Countdown to Slammiversary
Tom Hannifan introduces the show and things are getting kicked off right away with the Fatal Four-Way Women’s match.
Xia Brookside vs. Gisele Shaw vs. Tasha Steelz vs. Faby Apache
The crowd chants “TNA” as all four women size each other up. Xia Brookside and Faby Apache go after each other, while Tasha Steelz and Gisele Shaw do the same. Gisele and Xia knock down Tasha and Faby and then team up on Faby until Tasha comes back into the ring and lays out both women.
Tasha singles out Xia and hits a big knee for a pin that Apache breaks up. Apache takes control of Tasha and locks in a submission until Shaw breaks it up. Shaw and Apache counter some strikes until Shaw hits Shock and Awe. Tasha and Xia get back into the action and Xia takes control. She goes for quick pins on Tasha and Gisele, but is broken up by Apache.
Apache lays out Xia and then Tasha brings Apache down into her knees, which causes Apache to roll outside. Tasha hits a dive on Apache. Gisele hits a dive on the two women. Xia hits a third dive on all three competitors. She rolls Tasha into the ring for a two count.
Xia starts to think about the Brooksy Bomb, but is broken up by Gisele. Shaw lifts both Tasha and Xia up on her shoulders and drops them both. Apache breaks up her pin.
Apache and Gisele square off and strike each other back and forth. Apache goes for a big top rope attack on Shaw, but Gisele catches her and slams her. Tasha breaks it up and then Xia re-enters the action.
Shaw delivers a HUGE knee to Xia, but Tasha throws Shaw out of the ring allowing for Tasha Steelz to get the pin and the win!
Winner: Tasha Steelz
Tom Hannifan announces that the main event between AJ Francis and PCO will now be under Montreal Street Fight Rules. He then throws to a video package on PCO and his story with Steph De Lander and AJ Francis.
After the video package, First Class are interviewed by Gia Miller. She asks AJ Francis how he feels about the match now being a Street Fight. AJ Francis says that he isn’t worried about it because he’s from the streets. He says he brought Smoke DZA and Josh Bishop along and they entered the frame. He says that as long as they do what they are supposed to do, they’ll get paid handsomely. AJ Francis then tells Rich Swann to take care of business against KUSHIDA.
As Swann exits, Sami Callihan enters. AJ Francis says that he can upgrade Sami. Sami says, “Upgrade? I’ll definitely be watching the match then!” and walks off. AJ Francis reiterates that he’ll be retaining his titles and putting PCO down for good.
KUSHIDA vs. Rich Swann
During his entrance, KUSHIDA reveals that he has Japanese writing all over him - similar to Jinsei Shinzaki (Hakushi). He is much more serious, as well.
He stalks Rich Swann a bit before they lock up. KUSHIDA grabs an arm lock and immediately goes for the Hoverboard Lock. Swann makes it to the ropes and they exchange a bunch of athletic counters off the ropes until KUSHIDA hits a kick. Swann lures KUSHIDA in, though, and has him between the ropes. He jumps on his back and then works the back more by standing on it.
Swann kicks KUSHIDA in the back, lifts him up, and puts him in a headlock. KUSHIDA drops to his butt and positions himself into a meditation pose. The pose confuses Swann enough for KUSHIDA to strike him hard. Swann regains the advantage, though, until KUSHIDA hits a dragon screw.
KUSHIDA proceeds to work the leg and hits a handspring back elbow followed by a palm strike in the corner. Swann hits a superkick and then a Poison Rana, followed by a handspring cutter for a two count.
Swann goes to the second rope and goes for a 450. He rolls through as KUSHIDA moves. KUSHIDA goes for the Tanaka Punch. Swann initially ducks, but KUSHIDA gets it on the second try. He misses a moonsault from the top and Swann gets a two count.
As Swann tries to climb the ropes on the outside, KUSHIDA kicks out his legs. KUSHIDA climbs up with Swann and grabs a Hoverboard Lock. He maintains hold of the lock and flips Swann from the top rope to the mat. Swann tapped quickly.
Winner: KUSHIDA
Tom Hannifan throws to a Jordynne Grace video package.
Gia Miller introduces Ash by Elegance and her Personal Concierge. The Personal Concierge isn’t happy with the introduction and re-does it for Ash. They then storm off.
TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions Alisha Edwards & Masha Slamovich vs. Spitfire
Before the match, Tom Hannifan went over what set this match up.
Masha Slamovich and Jody Threat start things off. They get in each other’s faces until Masha brings Threat down. Jody reverses it, though, and grabs an arm lock. We get another couple of reversals until Threat kicks Masha off of her.
Alisha Edwards and Dana Luna are tagged in. They lock up, but Luna quickly throws Alisha down. Alisha tries to grab Luna from behind, but Luna disposes of her easily. Alisha goes for some strikes, but Luna shakes them off and is able to drive Alisha down to the mat. Jody Threat is tagged in.
Luna and Threat hit Alisha with a series of strikes and then lift her for a double subplex. Masha has seen enough and rushes in. Luna and Threat double team her, though, as well. The ref finally gets Threat out and Alisha is able to get a strike on Luna. Luna runs the ropes and Masha trips her.
Masha tags in and Luna is now double teamed by Alisha and Masha. Masha gets a two count. Masha gets some vicious kicks in on Luna - her back and chest - for a two count. Luna fights back and staggers Masha, but Masha gets a kick in with Luna on the ropes. Masha brings Alisha back in and Luna is in the opposing corner. It doesn’t look good for her, but she fights out of it and gets to Threat for the tag.
