COMPLETE OUTLAW WRESTLING HOMICIDE RETIREMENT EVENT COVERAGE FROM NYC

By Mike Johnson on 2025-03-20 20:00:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing coverage of Outlaw Wrestling's Homicide Retirement Event in Brooklyn, NYC!

PRE-SHOW NOTES:

The show is being held in Arlo Williamsburg, a very swanky hotel.  Outlaw Wrestling will be running here regularly.

Homicide's family are in the house.

Kevin Gill will be on commentary tonight.  They are taping the show for future release on YouTube.  I do not know a timetable for release.

Lots of luminaries from Homicide's past are here.

There are several surprises hidden as well, I am told.

The roster signed a giant poster dedicated to Homicide's retirement.

The place is extremely close to, if not sold out.  I'd peg it at 1,000 or so.

Everyone in the main event, including referee Kevin Keenan, were handpicked by Homicide.

Before I start coverage, I have lost count of how many long-time readers and familiar old school ROH and NYC wrestling fans I saw tonight - and I thank ALL OF YOU for coming and saying hi.  It made my night to see so many of you, especially old pals like Carlos Rivera and Ron Grimaldi who I haven't seen since before the pandemic.  You all made my night before this show even started!  THANK YOU.

HOMICIDE RETIREMENT SHOW

They opened the show with a 10 bell salute to the late Vince Steele.  The crowd chanted "Thank you Steele" after the ten bell.

Drew Marston vs. "Timid" Tamir Gibbs vs. Rick Recon

Lots of back and forth spots early.  The crowd got behind Gibbs as he fought from underneath, battling the other, larger fighters.  Recon speared Gibbs, who escaped, leaving Marston to be nailed.  Recon nailed a Pedigree on Marston but Gibbs broke it up.  Gibbs got the pin with a moonsault.

Your winner, Tamir Gibbs!

Solid opener.

Tina San Antonio came out.  Steven Fabian from Inside Edition came out and said he had a breaking news bulletin.  From this point, Outlaw Wrestling will be here every month until eternity.  The problem is he now has to come here and see all the Brooklyn Sweathogs here.  He knocked the fans and then told Tina that 6 million people watch him, but she's been chasing his coattails for too long.  She may be from Brooklyn but he has someone who can take her out - The Boy Diva Rick Cataldo.

Tina San Antonio vs. Rick Cataldo with Steven Fabian.

Cataldo talked some trash and they locked up but Tina gained control and sent him to the mat.  Cataldo declared he was winning and argued with the crowd.  Tina maintained control.  Cataldo cut her off and beat Tina, hitting a hair mare and choked her against the ropes.  Tina battled from behind but was slammed for a two count.   He went to the ropes but was cut off and hit with a bulldog.  Kabian got on the apron and argued with Tina.  Rick charged.  Tina moved.  Fabian was smashed into.  Cataldo was rolled up and pinned.

Your winner, Tina San Antonio.

KC Navarro vs. Rich Swann

Swann was a surprise and not advertised.  He made a grand entrance to All Night Long from the stairway of the ballroom and NYC popped huge as he danced through the crowd and into the ring.  Navaroo and even the referee got in on the dance.  The crowd loved all it.

Navarro began talking trash on the crowd but shook hands with Swann before they locked up.   Some really nice back and forth action early.  Swann hit some really nice, explosive offense.    They fired off with chops on each other with Swann getting the early advantage.  They went to the floor, where Swann charged around the ring and nailed a boot in the face.  He danced around and hit another one.  Big pops for those spots.

Navarro came back with a great spinning DDT in the center of the ring for a two count.    Navarro was caught with a Fall Away Slam for a two count.  Navarro rose to his feet and began slugging out with Swann.  Navarro caught him in the corner and slammed him, then went to the rop.  Navarro nailed a frog splash for a close near fall.  Swann came back with a handspring cutter for the pin.

Your winner, Rich Swann!

Fun, electric match!

Swann offered his hand to Navarro up after the bout.    Navarro teased blowing him off but then hugged.  They raised each other's arms.

Buddy Thomas vs. Matt Tremont

Thomas came out to Hot Stuff by Donna Summer, so the Eddie Gilbert fan in me hopes he gets a fireball in the face.

Tremont was an unadvertised surprise.  Maybe we will get a fireball!

Tremont was in control early, hitting big chops on Thomas.   Tremont hit a big Beel toss across the ring.  Thomas hit a running splash in the corner.  Tremont pulled out a a fork but the referee took it away.  This allowed Thomas to attack and gain control with shots across the back and chest.  Tremont nailed him coming off the ropes and trashed him with an umbrella Thomas brought into the ring.  Tremont hit a Bossman slam for the pin.

Your winner, Matt Tremont!
