Eli Drake vs. Hurricane Helms

Kelly Kelly and Mrs. Hurricane came to the ring with Helms.  They did some entertaining back and forth mic work before the bell.  They played to the crowd well.  Helms drilled him with punches in the corner.  Drake went for a slingshot into the ring but missed the mark.  Helms worked him over but was caught with a clothesline.   Drake nailed a nice neckbreaker and Helms rolled to the outside.  Helms kicked out of several two counts.  Drake went to the top but had words with Helms' wife.  He was caught and hit with the chokeslam for the pin.

Your winner, Hurricane Helms!

An entertaining opener with Helms playing hometown babyface very well and Drake showing some great, brash heel skills.

They noted before they went on the air, Brandon Scott pinned Billy Gunn to regain the VCW title.

The War Kings (with Road Warrior Animal) vs. The Boys.

Crimson and Jax Dane worked over The Boys and sent them from the ring at the bell.  Crimson controlled one of the Boys and went for a delayed vertical suplex but the other Boy took him leg out from under him for a two count.  The Boys tried but were overwhelmed and defeated by Jax Dane and Crimson.  They noted the team was looking towards the Crockett Cup in 2019.

Your winners, The Boys!

CW Anderson (with John Skylar) vs. Kid Kash (with Joel Gertner) with Jerry Lynn as the guest referee.

They said this is being conducted under ECW rules.

Joel Gertner did his own long, extended introduction for Kash.  The crowd really liked that.  Anderson and Kash went back and forth.  Kash came off the top and nailed a chop over the head.  Anderson was knocked to the floor.  Kash came off the apron and hit a rana to the floor, which looked good.  Kash and Anderson battled on the floor.  Kash tossed Anderson back into the ring, then came off the top with a flying clothesline.   Anderson snatched him with a big spinebuster.

They battled back to the floor, where CW nailed him with a big chop.  Anderson grabbed a chair but Kash caught him with several hard shots to thwart that attempt.   Anderson gained control and slammed him arm against the ringpost, then flung the chair at the arm.  Anderson stalked him in the ring and snapped it down.  Anderson locked in an armbar.  Kash came back and nailed an inside cradle for a two count.  They battled back and forth and went down.  They recovered and returned to their feet, exchanging blows.

Kash took down Anderson and ascended to the top.  Anderson met him there and went for a superplex, nailing it.  John Skylar got in Jerry Lynn's face when "Natural Born Killaz" began playing and out came New Jack with a trash can full of weapons.  Hea then went under the ring and got a vacuum cleaner.  He drilled Skyler with the plunder.  He placed a trash can lid over Skylar's groin, then smashed it with the vaccuum.  Ouch.  He followed up with a Singapore Cane and worked over Skylar.  Lynn tried to tell Jack to relax but Jack went after him with the stick.  Lynn ducked and ran out of the ring.

Kash grabbed a chair and nailed Anderson in the mid-section with it.  Lynn prevented him from trying to use the chair again.  Anderson caught Kash with a superkick and pinned him.

Your winner, CW Anderson!

Anderson took the mic and invited all the other ECW originals in the house to the ring.  Shane Douglas, Chris Hamrick, Blue Meanie, Gary Wolf, New Jack, Mr. Hughes and Roadkill came to the ring.  Anderson said 25 years ago, they revolutionized the business not for money but for the letters ECW.  They said fans still chant it today because if what they did 25 years ago and thanked them.  He said they were the originators of extreme and hardcore, they were ECW.  The crowd popped chanted ECW.

A nice, nostalgic moment.  The match was solid.

Moose & MVP vs. Carlito Colon & Eddie Edwards.

Carlito took the mic and told everyone he’s been in the business for close to 20 years and that fans need to stop asking where the apple is.  He said he’s more than and they can shut up.  The crowd of course began chanting that, especially when MVP prompted it on the mic.  Carlito said, OK, wait one second.  He went to the aisle and he retrieved it.  The apple got a big pop.  Wait until Mitch the Plant shows up.

MVP and Carlito went back and forth on the mat.   Carlito escaped a head scissor on the mat and caught MVP with a dropkick.  Moose tagged in.  Edwards wanted him.  They met in the middle of the ring and battled back and forth in the center with some great brawling.  Moose charged but was tossed to the floor.  Edwards nailed a tope to the outside, almost sending Moose over the rail.  Edwards worked him over with chops, battling up the aisle to the ring.  When they returned to the ring, Moose regained control and tagged out to MVP.  MVP stomped Edwards and brought him back to the corner, where Moose and MVP tagged in and out, working him over.

Moose chopped Edwards and put his hand down his tights as a way to disrespect Edwards, but Eddie avoided it and unloaded with own.  Edwards made Moose hit his own face with that hand.  MVP tagged in and worked over Eddie, including the Ballin;' elbow.  Edwards finally tagged out to Carlito, who cleaned house on MVP and scored several two counts.  Moose  nailed a discus clothesline on Carlito.  Edwards clotheslined Moose over the top.  MVP went for the Playmaker but Carlito spewed apple in his face.  Edwards nailed a DDT for the pin.

Your winners, Eddie Edwards & Carlito!

Good match, especially when Moose and Edwards were in.  Moose's improvement continues to excel.  MVP and Carlito played their part here perfectly as well.  Very enjoyable the entire time.

Street Fight: Penelope Ford vs. Taya Valkyrie with Amber O'Neal as the special guest referee.

Ford (dressed in blue jeans, like Dusty Rhodes!) attacked Taya on the floor with a trash can as she was coming to the ring  She tossed Taya into the ring after working her over and tossed her back into the ring.   She brought a ladder and a chair into the ring.  She charged the corner and nailed Taya with it, then charged and drove herself into the ladder to nail Taya.  Taya came back with a big spear while rebounding off the ropes.

Taya worked her over, nailing a shot to the hamstring and used her boot to strangle her.  Taya nailed a suplex across the ladder, which was hanging off the ropes, for a two count.  Taya went to the floor to grab a trash can.  Taya nailed a double knee strike.  Taya placed a chair in between her legs and then dropkicked a trash can into the chair.  OUCH.  Taya pulled a chair into the ring.    Taya nailed a legdrop and tossed Ford to the floor.  Taya ripped at her shirt and chopped her hard across the chest.  Ford shoved her into the barricade and pulled a table out from under the ring.  They battled into the audience.  They ended up in the crowd sitting, facing each other, and chopped and struck each other back and forth.  Taya slammed her into a fan's chair and beat her with a series of rights.

They battled back into the ringside area.  Taya kicked her hard in the glutes.  Taya went to toss Ford into a table but it was reversed and Taya hit the table, sliding off.     Ford covered her for a two count.  Ford slammed her into the table again.  Taya slide down to the floor.  Taya reversed a whip and sent Ford into the table.  Still no give.  The crowd chanted, "This is awesome."  Taya took her top off and choked her with it.    She stopped on the throat of Ford.  Taya brought her back in the ring but missed a charge in the corner.  Ford unloaded with a series of strikes.

Ford nailed a series of four DDTs (!!) on chair for a two count.  Taya came back to nail a DDT for a two count.  They battled to the top, where Taya nailed a superplex through a table for the pin.

Your winner, Taya Valkyrie!

An entertaining brawl.  Ford has that "it" factor and I would legitimately be stunned if WWE didn't try to sign her ASAP.  She looked really good in everything she does.  Taya showed some awesome charisma here and continues to build a really consistent series of performances.