Threat comes in like a house on fire and lays out the tag champs. She trips up both opponents into the ropes and jumps onto their back. Threat then hits a German suplex on Masha and a big slam on Alisha. She tries to pin both at the same time and gets a two count.
Luna is tagged back in and Luna and Threat hit a Hart Attack, which Masha breaks up. Alisha attacks Threat’s eyes and Masha drives Threat down into the mat with a Snow Plow. Alisha gets a two count. Masha grabs the tag titles and tries to hit Threat with one of them. She misses and the ref tries to get the belt out of the ring. Threat then charges Masha in the corner and Alisha is able to use the second belt to connect with Threats face. Alisha then hits a Bulldog off the ropes for the win!
Winners and Still Champions: Masha Slamovich and Alisha Edwards
A video package for the issues between Mike Bailey and Mustafa Ali is aired. Following the video, Mustafa Ali’s arrival is shown. He is with Campaign Singh and his security. Mike Bailey is also shown arriving.
Santino Marella comes out. He says he loves Montreal and that he lived there 25 years ago. He is speaking both French and English. He reminds everyone that this is TNA’s biggest show in 10 years. He says that before we start the PPV, we have one more match that will include Eric Young!
Eric Young comes out and has gear inspired by the Montreal Canadiens. His opponent is introduced and it is…Hammerstone!
Eric Young vs. Hammerstone
They lock up and Hammerstone throws Eric off of him. He charges Eric and Eric gives him an elbow. Eric then rushes Hammerstone and gets laid out. Hammerstone picks Eric up and goes for a chokeslam. Eric gets out of it and hits a drop kick.
They get up and Eric tries to use his quickness and lure Hammerstone into the corner, but Hammerstone grabs a hold of Eric and flings him over the top rope. He follows Eric to the outside and throws him into the ring post. Hammerstone throws Eric back into the ring and hits a big time drop kick off of the top rope and gets a two count.
He picks Eric up and throws him into the corner. He kicks him down to the mat and then lays and poses on the bottom rope as he chokes Eric with his foot. Hammerstone delays his next attack which allows Eric to get a couple of strikes in, but Hammerstone is able to grab him for a belly-to-back suplex.
Hammerstone gets Eric in the corner and whips him across the ring. Eric does the Flair corner flip and gets in some quick punches on Hammerstone, taking Hammerstone off of his feet. Eric gets a big slam on Hammerstone and goes to the top rope. Hammerstone stops him, though, and hits a nasty elbow to Eric’s jaw.
Hammerstone joins Eric on the ropes and goes for a second rope suplex. Eric bites Hammerstone’s forehead, causing Hammerstone to fall to the mat, and then hits a big elbow drop onto Hammerstone for a two count. He goes for a piledriver on Hammerstone, but Hammerstone stands out of it. Hammerstone is done playing with his food and throws Eric down and goes for a Torture Rack.
Eric Young fights out of it, though, and catches Hammerstone off guard for a quick roll up. He gets the three count!
Winner: Eric Young
Hammerstone is shocked. Eric Young grabs a mic and Hammerstone is arguing with the referee. He argues with her outside of the ring as Eric Young tells the crowd that it feels good to be home. “Tonight is a celebration for everyone - wrestling, the wrestlers, and the fans.”
Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt reiterate how big this show is as they switch over to the PPV.
Slammiversary 2024 PPV Coverage
Jade Chung introduces Annie St-Onge, who will be singing the Canadian national anthem.
A video package is shown that showcases all of the night’s competitors and the issues that they have with each other.
Matt Hardy vs. JDC
JDC comes out with a huge American flag and matching pants. Matt Hardy meets him at the bottom of the ramp. He’s out for revenge over what happened on Impact! on Thursday. JDC took out both Jeff Hardy and Reby and Matt is using everything on the outside to get back at JDC.
They almost get things going in the ring, but JDC rolls all the way through and grabs the flag. The referee tries to take the flag away, but JDC wins the tug of war and uses it on Matt Hardy. He rolls Matt into the ring and the match begins with JDC in full control.
Matt gets thrown into the corner and receives some punches in the middle of the ring. JDC hangs Matt over the top rope and strikes him down for a two count. Matt fires back some blows as he gets to his feet, but JDC elbows Matt back down as he came off the ropes. He brings Matt into the corner and bites his forehead.
JDC brings Matt down to the mat and wraps him up between his legs, but Matt fights out. JDC sets up for a leg drop from the second rope to the outside on the hardest part of the ring, but Matt moves and takes advantage. He drags JDC back into the ring and rams his head into all three turnbuckles.
Matt hits a suplex, takes off his shirt, and goes to the second rope. He is able to hit an elbow drop, waits for JDC to get up, and tries a Twist of Fate. JDC powers out, but a Side Effect is hit on JDC. Another Twist of Fate is tried, but JDC counters into a Falcon Arrow.
JDC goes to the top, but Matt thwarts the plan. Matt hits a Twist of Fate on JDC as JDC was still on the second rope for the win!
Winner: Matt Hardy
Matt Hardy is not done, though! He hits another Twist of Fate. And another!
In the back, The System (minus JDC) all have American flag track suits on. Alisha talks about how she took care of business. Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers talk about how they will do the same later. Moose now stands by himself and he’s ready to show the world why they should always trust The System.
