We are live at the Thunderdome for WWE’s first PPV on The Cock, Fastlane. I will be watching the ad supported version to see how the experience is on the Premium, with ads, plan.
On the pre-show, they had Matt Riddle defend his Title against Ali. Ali does what he and Retribution do best, lose. The work is fine and Ali deserves better booking, but it’s time to blow up Retribution. They so no over that they are actually under.
As Bianca was coming out, I tried to pause The Cock, just to see what happens. Guess what? It shows that the event has a four hour block with 2 hours and 10 minutes left to go. his could be an epic clusterf*** if it ends before the main event is over.
Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax are defending their Tag Titles against Belair and Sasha Banks. They are selling that both teams have issues and could implode.
The challengers start off in charge on Shayna. So far the picture is fine. And the heels took over. Reggie is at ringside. I guess he got “healthy” from his wonderful spa day.
The challengers got back in when Sasha made a hot tag. Bianca hit a 450 but Reggie got involved and broke up the fall. Sasha locked on The Bank Statement but Nia came in. Bianca came in to stop her but got pushed on Sasha to break the fall. And predictably, Sasha got in Belair’s face and told her to get out. This allowed Shayne to roll up Sasha for the pin. Sasha was mad. Bianca was sneering a little, like you told me to take a hike. Sasha and Bianca argued after the match. Sasha called her a rookie and then slapped her in the face. Then she left. I guess that makes Sasha the heel. Bianca pointed at the sign and said that’s OK, she will get her at Mania.
This was the perfect example of an “it was fine for what it was” match.
We got a WWE commercial after the PPV. Then a WWE on Hulu commercial. Interesting.
We were shown a picture of Shane McMahon from earlier today when he was training. He is faking a knee injury. He just came out of the doctor’s room with an ice pack on his knee, using a crutch. Elias saw him and started whining he wants to perform for the crowd at Mania. Shane says not now. Elias won’t stop. He said he has an idea.
Big E defends his IC Title against Uhaa Crews next.
Cruhaa is out first. He is carrying a spear. Yes, a spear.
Big E came out probably shaking his head on the inside at Apollo’s entrance. So he started out by spearing Crews out of the ring. E was talking smack on him, saying this is what you asked for and them he splashed him on the apron. OUCH! Then he did it again. Double Ouch!
But Cruhaa channeled the power of the Spear and his new accent to make a comeback. Crews got a two with a frog splash.
And then we quickly went to the finish. Crews was doing a rollup and, I guess, E rolled through. I can’t rewind (Thanks The Cock). The announcers were guessing at the finish too. Crews attacked Big E after the match using his really bad accent. He put his foot over Big E and mugged for the camera.
The match was too short to say much about. It looked like it was on its way to being something good and then it suddenly ended, with a bad finish. They went to a WWE Draft Kings commercial before showing a replay. I wouldn’t bother if I were them. Then we got a WWE themed Old Spice commercial. I wonder if the folks paying extra for ad free are getting this. The Old Spice guy pinned R Truth for the Title, then lost it back to Truth.
The Raw announce team is out. It’s supposed to be Shane vs. Braun. Shane is in the ring with Elias and Ryker. Elias started to play when Sweato said stop, I forgot to tell you, you are taking my place. So welcome to Peacock everyone who tuned in to see Shane wrestle, screw you! Obviously, this gem will be saved for Mania. I will now guess at what will happen. Braun destroyed Elias. Will Elias get in anything? That’s the question.
Braun destroying him when Ryker pulled Elias out of the ring. He ducked when Braun came out. At the 9 count Ryker threw him back in the ring. I guess he thinks if Elias wins he will get to play for the Mania crowd. Ryker distracted Braun and it allowed Elias to take out the leg. He got a two with the Savage Elbow from the top. His time in command didn’t last long. Braun hit the running power slam and got the pin. He stormed to the back while we got a replay. We didn’t get that for the Big E match. Smart move.
Another Draft Kings commercial for WWE. We got a Steve Austin Sessions commercial. I assumed that people that paid for no ads are getting the ads too and I just heard that they were. 5 extra bucks a month for the ads. There ya go!
Riddle talked to Shinsuke Nakamura before his match with Seth Rollins. Riddle did his stoner bit. Rollins came out first, then Nakamura.
