WWE SMACKDOWN REPORT: ADAM BEAT THE BULLY, CESARO VERSUS BRYAN, BIG E HAS A COUCH, AND MORE

By Richard Trionfo on 2021-01-15 21:58:00

We begin with a look back at what Adam Pearce has done over recent weeks.

We are at the Thunderdome in St. Petersburg, Florida and your announcers are Corey Graves and Michael Cole.

Roman Reigns is in his office reading the contract.  Paul Heyman is looking over Roman's shoulder and Paul says they gave him the contract 2 minutes before the show started.  It is the same contract with the same verbiage but it is for the Royal Rumble.  Paul says he hates the contract.  There needs to be a stipulation for the match that gives Roman the freedom to be him.  It needs to teach Adam Pearce fear and respect.  Paul offers to take the contract back to Adam Pearce.  Paul tells Roman to consider this handled.

Jey Uso comes to the ring and he welcomes everyone to Smackdown and then calls it the Bloodline Show.  They run this show, not Adam Pearce, not Kevin Owens, not anyone in the WWE Universe.  My family is the one calling the shots.  Adam Pearce, you better be careful or you will wish you put that suit back on.  If you think we are satisfied with Smackdown think again.  For everything you get, you should be saying 'Thank you Roman'.  For getting people to watch you and make you relevant for the first time in years, you need to say Thank You Roman.

Jey says he is trying to get his and the family is going to expand.  Jey says he is in the Royal Rumble Match.  He says he will win the Royal Rumble and then go to Raw and beat Drew McIntyre, Oldberg, or whoever is the WWE Champion.

Before the Rumble, I have business with Shinsuke Nakamura.  Everyone talks about the gauntlet.  He had to survive against opponent after opponent.  Nakamura beat Rey Mysterio, Baron Corbin, and Daniel Bryan.  When we said he was done, he was out like a light.  Nakamura, you should be thanking us because we let you survive.  Now you want to step up and fight?  You the King of Strong Style?  Let's see how strong you are.  Once you cross my family, you are going to leave the Thunderdome in an ambulance or worse.

Shinsuke Nakamura says if your cousin Roman Reigns is the big dog, that makes you his little puppy.  Nakamura kicks Uso in the head and we go to commercial.

After the match, Cesaro celebrates with Nakamura.

Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville are in the back and she thinks Adam will be fine with Roman.

Paul enters with the revised contract and he tells Adam that he holds in his hands the opportunity of a lifetime.  Not only do you get to main event the Royal Rumble, it is an opportunity never offered to ScrapDaddy.  You not only get a chance at the Universal Championship.  Not only do you have that opportunity, the stipulations are tilted in your favor.  This will be contested under No Disqualification.

Adam tells Paul this is where you say it is the best for me.  I will sign it and with the stipulation, you think you will see me get injured.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Jey Uso argues with Charles Robinson.  Robinson says Uso had his feet on the ropes so he didn't make the count.  Jey threatens Charles' job and tells him to do his job.

We take a look back at the events that led to new Smackdown Tag Team Champions.

Kayla Braxton is in the back with the Street Profits.  She asks them if it was wise to defend the titles a week after their attack.  Montez says you can call them many things, but you cannot call us scared.  On March 2, 2020, we became Tag Team Champions and held the title for 312 days.  To not accept the challenge would have tarnished the legacy they are trying to establish.  Montez says they might be the champions now, but we will run it back.  Angelo says when the sequel happens, we will drop bodies like a Blumhouse movie.

Roman Reigns talks to Apollo Crews and Paul Heyman returns with the contract.  Roman tells Apollo to stay so he can learn from this.  Roman asks Paul if he signed it.  Roman says he won't sign it because he did not want a No DQ match.  He wants a Last Man Standing Match.  Paul says Adam won't accept a Last Man Standing Match.  Roman tells Paul that Adam will sign the contract in the ring tonight.  He tells Paul that he considers it handled.
