SummerSlam opened with Jon Stewart in the ring.  He warmed up the crowd and said it was great after 16 years of dealing with politics, he is happy to be back in reality.  He put over the WWE workers and the fans in Brooklyn were loud tools.  They gave him the WHAT treatment.  The only guys he said that they liked were Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar.  They were half in on Undertaker.  Jon said he was angry about The Streak too so he said he wanted to talk to Lesnar about it but he needed some backup, so he brought out hist friend, the Hardcore Legend, Mick Foley.

Foley got a big pop.  He wants to tell a story, right here in Brooklyn, NY.  Foley said that in essence, when Jon called him he thought he was coming to interview The Rock, he missed the B in Brock.  Jon said he needs him for Brock.  Had you said that you needed him for Brock, he wouldn’t have come.  Jon asked are you afraid and he said yes.  The crowd chanted for The Rock.  Jon said remember Hell In A Cell?  It was awesome.  He respected it.  Mick said you know what it was, 17 years ago!  Before you began your show.  He said the one place he never wants to go to is Suplex City.  Jon, you are on your own. Jon said start the show then.  And, we’re off.

The announce the attendance is 15,700, pretty much what NXT did.  Our opening match is Randy Orton vs. Sheamus.

Sheamus started quickly and told the fans he does not, indeed, look stupid.  The fans did not agree and chanted for Orton.  But Sheamus was in control early.

Randy came back and dumped Sheamus to the floor.  Randy needed to take a second to get his faculties after being busted open over the left eye.  It is not bad bad, but in the new WWE you have to make sure it’s all good before going forward.  And he did, Viper Mode with the DDT off of the top.  Before he could hit the RKO, Sheamus made sure to stop him and went to work with forearms to the chest.  But then Sheamus launched himself into an RKO out of nowhere when he tried the Battering Ram.  Sheamus rolled to the floor to not get pinned.  Orton’s cut is not bad so went for the punt, but missed.  Sheamus got a two with White Noise.  Sheamus went for a Brogue, but missed.  Randy went for an RKO but missed. Sheamus hit the Brogue and got the pin.  Good opener.  Sheamus needed the win and got it.

Next up if the four way WWE Tag Title match.  The fans, of course, are into New Day after they sang New York.  They got a nice reaction.  Luca Dragons did as well.  Los Matadores were next, and finally the champions, The Prime Time Players.  They got a decent reaction.  My take is if the titles changes to one of the first two teams, the crowd would be happy.  This is Fatal Four Way so whoever get the win, gets the gold.

It was what you would expect early on, with a lot of action and the momentum changing quickly. … Of course, we had the Torito spot, where he jumped on Xavier Woods but at least Woods powerbombed him.  It was non-stop action, for sure.  The fans did a this is awesome chant.  I wouldn’t say that but they are all working hard.  Titus did a cool power spot where he threw threw of the Luchadores off of the top but while he was doing it, Kofi tagged him.  Titus went for the pin but Woods and Big E took him out and legal Kofi came in and got the pin on Matador A.  Or B.  Anyway, new champions. … It was fine for what it was and everyone worked hard.  If they put more focus on the tag division, it would have been better, but everyone worked really hard.

Jon Stewart was in the back telling Neville and Stephen Amell that Under taker was his friend.  Then the lights went down and Taker walked by, with no love for Jon, so he had Amell sign his son’s shirt.

The announcers told us Lana vs. Dolph Ziggler was up next.  They all had pretty much full Mountain Dews in front of them.  Can’t blame them for not drinking that.
