CODY RHODES VS. ANTHONY GANGONE, EYFBO VS. REDRAGON, HOMICIDE, BRIAN XL, KEN BROADWAY VS. LIO RUSH & MORE: HOUSE OF GLORY 'ADRENALINE' COVERAGE FROM NYC

By Mike Johnson on 2017-05-27 23:30:00

Street Fight: Violette vs. Sonya Strong.

Strong ducked a chairshot as he came down the aisle and tossed Violette into the railing, which fell over.  Ouch.  They brawled around ringside until Strong tossed her back into the ring.  Strong mounted her and peppered her with punches.  Strong went for a headscissors off the ropes but was caught and dumped over the top to the floor.  Violette smashed her into the apron and worked her over on the floor.

Back in the ring, Violette stomped Strong's back and cinched in a rear chinlock.  She whipped Strong into the corner and nailed a running clothesline, then nailed a series of elbow smashes for a two count.   Violette nailed another lariat for a two count.    She ducked a clothesline and leapt on Strong's back to lock on a sleeper.  Strong backed her up into the corner to break it and nailed a knee to the head for a two count.

Strong nailed a flying bodypress off the top rope for a two count.  Violette nailed a neckbreaker for a two count.  Violette caught a spinkick and turned it into a dragon screw legwhip, which was a cool spot.  Strong kicked her off and Violette wiped out the ref and fell through the ropes.  When she returned Strong slapped the hell out of her and locked her in a submission.  Violette tapped but there was no referee.  She let it go and went to rouse the referee.  Violette grabbed an object and driller her in the throat and locked on the same submission.  The revived referee saw Strong was out and called for the bell.

Your winner, Violette!

They tried to do a lot and it went too long.   They may have been better off with a shorter match as the early action was good.

The Trust (Evander James, Smoothe Blackmon, and Chris Seaton) vs. Brian XL & TJ Marconi & Brian Burgundy

Marconi did some power spots early, including spinning around Seaton as he held him in a side headlock.  Burgundy did some comedy power spots (since he's so small) assisted by Marconi.  XL went back and forth until nailed Blackmon with a big shoulderblock.   Burgundy nailed an awesome springboard dropkick. Burgundy did a dive to the floor.  Marconi teased one but was attacked.  It settled down into Team XL working over Seaton.  Burgundy used a stepladder to leap off and drop an elbow.  That was funny.

Team Evander worked over Burgundy as his team tried to assist but were held back by the referee.    They beat down Burgundy for a long, long time.  Marconi and XL finally got involved.  Everyone ended up on the floor.  Marconi teased a dive but manager Matthew Ryan got on the apron.  Security came out to stop the brawl.  Marconi grabbed Ryan and went to walk the ropes like Undertaker but instead just jumped backwards, wiping everyone out.

As the dust settled, XL nailed an Air Raid Crash on Blackmon for the pin.

They packed a lot into this.

Your winners, Brian XL & TJ Marconi & Brian Burgundy!

They announced WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart would be appearing at the 8/19 Anniversary show.

Rush hit a running Spanish Fly for a two count.  Broadway tried to grab the belt and run off but Rush caught him.  They brawled around ringside.  Broadway caught him with a tilotwhirl backbreaker for a two count.  Broadway worked over Rush for a long time as the crowd chanted for Rush to rally him.  Rush was sent into the corner but was kicked off as Broadway charged.   Rush nailed a series of clotheslines and a handspring elbow.  Broadway went to the apron, where he was kicked off.  Rush nailed a pair of suicide dives to the floor and tossed him back in,  Rush nailed a clothesline off the top for a two count.

Broadway was getting worked over on the ropes but escaped, swept Rush's legs and drilled him with a leaping kick for a two count.  The ref got bumped.  Broadway tried to use the belt as a weapon but Leroy Green hit the ring and nailed him and tossed the belt to Rush.  Rush did the Eddy Guerrero bit where he tossed the belt to Broadway and acted like he was hit with it.  That made no sense because he could have caused the DQ and technically, lost out on his chance at the belt.  Lio rolled him up for a series of near falls but Broadway kept kicking up.  Broadway nailed him and went to the top for a splash that was great and scored a two count.

Rush caught him with a leap into a reverse rana and a leaping kick for a two count.  Rush went to the top but Leroy returned to the ring with the title belt and teased nailing Broadway.  He finally put the belt down and tried to attack Broadway but the referee tried to stop him.  Rush suddenly feigned that something was wrong and collapsed.  The referee checked on him, allowing Green to superkick Broadway.   Rush wiped out Broadway and hit a big frog splash for the pin.

Your winner and new HOG Crown Jewel champion Lio Rush!

Fun and super hot match with lots of good near falls.
