoulder, trying to wear the challenger down for a submission, but ate a forearm to the face.  Jazz followed up with a series of other forearm strikes.  Jazz reversed a whip into the corner and nailed the champ, who rolled to the floor, trying to quell Jazz's momentum.  Jazz went to grab her but Deonna snapped her arm over the rope, then drilled her with a slingshot into the bottom rope.

Deonna began focusing on Jazz's arm, working it over.  Deonna sunk in a deep armbar.  Jazz fought her way out and had a fiery series of strikes but was caught with a divorce court style DDT for a two count.  Deonna kept stomping away at her and snapped the arm and shoulder.   Deonna kept tearing away at the shoulder and drilled it with elbows, focusing on that joint.  She continued to smash and tear away at Jazz.  Jazz was knocked to the mat.  Deonna tied her up around the ropes, setting the stage for a basement dropkick to Jazz, who had no way to defend herself.

Jazz recovered and made her way back into the ring but was assaulted as she as she got through the ropes.  Purrazzo stomped the hell out of her and scored a two count after a clothesline.  So far, this has featured some of the best wrestling on the show.  Purrazzo continued to control Jazz on the mat.  Jazz fought to her feet and nailed a big back elbow.  Purrazzo charged but Jazz dropped down and pulled the middle rope down with her.  Purrazzo crashed to the floor.  Jazz followed her to the outside and worked over Purrazzo, smashing her into the ring post and the apron.  Jazz grabbed a steel chair and brought it into the ring.

Jazz tossed some other weapons into the ring as this is being held under "Old School" (ECW) Rules.  Purrazzo was worked over by Jazz with a series of punches and nailed the Jazz Stinger for a two count.  Deonna grabbed her wrist and snapped Jazz into an armbar.  Jazz fought her way to the ropes to force a break.

Purrazzo grabbed the Knockouts title belt and went to use it as a weapon but missed and Jazz caught her with a Samoan Drop.  Jazz drilled her in the mid-section and the back with a steel chair.  Jazz nailed a DDT on a chair and covered Deonna, who kicked out at the last second.  Jazz couldn't believe it.   Purrazzo caught her with a pump kick and nailed her with an exploder.

Purrazzo, incensed, told Jazz she was ending her and nailed the Queen's Gambit piledriver.  Purrazzo scored the pin.

Your winner and still Knockouts Champion, Deonna Purrazzo!

Jazz will have to retire and she had one hell of a meaningful final match.  EASILY the best thing on the show.

Jazz was devastated about the loss.

Jordynne Grace hit the ring and consoled her, telling Jazz that she was sorry.  She helped Jazz up and held the ropes open for her as Jazz exited the ring.  She raised Jazz's arm on the entrance ramp.

Backstage, Tommy Dreamer was laid out.  Dr. Ross Forman ruled he could not be cleared to wrestle tonight.

Hardcore War: Violent by Design - Eric Young & Rhino & Joe Doering & Deaner vs. Team Dreamer - Tommy Dreamer (?) & Impact Wrestling Champion Rich Swann & Willie Mack & Eddie Edwards.

They are doing Wargames style entrances.  Heels obviously won the advantage earlier in the day.

Eddie Edwards and Deaner started.  Edwards attacked Deaner on the floor and smashed him into the apron.  Deaner tried to use a weapon but Edwards nailed him.  Deaner fought back and ripped away at Edwards' face outside.  Deaner worked over Ewards, who finally made a comeback and had Deaner on the run with a steel chair when the next entrant was revealed...

Rhino came out.  That distracted Edwards, allowing Deaner to attack him from behind.  Rhino held Edwards for Deaner to drill him in the mid-section with a chair.  Edwards' face was smashed into the chair.  Edwards tried to fight back against the two on one beating.  That continued until the next entrant...

Willie Mack was next, bringing Eddie Edwards' Singapore Cane Kenny with him.  He cleaned house and presented it to the former Impact Champion.  Edwards psyched himself up and drilled Deaner in the mid-section, then nailed him across the back.  Mack kept Rhino out of the ring as they beat down Deaner and worked him over in the corner.

The next entrant was Joe Doering.

Edwards and Mack met Doering as he entered the ring but he rolled through them as he rebounded off the ropes.  Deaner began tossing weapons into the ring.  He smashed Edwards with a cookie sheet.  Violent by Design worked over Team Dreamer the entire time.

The next entrant is Impact Wrestling Champion Rich Swann, who kiked Doering low, then smashed him with a street sign.  He drilled everyone else from VBD with the weapons, allowing Team Dreamer to overtake the ring.  He choked out Rhino with a steel chain.

The final competitor for VBD was Eric Young.  For a guy with a torn ACL, he ran down the ramp pretty damn good and attacked everyone with a hockey stick.  Once again, Violent by Design had taken control.  Team Dreamer was ravaged.

They counted down for the final competitor, but instead of Tommy Dreamer, Trey Miguel was the final competitor.  He charged out and nailed a series of Scorpion Kicks on Deaner, then nailed a neckbreaker.  He dropkicked Rhino off the apron.  Doering stalked him but Trey fired up and attacked him, then nailed a dive onto the other members of VBD.  He charged back into the ring and attacked Doering but was taken out by a massive running cross bodyblock.

Everyone brawled around the ringside area.  Everyone nailed their signature moves as they returned to the ring.  Swann was grabbed and Gored through a table in the corner.  He covered Swann for a two count.  Young and Swann battled in the corner, setting up for a Tower of Doom spot where all the babyfaces were going to take out EY but Doering hit the scene and wiped them all out instead.

Outside, Doering placed Edwards on a table.  He went to the apron to smash Edwards but Miguel nailed a Meteora that sent Doering through the table, down upon Edwards, to the floor.

The other members of Violent by Design continued to assault Team Dreamer.  Young went for a piledriver but Mack backdropped him.  Deaner smashed Mack in the back with a trash can lid.  He stumbled into Young, who nailed him with a piledriver and scored the pin.

Your winners, Violent by Design!

Solid brawling main event with the type of story you'd expect from this.  Trey as the sub for Dreamer was fine but advertising him all through the show and then doing the switch is very BLEH to me even if you argue it's putting a younger, hotter talent in a stronger position.    It will all be forgotten tomorrow though.  Eric Young working as well and hard as he did with a torn ACL IS MADNESS.  You have to respect that level of dedication.

I'll have a short post-game forthcoming for Elite subscribers!
