Wrestling Open MA
8/7/25 Worcester, MA
Spotlight Match: Jay Lyon vs JGeorge (first to two wins)
JGeorge is on top right now in this series. One more win and he’s got it. However, this week it’s not his pinkie. His…knee? His ankle? He’s suddenly crawling to the corner. Jgeorge is up and wrestling like nothings wrong when the bell rings. Jay seems confused but he’s going toe to toe with the director. Jgeorge tries to wrap it up with the scissor kick but Lyon is laying in those cheese chops. Spinout uranage! Lionsault connects for the three and the series continues!
Match 1: Devious Cass vs Fancy Ryan Clancy
If Devious Cass thought he was about to have a standout performance at Wrestling Open, he clearly didn’t do his homework on his opponent. Clancy uses him as a punching bag. Cass starts to get some momentum going for about a minute and then Clancy KO’s him with the dropkick for the three! Worcester is HAPPY.
Clancy on the mic: He’s pretty sore at Bobby Orlando for costing him the Wrestling Open championship. He’s going to be watching his match with champion Bryce Donovan VERY closely.
Match 2: Tiara James vs Shannon Lavangie
In a way, this is a return for two talents who have been away for a bit of time, LaVangie especially. The two have a solid back and forth match, the crowd slowly working their way into. Shannon thinks to have it wrapped up but Tiara catches her with a guillotine…a quick reversal of position and Shannon stuffs her with a sitout headlock driver for the three!
It’s Stetson Ranch time and Steven Stetson loves to see the dissension in Big Business.
Match 3: Wonderboy Brian Morris (w/ Steven Stetson) vs A-Game Joseph Alexander
The opening of this match rules. Wonderboy vs A-Game as a work rate match would f***ing own. But Stetson’s here so he provides an interference and Wonderbread gets a long period to beat down Alexander. A-Game finally with a German reversal and starts to roll but Stetson is up there again, Wonderboy gets the rollup and holds the tights for the three.
A-Game says “well that sucked”. He also lets us know that Charles Mason isn’t here to defend the Discovery Gauntlet. He’s not being stripped. He’s still on top. But…A-Game is watching him real closely when he gets back. Mason’s original opponent, Will Keidis is here. Worcester hates him and decides he looks like a member of the Addams family. Keidis wants Alexander to exit the ring but A-Game chooses to stay. He’s doing double duty tonight!
Match 4: A-Game Joseph Alexander vs Will Keidis
Keidis tries to get out of this but Alexander forces the point and the bell rings! Keidis survives the initial onslaught until he blasts A-Game with a buckle bomb. Alexander staying in it but eating a lot of offense, including a spear off the second! A-Game with his comeback and scores the win off his flying knee! Worcester had a lot of fun with this one. I’m kinda glad Will got to work heel on this as it seems more natural for him.
Jermaine Marbury is back! He’s got Benny the Basketball! Worcester gives him the hero’s welcome. Kalvin Dumont is out here and jealous of Marbury’s reaction. I think we have a match.
Match 5: Jermaine Marbury (w/ Benny the Basketball) vs Kalvin Dumont
Marbury steamrolling this kid. Dumont stuns him and he starts to exploit what could be some ring rust in Marbury. Benny rallying for the D Fence! Dumont loses focus and attacks Benny! Jermaine back up! He jukes! Kobe! Swinging cutter puts Dumont away!
Match 6: Pretty City Express (CLAS & Devon Reno) vs Sammy Diaz & Mani Ariez
Sammy and Mani are OVER here and PCE hates this….but they are having a hard time dealing with this energy. They are trying REALLY hard to show those tag team tactics they displayed against Ichiban and Brando Lee on Monday…but Sammy and Mani have answers for everything. Maybe they have an IWTV account. Sammy finally falls victim to a distraction double team after five minutes of winning and PCE starts giving him the business. The crowd stays behind Diaz. Pretty City is really good. Sammy finally makes it free and gets the hot tag to Mani! Yesssirrrrr! They almost get the win off a doomsday blockbuster! PCE back on it with a backbreaker kneedrop to Sammy but he kicks out! They try a Magic Killer but Sammy DDT’s free! TKO/Frogsplash combo gets the win for Diaz and Ariez! This owned.
Sammy and Mani on the mic. Time to call out DJ Powers and Giorgio Lawrence. They have unfinished business!
The New School is out here for the main event. Joe Ocasio won’t be here tonight. They don’t need him. He gives them an undeniable replacement. Oh god.
Main Event: DJ Powers, Rain Conway, Jay.Tunis & Brett Mettro vs Pedro Dones, Eye Black Jack, Jake Gray & Erik Chacha (Elimination Match)
Gotta admit, I love this Cult Leader Life Changer Joe Ocasio gimmick. I wish he was here. That said, New School vs Old School! BIOPro owning the main event is cool. Eye Black Jack makes quick work of Jay.Tunis. DJ dodges a coffin drop from
Jake Gray and blasts him with a claymore for the elimination. Chacha is running through Raine but Mettro gets a blind tag and hits a worlds strongest slam for the three. New School up 3:2. Mettro tries taking out the Old School captain with a bear hug…Dones survives and slams the barricade! Brett with a powerslam but Rain gets a blind tag. In the confusion, Dones rolls up Rain for the three! Powers tries to swarm on Dones, keeping Jack stuck on the apron. Dones is bleeding from the nose! Boot wash to DJ! Airplane spin! Pedro going for the kill but DJ distracts the ref. Mettro with a clothesline! DIJ hits the claymore again! It’s not enough! A top rope splash does the trick tho and Eye Black Jack is alone with DJ and Mettro. Powers grinds the kid down but a suplex reversal starts to fire EBJ up! Mettro tries to intercept but eats a powerslam! Uranage takes out Brett!!! Powers is on the ground as Jack beckons him into the fight! DJ tries to fake it out but walk right into a powerslam! DI with a superkick! Jack catches the claymore into a powerbomb. Rain Conway is back to distract Jack, Powers rolls him up, stacks the legs and gets the three. New School wins! Awesome 17-minute main event….but BOOOOOOOOOO! Pedro catches Rain trying to leave but sends him back into the ring to eat Jack’s uranage to pop the crowd as we close the show!
